Explicit solutions for nonlocal NLS: GBDT and algebro-geometric approaches

We apply the GBDT version of the Bäcklund-Darboux transformation to the nonlocal NLS (focusing and defocusing cases). The matrix case is included and solutions in the form of rectangular $m_1 \times m_2$ matrix functions are dealt with. The wave function is also constructed explicitly. Families of explicit examples are considered in detail. Some initial results and representations for the more complicated algebro-geometric solutions are obtained as well.

General-type discrete self-adjoint Dirac systems: explicit solutions of direct and inverse problems, asymptotics of Verblunsky-type coefficients and stability of solving inverse problem

We consider discrete self-adjoint Dirac systems determined by the potentials (sequences) $\{C_k\}$ such that the matrices $C_k$ are positive definite and $j$-unitary, where $j$ is a diagonal $m\times m$ matrix and has $m_1$ entries $1$ and $m_2$ entries $-1$ ($m_1+m_2=m$) on the main diagonal. We construct systems with rational Weyl functions and explicitly solve inverse problem to recover systems from the contractive rational Weyl functions. Moreover, we study the stability of this procedure. The matrices $C_k$ (in the potentials) are so called Halmos extensions of the Verblunsky-type coefficients $ρ_k$. We show that in the case of the contractive rational Weyl functions the coefficients $ρ_k$ tend to zero and the matrices $C_k$ tend to the indentity matrix $I_m$.

Skew-selfadjoint Dirac systems with rational rectangular Weyl functions: explicit solutions of direct and inverse problems and integrable wave equations

In this paper we study direct and inverse problems for discrete and continuous time skew-selfadjoint Dirac systems with rectangular (possibly non-square) pseudo-exponential potentials. For such a system the Weyl function is a strictly proper rational rectangular matrix function and any strictly proper rational matrix function appears in this way. In fact, extending earlier results, given a strictly proper rational matrix function we present an explicit procedure to recover the corresponding potential using techniques from mathematical system and control theory. We also introduce and study a nonlinear generalized discrete Heisenberg magnet model, extending earlier results for the isotropic case. A large part of the paper is devoted to the related discrete time systems of which the pseudo-exponential potential depends on an additional continuous time parameter. Our techniques allows us to obtain explicit solutions for the generalized discrete Heisenberg magnet model and evolution of the Weyl functions.

Discrete Dirac system: rectangular Weyl functions, direct and inverse problems

A transfer matrix function representation of the fundamental solution of the general-type discrete Dirac system, corresponding to rectangular Schur coefficients and Weyl functions, is obtained. Connections with Szegö recurrence, Schur coefficients and structured matrices are treated. Borg-Marchenko-type uniqueness theorem is derived. Inverse problems on the interval and semiaxis are solved.

Operator identities corresponding to inverse problems

The structured operators and corresponding operator identities, which appear in inverse problems for the self-adjoint and skew-self-adjoint Dirac systems with rectangular potentials, are studied in detail. In particular, it is shown that operators with the close to displacement kernels are included in this class. A special case of positive and factorizable operators is dealt with separately.

Recovery of Dirac system from the rectangular Weyl matrix function

Weyl theory for Dirac systems with rectangular matrix potentials is non-classical. The corresponding Weyl functions are rectangular matrix functions. Furthermore, they are non-expansive in the upper semi-plane. Inverse problems are treated for such Weyl functions, and some results are new even for the square Weyl functions. High energy asymptotics of Weyl functions and Borg-Marchenko type uniqueness results are derived too.

Skew-self-adjoint Dirac systems with a rectangular matrix potential: Weyl theory, direct and inverse problems

A non-classical Weyl theory is developed for skew-self-adjoint Dirac systems with rectangular matrix potentials. The notion of the Weyl function is introduced and direct and inverse problems are solved. A Borg-Marchenko type uniqueness result and the evolution of the Weyl function for the corresponding focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation are also derived.

Time-dependent Schroedinger equation in dimension $k+1$: explicit and rational solutions via GBDT and multinodes

A version of the binary Darboux transformation is constructed for non-stationary Schroedinger equation in dimension $k+1$, where $k$ is the number of space variables, $k \geq 1$. This is an iterated GBDT version. New families of non-singular and rational potentials and solutions are obtained. Some results are new for the case that $k=1$ too. A certain generalization of a colligation introduced by M.S. Livsic and of the $S$-node introduced by L.A. Sakhnovich is successfully used in our construction.

Weyl functions of Dirac systems and of their generalizations: integral representation, inverse problem, and discrete interpolation

Self-adjoint Dirac systems and subclasses of canonical systems, which generalize Dirac systems are studied. Explicit and global solutions of direct and inverse problems are obtained. A local Borg-Marchenko-type theorem, integral representation of the Weyl function, and results on interpolation of Weyl functions are also derived.

Krein systems and canonical systems on a finite interval: accelerants with a jump discontinuity at the origin and continuous potentials

This paper is devoted to connections between accelerants and potentials of Krein systems and of canonical systems of Dirac type, both on a finite interval. It is shown that a continuous potential is always generated by an accelerant, provided the latter is continuous with a possible jump discontinuity at the origin. Moreover, the generating accelerant is uniquely determined by the potential. The results are illustrated on pseudo-exponential potentials. The paper is a continuation of the earlier paper of the authors [1] dealing with the direct problem for Krein systems.

Semiseparable integral operators and explicit solution of an inverse problem for the skew-self-adjoint Dirac-type system

Inverse problem to recover the skew-self-adjoint Dirac-type system from the generalized Weyl matrix function is treated in the paper. Sufficient conditions under which the unique solution of the inverse problem exists, are formulated in terms of the Weyl function and a procedure to solve the inverse problem is given. The case of the generalized Weyl functions of the form $ϕ(λ)\exp\{-2iλD\}$, where $ϕ$ is a strictly proper rational matrix function and $D=D^* \geq 0$ is a diagonal matrix, is treated in greater detail. Explicit formulas for the inversion of the corresponding semiseparable integral operators and recovery of the Dirac-type system are obtained for this case.
