Extension operators for some ultraholomorphic classes defined by sequences of rapid growth

While the asymptotic Borel mapping, sending a function into its series of asymptotic expansion in a sector, is known to be surjective for arbitrary openings in the framework of ultraholomorphic classes associated with sequences of rapid growth, there is no general procedure to construct extension operators in this case. We do provide such operators in complex sectors for some particular classes considered by S.~Pilipovi{ć}, N.~Teofanov and F.~Tomi{ć} in the ultradifferentiable setting. Although these classes are, in their words, "beyond Gevrey regularity", in some cases they keep the property of stability under differentiation, which is crucial for our technique, based on formal Borel- and truncated Laplace-like transforms with suitable kernels.

Formal Gevrey solutions -- in analytic germs -- for higher order holomorphic PDEs

We consider a family of holomorphic PDEs whose singular locus is given by the zero set of an analytic map $P$ with $P(0)=0$. Our goal is to establish conditions for the existence and uniqueness of formal power series solutions and to determine their divergence rate. In fact, we prove that the solution is Gevrey in $P$, giving new information on divergency while compared to the classical Gevrey classes. If $P$ is not singular at $0$, we also provide Poincaré conditions to recover convergent solutions. Our strategy is to extend the dimension and lift the given PDE to a problem where results of singular PDEs can be applied. Finally, examples where the Gevrey class in $P$ is optimal are included.

Higher-order recurrence relations, Sobolev-type inner products and matrix factorizations

It is well known that Sobolev-type orthogonal polynomials with respect to measures supported on the real line satisfy higher-order recurrence relations and these can be expressed as a (2N+1)-banded symmetric semi-infinite matrix. In this paper we state the connection between these (2N+1)-banded matrices and the Jacobi matrices associated with the three-term recurrence relation satisfied by the standard sequence of orthonormal polynomials with respect to the 2-iterated Christoffel transformation of the measure.

Multisummability of formal solutions for a family of generalized singularly perturbed moment differential equations

The notion of moment differentiation is extended to the set of generalized multisums of formal power series via an appropriate integral representation and accurate estimates of the moment derivatives. The main result is applied to characterize generalized multisummability of the formal solution to a family of singularly perturbed moment differential equations in the complex domain, broadening widely the range of singularly perturbed functional equations to be considered in practice, such as singularly perturbed differential equations and singularly perturbed fractional differential equations.

On the multiple-scale analysis for some linear partial $q$-difference and differential equations with holomorphic coefficients

The analytic and formal solutions of certain family of $q$-difference-differential equations under the action of a complex perturbation parameter is considered. The previous study of the last two authors provides information in the case when the main equation under study is factorizable, as a product of two equations in the so-called normal form. Each of them gives rise to a single level of $q$-Gevrey asymptotic expansion. In the present work, the main problem under study does not suffer any factorization, and a different approach is followed. More precisely, we lean on the technique developed in a paper, where the first author makes distinction among the different $q$-Gevrey asymptotic levels by successive applications of two $q$-Borel-Laplace transforms of different orders both to the same initial problem and which can be described by means of a Newton polygon.

On second order q-difference equations satisfied by Al-Salam-Carlitz I-Sobolev type polynomials of higher order

This contribution deals with the sequence $\{\mathbb{U}_{n}^{(a)}(x;q,j)\}_{n\geq 0}$ of monic polynomials, orthogonal with respect to a Sobolev-type inner product related to the Al-Salam--Carlitz I orthogonal polynomials, and involving an arbitrary number of $q$-derivatives on the two boundaries of the corresponding orthogonality interval. We provide several versions of the corresponding connection formulas, ladder operators, and several versions of the second order $q$-difference equations satisfied by polynomials in this sequence. As a novel contribution to the literature, we provide certain three term recurrence formula with rational coefficients satisfied by $\mathbb{U}_{n}^{(a)}(x;q,j)$, which paves the way to establish an appealing generalization of the so-called $J$-fractions to the framework of Sobolev-type orthogonality.

On the convergence of generalized power series solutions of $q$-difference equations

A sufficient condition for the convergence of a generalized formal power series solution to an algebraic $q$-difference equation is provided. The main result leans on a geometric property related to the semi-group of (complex) power exponents of such a series. This property corresponds to the situation in which the small divisors phenomenon does not arise. Some examples illustrating the cases where the obtained sufficient condition can be or cannot be applied are also depicted.

Summability of formal solutions for some generalized moment partial differential equations

The concept of moment differentiation is extended to the class of moment summable functions, giving rise to moment differential properties. The main result leans on accurate upper estimates for the integral representation of the moment derivatives of functions under exponential-like growth at infinity, and appropriate deformation of the integration paths. The theory is applied to obtain summability results of certain family of generalized linear moment partial differential equations with variable coefficients.

