On extension of the Yang-Baxter equation and the fermionic $R$-operator

We consider the fermionic $R$-operator based on Bazhanov-Stroganov's three-parameter elliptic parametrization of the free fermion model, and find the most general solution of the related tetrahedral Zamolodchikov algebra in the trigonometric limit for an arbitrary set of parameters. This allows to construct an extension of the $R$-operator and the corresponding Yang-Baxter equation, which are of the difference type in one of the spectral parameters.

Quantum integrability of a massive anisotropic SU(N) fermionic model

We consider a general anisotropic massive SU(N) fermionic model, and investigate its quantum integrability. In particular, by regularizing singular operator products, we derive a system of equations resulting in the S-matrix and find some non-trivial solutions. We illustrate our findings on the example of a SU(3) model, and show that the Yang-Baxter equation is satisfied in the massless limit for all coupling constants, while in the massive case the solutions are parameterized in terms of the exceptional solutions to the eight-vertex model.

On the quantization of continuous non-ultralocal integrable systems

We discuss the quantization of non-ultralocal integrable models directly in the continuous case, using the example of the Alday-Arutyunov-Frolov model. We show that by treating fields as distributions and regularizing the operator product, it is possible to avoid all the singularities, and allow to obtain results consistent with perturbative calculations. We illustrate these results by considering the reduction to the massive free fermion model and extracting the quantum Hamiltonian as well as other conserved charges directly from the regularized trace identities. Moreover, we show that our regularization recovers Maillet's prescription in the classical limit.

Integrable theories and generalized graded Maillet algebras

We present a general formalism to investigate the integrable properties of a large class of non-ultralocal models which in principle allows the construction of the corresponding lattice versions. Our main motivation comes from the su(1|1) subsector of the string theory on AdS_5 x S^5 in the uniform gauge, where such type of non-ultralocality appears in the resulting Alday-Arutyunov-Frolov (AAF) model. We first show how to account for the second derivative of the delta function in the Lax algebra of the AAF model by modifying Maillet's r- and s-matrices formalism, and derive a well-defined algebra of transition matrices, which allows for the lattice formulation of the theory. We illustrate our formalism on the examples of the bosonic Wadati-Konno-Ichikawa-Shimizu (WKIS) model and the two-dimensional free massive Dirac fermion model, which can be obtained by a consistent reduction of the full AAF model, and give the explicit forms of their corresponding r-matrices.

On the equivalence theorem for integrable systems

We investigate the equivalence theorem for integrable systems using two formulations of the Alday-Arutyunov-Frolov model. We show that the S-matrix is invariant under the field transformation which reduces the non-linear Dirac brackets of one formulation into the standard commutation relations in the second formulation. We also explain how to perform the direct diagonalization of the transformed Hamiltonian by constructing the states corresponding to self-adjoint extensions.

The r-matrix of the Alday-Arutyunov-Frolov model

We investigate the classical integrability of the Alday-Arutyunov-Frolov model, and show that the Lax connection can be reduced to a simpler 2 x 2 representation. Based on this result, we calculate the algebra between the L-operators and find that it has a highly non-ultralocal form. We then employ and make a suitable generalization of the regularization technique proposed by Maillet for a simpler class of non-ultralocal models, and find the corresponding r- and s-matrices. We also make a connection between the operator-regularization method proposed earlier for the quantum case, and the Maillet's symmetric limit regularization prescription used for non-ultralocal algebras in the classical theory.

Quantum integrability of the Alday-Arutyunov-Frolov model

We investigate the quantum integrability of the Alday-Arutyunov-Frolov (AAF) model by calculating the three-particle scattering amplitude at the first non-trivial order and showing that the S-matrix is factorizable at this order. We consider a more general fermionic model and find a necessary constraint to ensure its integrability at quantum level. We then show that the quantum integrability of the AAF model follows from this constraint. In the process, we also correct some missed points in earlier works.

Higher charges and regularized quantum trace identities in su(1,1) Landau-Lifshitz model

We solve the operator ordering problem for the quantum continuous integrable su(1,1) Landau-Lifshitz model, and give a prescription to obtain the quantum trace identities, and the spectrum for the higher-order local charges. We also show that this method, based on operator regularization and renormalization, which guarantees quantum integrability, as well as the construction of self-adjoint extensions, can be used as an alternative to the discretization procedure, and unlike the latter, is based only on integrable representations.

Thermodynamics of the quantum $su(1,1)$ Landau-Lifshitz model

We present thermodynamics of the quantum su(1,1) Landau-Lifshitz model, following our earlier exposition [J. Math. Phys. 50, 103518 (2009)] of the quantum integrability of the theory, which is based on construction of self-adjoint extensions, leading to a regularized quantum Hamiltonian for an arbitrary n-particle sector. Starting from general discontinuity properties of the functions used to construct the self-adjoint extensions, we derive the thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz equations. We show that due to non-symmetric and singular kernel, the self-consistency implies that only negative chemical potential values are allowed, which leads to the conclusion that, unlike its su(2) counterpart, the su(1,1) LL theory at T=0 has no instabilities.

On quantum integrability of the Landau-Lifshitz model

We investigate the quantum integrability of the Landau-Lifshitz model and solve the long-standing problem of finding the local quantum Hamiltonian for the arbitrary n-particle sector. The particular difficulty of the LL model quantization, which arises due to the ill-defined operator product, is dealt with by simultaneously regularizing the operator product, and constructing the self-adjoint extensions of a very particular structure. The diagonalizibility difficulties of the Hamiltonian of the LL model, due to the highly singular nature of the quantum-mechanical Hamiltonian, are also resolved in our method for the arbitrary n-particle sector. We explicitly demonstrate the consistency of our construction with the quantum inverse scattering method due to Sklyanin, and give a prescription to systematically construct the general solution, which explains and generalizes the puzzling results of Sklyanin for the particular two-particle sector case. Moreover, we demonstrate the S-matrix factorization and show that it is a consequence of the discontinuity conditions on the functions involved in the construction of the self-adjoint extensions.
