Measurement of the e+e−→ηπ+π−e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-} cross section with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider

The cross section of the process e+e−→ηπ+π−e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-} is measured using the data collected with the CMD-33 detector at the VEPP-20002000 collider in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.11.1 to 2.02.0 GeV. The decay mode η→γγη\rightarrowγγ is used for ηη meson reconstruction in the data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 78.378.3 pb−1^{-1}. The energy dependence of the e+e−→ηπ+π−e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-} cross section is fitted within the framework of vector meson dominance in order to extract the Γ(ρ(1450)→+e−)B(ρ(1450)→ηπ+π−)Γ(ρ(1450)\rightarrow{^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(ρ(1450)\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-}) and the Γ(ρ(1700)→e+e−)B(ρ(1700)→ηπ+π−)Γ(ρ(1700)\rightarrow{e^{+}e^{-}})\mathcal{B}(ρ(1700)\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-}) products. Based on conservation of vector current, the analysed data are used to test the relationship between the e+e−→ηπ+π−e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-} cross section and the spectral function in τ−→ηπ−π0νττ^-\rightarrowηπ^-π^0ν_τ decay. The e+e−→ηπ+π−e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrowηπ^{+}π^{-} cross section measured with the CMD-33 detector is in good agreement with the previous measurements.

Measurement of the e+e−→K+K−π+π−e^+e^- \to K^+K^-π^+π^- cross section with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 collider

The process e+e−→K+K−π+π−e^+e^- \to K^+K^-π^+π^- has been studied in the center-of-mass energy range from 1500 to 2000\,MeV using a data sample of 23 pb−1^{-1} collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e−e^+e^- collider. Using about 24000 selected events, the e+e−→K+K−π+π−e^+e^- \to K^+K^-π^+π^- cross section has been measured with a systematic uncertainty decreasing from 11.7\% at 1500-1600\,MeV to 6.1\% above 1800\,MeV. A preliminary study of K+K−π+π−K^+K^-π^+π^- production dynamics has been performed.

Study of the process e+e−→ppˉe^+e^-\to p\bar{p} in the c.m. energy range from threshold to 2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector

Using a data sample of 6.8 pb−1^{-1} collected with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e−e^+e^- collider we select about 2700 events of the e+e−→ppˉe^+e^- \to p\bar{p} process and measure its cross section at 12 energy ponts with about 6\% systematic uncertainty. From the angular distribution of produced nucleons we obtain the ratio ∣GE/GM∣=1.49±0.23±0.30|G_{E}/G_{M}| = 1.49 \pm 0.23 \pm 0.30.

Search for the process e+e−→η′(958)e^+e^-\to η^\prime(958) with the CMD-3 detector

A search for the process $\epem\to η^\prime(958)$ in the $\pipiη\to\pipiγγ$ final state has been performed with the CMD-3 detector at the VEPP-2000 e+e−e^+e^- collider. Using an integrated luminosity of 2.69 pb−1^{-1} collected at the center-of-mass energy \Ecm = 957.68 MeV we set an upper limit for the product of electronic width and branching fractions $Γ_{η^\prime(958)\to\epem}\cdot\BR_{η^\prime(958)\to\pipiη}\cdot\BR_{η\toγγ}<0.00041$ eV at 90\% C.L.

Measurement of ϕϕ(1020) meson leptonic width with CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M Collider

The ϕϕ(1020) meson leptonic width has been determined from the combined analysis of 4 major decay modes of the resonance (ϕ→K+K−,KL0KS0,π+π−π0,ηγϕ\to K^+ K^-,K^0_LK^0_S,π^+π^-π^0,ηγ) studied with the CMD-2 detector at the VEPP-2M e+e−e^+e^- collider. The following value has been obtained: Γ(ϕ→e+e−)=1.235±0.006±0.022Γ(ϕ\to e^+e^-) = 1.235\pm 0.006\pm 0.022 keV. The ϕ(1020)ϕ(1020) meson parameters in four main decay channels have been also recalculated: B(ϕ→K+K−)=0.493±0.003±0.007B(ϕ\to K^+K^-) = 0.493\pm 0.003\pm 0.007, B(ϕ→KLKS)=0.336±0.002±0.006B(ϕ\to K_LK_S) = 0.336\pm 0.002\pm 0.006, B(ϕ→π+π−π0)=0.155±0.002±0.005B(ϕ\toπ^+π^-π^0) = 0.155\pm 0.002\pm 0.005, B(ϕ→ηγ)=0.0138±0.0002±0.0002B(ϕ\toηγ) = 0.0138\pm 0.0002\pm 0.0002.

Monte-Carlo Generator Photon Jets for the process e+e- -> gamma gamma

Monte-Carlo generator with photon jets radiation in collinear regions for the process \eegg is described in detail. Radiative corrections in the first order of αα are treated exactly. Large leading logarithmic corrections coming from collinear regions are taken into account in all orders of αα by applying the Structure Function approach. Theoretical precision of the cross section with radiative corrections is estimated to be 0.2%. This process is considered as an additional tool to measure luminosity in forthcoming experiments with the CMD-3 detector at the e+e−e^+e^- collider VEPP-2000.

Quest for precision in hadronic cross sections at low energy: Monte Carlo tools vs. experimental data

We present the achievements of the last years of the experimental and theoretical groups working on hadronic cross section measurements at the low energy e+e- colliders in Beijing, Frascati, Ithaca, Novosibirsk, Stanford and Tsukuba and on tau decays. We sketch the prospects in these fields for the years to come. We emphasise the status and the precision of the Monte Carlo generators used to analyse the hadronic cross section measurements obtained as well with energy scans as with radiative return, to determine luminosities and tau decays. The radiative corrections fully or approximately implemented in the various codes and the contribution of the vacuum polarisation are discussed.

The process e+ e- -> phi -> K+ K- has been studied with the CMD-2 detector using about 542 000 events detected in the center-of-mass energy range from 1.01 to 1.034 GeV. The systematic error of the cross section is estimated to be 2.2%. The phi(1020) meson parameters in the phi -> K+K- decay channel have been measured: sigma_0(phi-> K+K-) = 2016 +- 8 +- 44 nb, m(phi) = 1019.441 +- 0.008 +- 0.080 MeV/c2, Gamma(phi) = 4.24 +- 0.02 +- 0.03 MeV, B(e+e-)B(K+K-) = (14.27 +- 0.05 +- 0.31)*10(-5).