On multiscale Gevrey and q-Gevrey asymptotics for some linear q-difference differential initial value Cauchy problems

We study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions related to a singularly perturbed q-difference-differential problem in the complex domain. The analytic solution can be splitted according to the nature of the equation and its geometry so that both, Gevrey and q-Gevrey asymptotic phenomena are observed and can be distinguished, relating the analytic and the formal solution. The proof leans on a two level novel version of Ramis-Sibuya theorem under Gevrey and q-Gevrey orders.

On parametric multilevel q-Gevrey asymptotics for some linear Cauchy problem

We study a linear $q-$difference-differential Cauchy problem, under the action of a perturbation parameter $ε$. This work deals with a $q-$analog of the research made in a previoues work, giving rise to a generalization of a recent work by the second author. This generalization is related to the nature of the forcing term which suggests the use of a $q-$analog of an acceleration procedure. The proof leans on a $q-$analog of the so-called Ramis-Sibuya theorem which entails two distinct $q-$Gevrey orders. The work concludes with an application of the main result when the forcing term solves a related problem.

On parametric multisummable formal solutions to some nonlinear initial value Cauchy problems

We study a nonlinear initial value Cauchy problem depending upon a complex perturbation parameter $ε$ whose coefficients depend holomorphically on $(ε,t)$ near the origin in $\mathbb{C}^{2}$ and are bounded holomorphic on some horizontal strip in $\mathbb{C}$ w.r.t the space variable. We consider a family of forcing terms that are holomorphic on a common sector in time $t$ and on sectors w.r.t the parameter $ε$ whose union form a covering of some neighborhood of 0 in $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$, which are asked to share a common formal power series asymptotic expansion of some Gevrey order as $ε$ tends to 0. The proof leans on a version of the so-called Ramis-Sibuya theorem which entails two distinct Gevrey orders. Finally, we give an application to the study of parametric multi-level Gevrey solutions for some nonlinear initial value Cauchy problems with holomorphic coefficients and forcing term in $(ε,t)$ near 0 and bounded holomorphic on a strip in the complex space variable.

Strongly regular multi-level solutions of singularly perturbed linear partial differential equations

We study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions related to a family of singularly perturbed partial differential equations in the complex domain. The analytic solutions are asymptotically represented by a formal power series in the perturbation parameter. The geometry of the problem and the nature of the elements involved in it give rise to different asymptotic levels related to the so-called strongly regular sequences. The result leans on a novel version of a multi-level Ramis-Sibuya theorem.

Multi-level Gevrey solutions of singularly perturbed linear partial differential equations

We study the asymptotic behavior of the solutions related to a family of singularly perturbed linear partial differential equations in the complex domain. The analytic solutions obtained by means of a Borel-Laplace summation procedure are represented by a formal power series in the perturbation parameter. Indeed, the geometry of the problem gives rise to a decomposition of the formal and analytic solutions so that a multi-level Gevrey order phenomenon appears. This result leans on a Malgrange-Sibuya theorem in several Gevrey levels.

On parametric Gevrey asymptotics for some Cauchy problems in quasiperiodic function spaces

We investigate Gevrey asymptotics for solutions to nonlinear parameter depending Cauchy problems with $2π$-periodic coefficients, for initial data living in a space of quasiperiodic functions. By means of the Borel-Laplace summation procedure, we construct sectorial holomorphic solutions which are shown to share the same formal power series as asymptotic expansion in the perturbation parameter. We observe a small divisor phenomenon which emerges from the quasiperiodic nature of the solutions space and which is the origin of the Gevrey type divergence of this formal series. Our result rests on the classical Ramis-Sibuya theorem which asks to prove that the difference of any two neighboring constructed solutions satisfies some exponential decay. This is done by an asymptotic study of a Dirichlet-like series whose exponents are positive real numbers which accumulate to the origin.

On parametric Gevrey asymptotics for some nonlinear initial value Cauchy problems

We study a nonlinear initial value Cauchy problem depending upon a complex perturbation parameter $ε$ with vanishing initial data at complex time $t=0$ and whose coefficients depend analytically on $(ε,t)$ near the origin in $\mathbb{C}^{2}$ and are bounded holomorphic on some horizontal strip in $\mathbb{C}$ w.r.t the space variable. This problem is assumed to be non-Kowalevskian in time $t$, therefore analytic solutions at $t=0$ cannot be expected in general. Nevertheless, we are able to construct a family of actual holomorphic solutions defined on a common bounded open sector with vertex at 0 in time and on the given strip above in space, when the complex parameter $ε$ belongs to a suitably chosen set of open bounded sectors whose union form a covering of some neighborhood $Ω$ of 0 in $\mathbb{C}^{\ast}$. These solutions are achieved by means of Laplace and Fourier inverse transforms of some common $ε-$depending function on $\mathbb{C} \times \mathbb{R}$, analytic near the origin and with exponential growth on some unbounded sectors with appropriate bisecting directions in the first variable and exponential decay in the second, when the perturbation parameter belongs to $Ω$. Moreover, these solutions satisfy the remarkable property that the difference between any two of them is exponentially flat for some integer order w.r.t $ε$. With the help of the classical Ramis-Sibuya theorem, we obtain the existence of a formal series (generally divergent) in $ε$ which is the common Gevrey asymptotic expansion of the built up actual solutions considered above.

