Deformed conformal symmetry of Kerr-Newman-NUT-AdS black holes

We find generators of the conformal symmetry for the class of Kerr-Newman-NUT-AdS black holes from the deformed scalar probe equation. We find two classes of solutions for the generators (also known as conformal J and Q pictures). The two classes of deformed generators are the extension of similar generators for the regular conformal symmetry. Moreover, we find that the two pictures can be generalized and extended into a general picture. In each picture, the generators produce an extended local family of SL(2,R)_L \times SL(2,R)_R hidden conformal symmetries for the Kerr-Newman-NUT-AdS black holes which are parameterized by one deformation parameter. We find the absorption cross-section of the scalar probes for the Kerr-Newman-NUT-AdS black holes, which in turn, supports the existence of Kerr/CFT correspondence. Moreover, our deformed conformal generators for the Kerr-Newman-NUT-AdS black holes provide the deformed conformal generators for the non-rotating Reissner-Nordstrom-NUT-AdS black holes.

Cosmological solutions in five dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory

We construct new classes of exact cosmological solutions to five dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton theory with two coupling constants for the dilaton-Maxwell term and dilaton-cosmological constant term. All the solutions are non-stationary and the solutions that both coupling constants are non-zero are almost regular everywhere. The size of spatial section of the asymptotic metric shrinks to zero at early time and increases to infinitely large at very late time. The cosmological constant depends on the dilaton coupling constant and can take positive, zero or negative values.

Exact convoluted solutions in higher-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory

We construct two classes of exact solutions to six and higher dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory in which the metric functions can be written as convolution-like integrals of two special functions. The solutions are regular everywhere and show a bolt structure on a single point in any dimensionality. Moreover, we find the exact nonstationary solutions to the Einstein-Maxwell theory with positive cosmological constant. We show that the cosmological solutions are expanding patches in asymptotically de Sitter spacetime.

Supergravity Solutions of Two M2 Branes

We present an exact analytic class of solutions for a system of two membranes in eleven-dimensional supergravity. One brane in the system is completely localized along the overall and relative transverse coordinates while the other brane in the system is localized only along the overall transverse coordinates. The membrane configuration preserves four supersymmetries. Moreover we find some approximate solutions for the system of two membranes with a Bianchi space as the overall transverse space to both membranes. All supergravity solutions preserve 1/8 of the supersymmetry. Upon dimensional reduction, the solutions provide intersecting configurations of three D-branes in type IIA supergravity.

DGP brane cosmology and quark-hadron phase transition

In the standard picture of cosmology it is predicted that a phase transition, associated with chiral symmetry breaking after the electroweak transition, has occurred at approximately 10 μseconds after the Big Bang to convert a plasma of free quarks and gluons into hadrons. We consider the quark-hadron phase transition in a DGP brane world scenario within an effective model of QCD. We study the evolution of the physical quantities useful for the study of the early universe, namely, the energy density, temperature and the scale factor before, during, and after the phase transition. Also, due to the high energy density in the early universe, we consider the quadratic energy density term that appears in the Friedmann equation. In DGP brane models such a term corresponds to the negative branch (ε=-1) of the Friedmann equation when the Hubble radius is much smaller than the crossover length in 4D and 5D regimes. We show that for different values of the cosmological constant on a brane, λ, phase transition occurs and results in decreasing the effective temperature of the quark-gluon plasma and of the hadronic fluid. We then consider the quark-hadron transition in the smooth crossover regime at high and low temperatures and show that such a transition occurs along with decreasing the effective temperature of the quark-gluon plasma during the process of the phase transition.

Hidden and Generalized Conformal Symmetry of Kerr-Sen Spacetimes

It is recently conjectured that generic non-extremal Kerr black hole could be holographically dual to a hidden conformal field theory in two dimensions. Moreover, it is known that there are two CFT duals (pictures) to describe the charged rotating black holes which correspond to angular momentum $J$ and electric charge $Q$ of the black hole. Furthermore these two pictures can be incorporated by the CFT duals (general picture) that are generated by $SL(2,\mathbb{Z})$ modular group. The general conformal structure can be revealed by looking at charged scalar wave equation in some appropriate values of frequency and charge. In this regard, we consider the wave equation of a charged massless scalar field in background of Kerr-Sen black hole and show in the "near region", the wave equation can be reproduced by the Casimir operator of a local $SL(2,\mathbb{R})_L \times SL(2,\mathbb{R})_R$ hidden conformal symmetry. We can find the exact agreement between macroscopic and microscopic physical quantities like entropy and absorption cross section of scalars for Kerr-Sen black hole. We then find an extension of vector fields that in turn yields an extended local family of $SL(2,\mathbb{R})_L \times SL(2,\mathbb{R})_R$ hidden conformal symmetries, parameterized by one parameter. For some special values of the parameter, we find a copy of $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$ hidden conformal algebra for the charged Gibbons-Maeda-Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger black hole in the strong deflection limit.

