Phase transition for level-set percolation of the membrane model in dimensions $d \geq 5$

We consider level-set percolation for the Gaussian membrane model on $\mathbb{Z}^d$, with $d \geq 5$, and establish that as $h \in \mathbb{R}$ varies, a non-trivial percolation phase transition for the level-set above level $h$ occurs at some finite critical level $h_\ast$, which we show to be positive in high dimensions. Along $h_\ast$, two further natural critical levels $h_{\ast\ast}$ and $\overline{h}$ are introduced, and we establish that $-\infty <\overline{h} \leq h_\ast \leq h_{\ast\ast} < \infty$, in all dimensions. For $h > h_{\ast\ast}$, we find that the connectivity function of the level-set above $h$ admits stretched exponential decay, whereas for $h < \overline{h}$, chemical distances in the (unique) infinite cluster of the level-set are shown to be comparable to the Euclidean distance, by verifying conditions identified by Drewitz, Ráth and Sapozhnikov, see arXiv:1212.2885, for general correlated percolation models. As a pivotal tool to study its level-set, we prove novel decoupling inequalities for the membrane model.

Entropic turnpike estimates for the kinetic Schrödinger problem

We investigate the kinetic Schrödinger problem, obtained considering Langevin dynamics instead of Brownian motion in Schrödinger's thought experiment. Under a quasilinearity assumption we establish exponential entropic turnpike estimates for the corresponding Schrödinger bridges and exponentially fast convergence of the entropic cost to the sum of the marginal entropies in the long-time regime, which provides as a corollary an entropic Talagrand inequality. In order to do so, we profit from recent advances in the understanding of classical Schrödinger bridges and adaptations of Bakry-Émery formalism to the kinetic setting. Our quantitative results are complemented by basic structural results such as dual representation of the entropic cost and the existence of Schrödinger potentials.

Extremes of some Gaussian random interfaces

In this article we give a general criterion for some dependent Gaussian models to belong to maximal domain of attraction of Gumbel, following an application of the Stein-Chen method studied in Arratia et al(1989). We also show the convergence of the associated point process. As an application, we show the conditions are satisfied by some of the well-known supercritical Gaussian interface models, namely, membrane model, massive and massless discrete Gaussian free field, fractional Gaussian free field.

Extremes of the supercritical Gaussian Free Field

We show that the rescaled maximum of the discrete Gaussian Free Field (DGFF) in dimension larger or equal to 3 is in the maximal domain of attraction of the Gumbel distribution. The result holds both for the infinite-volume field as well as the field with zero boundary conditions. We show that these results follow from an interesting application of the Stein-Chen method from Arratia et al. (1989).

Invariance Principle for symmetric Diffusions in a degenerate and unbounded stationary and ergodic Random Medium

We study a symmetric diffusion $X$ on $\mathbb{R}^d$ in divergence form in a stationary and ergodic environment, with measurable unbounded and degenerate coefficients $a^ω$. The diffusion is formally associated with $L^ωu = \nabla\cdot(a^ω\nabla u)$, and we make sense of it through Dirichlet forms theory. We prove for $X$ a quenched invariance principle, under some moment conditions on the environment; the key tool is the sublinearity of the corrector obtained by Moser's iteration scheme.

Local Central Limit Theorem for diffusions in a degenerate and unbounded Random Medium

We study a symmetric diffusion $X$ on $\mathbb{R}^d$ in divergence form in a stationary and ergodic environment, with measurable unbounded and degenerate coefficients. We prove a quenched local central limit theorem for $X$, under some moment conditions on the environment; the key tool is a local parabolic Harnack inequality obtained with Moser iteration technique.

On large deviations for small noise Itô processes

The large deviation principle in the small noise limit is derived for solutions of possibly degenerate Itô stochastic differential equations with predictable coefficients, which may depend also on the large deviation parameter. The result is established under mild assumptions using the Dupuis-Ellis weak convergence approach. Applications to certain systems with memory and to positive diffusions with square-root-like dispersion coefficient are included.
