Intersection numbers on M‾g,n\overline {\mathcal M}_{g,n} and BKP hierarchy

In their recent inspiring paper Mironov and Morozov claim a surprisingly simple expansion formula for the Kontsevich-Witten tau-function in terms of the Schur Q-functions. Here we provide a similar conjecture for the Brézin-Gross-Witten tau-function. Moreover, we identify both tau-functions of the KdV hierarchy, which describe intersection numbers on the moduli spaces of punctured Riemann surfaces, with the hypergeometric solutions of the BKP hierarchy.

KP integrability of triple Hodge integrals. II. Generalized Kontsevich matrix model

In this paper we introduce a new family of the KP tau-functions. This family can be described by a deformation of the generalized Kontsevich matrix model. We prove that the simplest representative of this family describes a generating function of the cubic Hodge integrals satisfying the Calabi-Yau condition, and claim that the whole family describes its generalization for the higher spin cases. To investigate this family we construct a new description of the Sato Grassmannian in terms of a canonical pair of the Kac-Schwarz operators.

Open intersection numbers, Kontsevich-Penner model and cut-and-join operators

We continue our investigation of the Kontsevich--Penner model, which describes intersection theory on moduli spaces both for open and closed curves. In particular, we show how Buryak's residue formula, which connects two generating functions of intersection numbers, appears in the general context of matrix models and tau-functions. This allows us to prove that the Kontsevich--Penner matrix integral indeed describes open intersection numbers. For arbitrary NN we show that the string and dilaton equations completely specify the solution of the KP hierarchy. We derive a complete family of the Virasoro and W-constraints, and using these constraints, we construct the cut-and-join operators. The case N=1N=1, corresponding to open intersection numbers, is particularly interesting: for this case we obtain two different families of the Virasoro constraints, so that the difference between them describes the dependence of the tau-function on even times.

Matrix integral expansion of colored Jones polynomials for figure-eight knot

In this note we examine a possible extension of the matrix integral representation of knot invariants beyond the class of torus knots. In particular, we study a representation of the SU(2) quantum Racah coefficients by double matrix integrals. We find that the Racah coefficients are mapped to expansion coefficients in some basis of double integrals. The transformed coefficients have a number of interesting algebraic properties.

The master T-operator for the Gaudin model and the KP hierarchy

Following the approach of [arXiv:1112.3310], we construct the master T -operator for the quantum Gaudin model with twisted boundary conditions and show that it satisfies the bilinear identity and Hirota equations for the classical KP hierarchy. We also characterize the class of solutions to the KP hierarchy that correspond to eigenvalues of the master T-operator and study dynamics of their zeros as functions of the spectral parameter. This implies a remarkable connection between the quantum Gaudin model and the classical Calogero-Moser system of particles.

Classical tau-function for quantum spin chains

For an arbitrary generalized quantum integrable spin chain we introduce a "master T -operator" which represents a generating function for commuting quantum transfer matrices constructed by means of the fusion procedure in the auxiliary space. We show that the functional relations for the transfer matrices are equivalent to an infinite set of model-independent bilinear equations of the Hirota form for the master T -operator, which allows one to identify it with τ-function of an integrable hierarchy of classical soliton equations. In this paper we consider spin chains with rational GL(N)-invariant R-matrices but the result is independent of a particular functional form of the transfer matrices and directly applies to quantum integrable models with more general (trigonometric and elliptic) R-matrices and to supersymmetric spin chains.