Holographic description of Kerr-Bolt-AdS-dS Spacetimes

We show that there exists a holographic 2D CFT description of a Kerr-Bolt-AdS-dS spacetime. We first consider the wave equation of a massless scalar field propagating in extremal Kerr-Bolt-AdS-dS spacetimes and find in the "near region", the wave equation in extremal limit could be written in terms of the $SL(2,R)$ quadratic Casimir. This suggests that there exist dual CFT descriptions of these black holes. In the probe limit, we compute the scattering amplitudes of the scalar off the extremal black holes and find perfect agreement with the CFT prediction. Furthermore we study the holographic description of the generic four dimensional non-extremal Kerr-Bolt-AdS-dS black holes. We find that if focusing on the near-horizon region, for the massless scalar scattering in the low-frequency limit, the radial equation could still be rewritten as the $SL(2,R)$ quadratic Casimir, suggesting the existence of dual 2D description. We read the temperatures of the dual CFT from the conformal coordinates and obtain the central charges by studying the near-horizon geometry of near-extremal black holes. We recover the macroscopic entropy from the microscopic counting. We also show that for the superradiant scattering, the retarded Green's functions and the corresponding absorption cross sections are in perfect match with CFT prediction.

Quark-hadron phase transition in Brans-Dicke brane gravity

A standard picture in cosmology has been emerging over the past decade in which a phase transition, associated with chiral symmetry breaking after the electroweak transition, has occurred at approximately $10^{-6}$ seconds after the Big Bang to convert a plasma of free quarks and gluons into hadrons. In this paper, we consider the quark-hadron phase transition in a Brans-Dicke brane world scenario within an effective model of QCD. We study the evolution of the physical quantities relevant to quantitative description of the early universe, namely, the energy density, temperature and the scale factor before, during, and after the phase transition. We show that for different values of the Brans-Dicke coupling, $ω$, phase transition occurs and results in decreasing the effective temperature of the quark-gluon plasma and of the hadronic fluid. We then move on to consider the quark-hadron transition in the smooth crossover regime at high and low temperatures and show that such a transition occurs and results in decreasing the effective temperature of the quark-gluon plasma during the process of quark-hadron phase transition.

Cosmological Solutions in Five Dimensional Minimal Supergravity

We construct new non-stationary cosmological solutions to five-dimensional minimal supergravity that don't have any tri-holomorphic U(1) isometries. Our new solutions, in part, contain some of the previously constructed solutions to the minimal supergravity. The c-function of solutions shows monotonic increasing/decreasing behaviour in time, in agreement with the expected behaviour of c-function in spacetimes with positive cosmological constant.

Cosmological Solutions on Atiyah-Hitchin Space in Five Dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons Theory

We construct non-stationary exact solutions to five dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory with positive cosmological constant. The solutions are based on four-dimensional Atiyah-Hitchin space. In asymptotic regions, the solutions approach to Gibbons-Perry-Sorkin monopole solutions. On the other hand, near the four-dimensional bolt of Atiyah-Hitchin space, our solutions show a bolt structure in five dimensions. The c-function for the solutions shows monotonic increase in time, in agreement with the general expected behaviour of c-function in asymptotically dS spacetimes.

Hidden Conformal Symmetry of Kerr-Bolt Spacetimes

We extend the recent proposal of hidden conformal symmetry to the four-dimensional spacetimes with rotational parameter and NUT twist. We consider the wave equation of a massless scalar field in background of Kerr-Bolt spacetimes and show in the "near region", the wave equation can be reproduced by the $SL(2,R)_L \times SL(2,R)_R$ Casimir quadratic operators. Moreover, we compute the microscopic entropy of the dual CFT by Cardy formula and find a perfect match to Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of Kerr-Bolt spacetimes. The absorption cross section of a near region scalar field also matches to microscopic absorption cross section of the dual CFT.

Atiyah-Hitchin in Five Dimensional Einstein-Maxwell Theory

We construct exact solutions to five-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell theory based on Atiyah-Hitchin space. The solutions cannot be written explicitly in a closed form, so their properties are investigated numerically. The five-dimensional metric is regular everywhere except on the location of original bolt in four-dimensional Atiyah-Hitchin base space. On each time-fixed slices, the metric, asymptotically approaches an Euclidean Taub-NUT space.

Kerr-Bolt Spacetimes and Kerr/CFT Correspondence

We investigate the recently proposed Kerr/CFT correspondence in the context of rotating spacetimes with a NUT twist. The Kerr/CFT correspondence states that the near-horizon states of an extremal four (or higher) dimensional black hole could be identified with a certain chiral conformal field theory. The corresponding Virasoro algebra is generated with a class of diffeomorphism which preserves an appropriate boundary condition on the near-horizon geometry. We try to understand the analog of singularities in the context of dual chiral CFT. Explicitly, we use Kerr/CFT correspondence to show that if we initially do not remove the singularities from the spacetimes, in the dual chiral CFT we can detect the presence of singularities in the bulk of spacetime.

Entropy and Mass Bounds of Kerr-de Sitter Spacetimes

We consider Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes and evaluate their mass, angular momentum and entropy according to the boundary counterterm prescription. We provide a physicall interpretation for angular velocity and angular momentum at future/past infinity. We show that the entropy of the four-dimensional Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes is less than of pure de Sitter spacetime in agreement to the entropic N-bound. Moreover, we show that maximal mass conjecture which states any asymptotically de Sitter spacetime with mass greater than de Sitter has a cosmological singularity is respected by asymptotically de Sitter spacetimes with rotation. We furthermore consider the possibility of strengthening the conjecture to state that any asymptotically dS spacetime will have mass greater than dS if and only if it has a cosmological singularity and find that Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes do not respect this stronger statement. We investigate the behavior of the c-function for the Kerr-de Sitter spacetimes and show that it is no longer isotropic. However an average of the c-function over the angular variables yields a renormalization group flow in agreement with the expansion of spacetime at future infinity.