Summability in general Carleman ultraholomorphic classes

A definition of summability is put forward in the framework of general Carleman ultraholomorphic classes in sectors, so generalizing $k-$summability theory as developed by J.-P. Ramis. Departing from a strongly regular sequence of positive numbers, we construct an associated analytic proximate order and corresponding kernels, which allow us to consider suitable Laplace and Borel-type transforms, both formal and analytic, whose behavior closely resembles that of the classical ones in the Gevrey case. An application to the study of the summability properties of the formal solutions to some moment-partial differential equations is included.

On complex singularity analysis for some linear partial differential equations in $\mathbb{C}^3$

We investigate the existence of local holomorphic solutions $Y$ of linear partial differential equations in three complex variables whose coefficients are singular along an analytic variety $Θ$ in $\mathbb{C}^{2}$. The coefficients are written as linear combinations of powers of a solution $X$ of some first order nonlinear partial differential equation following an idea we have initiated in a previous work \cite{mast}. The solutions $Y$ are shown to develop singularities along $Θ$ with estimates of exponential type depending on the growth's rate of $X$ near the singular variety. We construct these solutions with the help of series of functions with infinitely many variables which involve derivatives of all orders of $X$ in one variable. Convergence and bounds estimates of these series are studied using a majorant series method which leads to an auxiliary functional equation that contains differential operators in infinitely many variables. Using a fixed point argument, we show that these functional equations actually have solutions in some Banach spaces of formal power series.

On parametric Gevrey asymptotics for singularly perturbed partial differential equations with delays

We study a family of singularly perturbed $q-$difference-differential equations in the complex domain. We provide sectorial holomorphic solutions in the perturbation parameter $ε$. Moreover, we achieve the existence of a common formal power series in $ε$ which represents each actual solution, and establish $q-$Gevrey estimates involved in this representation. The proof of the main result rests on a new version of the so-called Malgrange-Sibuya Theorem regarding $q-$Gevrey asymptotics. A particular Dirichlet like series is studied on the way.

Continuous right inverses for the asymptotic Borel map in ultraholomorphic classes via a Laplace-type transform

A new construction of linear continuous right inverses for the asymptotic Borel map is provided in the framework of general Carleman ultraholomorphic classes in narrow sectors. Such operators were already obtained by V. Thilliez by means of Whitney extension results for non quasianalytic ultradifferentiable classes, due to J. Chaumat and A. M. Chollet, but our approach is completely different, resting on the introduction of a suitable truncated Laplace-type transform. This technique is better suited for a generalization of these results to the several variables setting. Moreover, it closely resembles the classical procedure in the case of Gevrey classes, so indicating the way for the introduction of a concept of summability which generalizes $k-$summability theory as developed by J. P. Ramis.

On q-asymptotics for linear q-difference-differential equations with Fuchsian and irregular singularities

We consider a Cauchy problem for some family of q-difference-differential equations with Fuchsian and irregular singularities, that admit a unique formal power series solution in two variables t and z for given formal power series initial conditions. Under suitable conditions and by the application of certain q-Borel and Laplace transforms (introduced by J.-P. Ramis and C. Zhang), we are able to deal with the small divisors phenomenon caused by the Fuchsian singularity, and to construct actual holomorphic solutions of the Cauchy problem whose q-asymptotic expansion in t, uniformly for z in the compact sets of the complex plane, is the formal solution. The small divisors's effect is an increase in the order of q-exponential growth and the appearance of a power of the factorial in the corresponding q-Gevrey bounds in the asymptotics.

On $q-$Gevrey asymptotics for singularly perturbed $q-$difference-differential problems with an irregular singularity

We study a $q-$analog of a singularly perturbed Cauchy problem with irregular singularity in the complex domain which generalizes a previous result by S. Malek in \cite{malek}. First, we construct solutions defined in open $q-$spirals to the origin. By means of a $q-$Gevrey version of Malgrange-Sibuya theorem we show the existence of a formal power series in the perturbation parameter which turns out to be the $q-$Gevrey asymptotic expansion (of certain type) of the actual solutions.

Strong asymptotic expansions in a multidirection

In this paper we prove that, for asymptotically bounded holomorphic functions defined in a polysector in ${\mathbb C}^n$, the existence of a strong asymptotic expansion in Majima's sense following a single multidirection towards the vertex entails (global) asymptotic expansion in the whole polysector. Moreover, we specialize this result for Gevrey strong asymptotic expansions. This is a generalization of a result proved by A. Fruchard and C. Zhang for asymptotic expansions in one variable, but the proof, mainly in the Gevrey case, involves different techniques of a functional-analytic nature.
