Matching heavy-quark fields in QCD and HQET at three loops

The relation between the heavy-quark field in QCD and the corresponding field in HQET is derived up to three loops, and to all orders in the large-$β_0$ limit. The corresponding relation between the QED electron field and the Bloch--Nordsieck one is gauge invariant to all orders. We also prove that the $\bar{\text{MS}}$ anomalous dimension of the QED electron field depends on the gauge parameter only at one loop.

The B-meson mass splitting from non-perturbative quenched lattice QCD

We perform the non-perturbative (quenched) renormalization of the chromo-magnetic operator in Heavy Quark Effective Theory and its three-loop matching to QCD. At order 1/m of the expansion, the operator is responsible for the mass splitting between the pseudoscalar and vector B-mesons. These new computed factors are affected by an uncertainty negligible in comparison to the known bare matrix element of the operator between B-states. Furthermore, they push the quenched determination of the spin splitting for the Bs-meson much closer to its experimental value than the previous perturbatively renormalized computations. The renormalization factor for three commonly used heavy quark actions and the Wilson gauge action and useful parametrizations of the matching coefficient are provided.

Correlator of heavy-quark currents at small q^2 in the large-beta_0 limit

The correlator of vector heavy-quark currents at small q^2 is considered in the large-beta_0 limit. The leading IR renormalon ambiguity of the sum of the perturbative series is canceled by the UV renormalon ambiguity of the gluon condensate. Asymptotic behaviour of the perturbative series is obtained in a model-independent way, up to a single unknown normalization factor. Gluon-virtuality distribution functions for the perturbative correction are calculated.

Baryonic currents and their correlators in the Heavy Quark Effective Theory

HQET currents with the quantum numbers of the ground-state baryons are discussed. One-loop anomalous dimensions are calculated, and exact one-loop matching to QCD currents is found. Two-point correlators of these currents are calculated taking into account $d\le9$ terms of the OPE. Sum rules for heavy baryons Lambda_Q and Sigma^(*)_Q are analyzed. Three-point correlators of two baryonic currents and a heavy-heavy velocity changing current are calculated with the same accuracy. The baryonic Isgur-Wise form factors are estimated from the corresponding sum rules.

Operator product expansion in static-quark effective field theory: large perturbative correction

We calculate the coefficients of operators with dimensions d <= 7 in the operator product expansion of correlators of q Gamma Q currents, for the effective field theory of an infinite-mass quark, Q. Exact two-loop results are obtained, with an arbitrary gauge group and spacetime dimension, for the perturbative (d=0) and quark-condensate (d=3) contributions, confirming our previous result for the anomalous dimension of the current. Leading-order results are given for light-quark operators with d=5, 6, 7 and gluon operators with d=4, 6. The existence of a perturbative correction of order 100% precludes a reliable determination of f_B from non-relativistic sum rules.

Two-loop renormalization of the effective field theory of a static quark

We give a recurrence relation for two-loop integrals encountered in the effective field theory of an infinitely heavy quark, Q, interacting with gluons and Nl massless quarks, q, from which we obtain exact two-loop results, in any dimension and covariant gauge, for the propagator of Q and the vertex function of the heavy-light current J = Q Gamma q, at zero q momentum. The anomalous dimension of the Q field agrees with the recent result of Broadhurst, Gray and Schilcher. The anomalous dimension of the current is gamma_J = d log Z_J / d log mu = - alpha_s/pi (1 + (127 + 56 zeta(2) - 10 Nl)/72) alpha_s/pi + O(alpha_s^2)) which gives the new two-loop correction to the result of Voloshin and Shifman.

Effect of m_c on b quark chromomagnetic interaction and on-shell two-loop integrals with two masses

The effect of non-zero c quark mass on b quark HQET Lagrangian, up to 1/m_b level, is calculated at two loops. The results are expressed in terms of dilogarithmic functions of m_c/m_b. This calculation involves on-shell two-loop propagator-type diagrams with two different masses, m_b and m_c. A general algorithm for reducing such Feynman integrals to the basis of two nontrivial and two trivial integrals is constructed.

Couplings of heavy hadrons with soft pions from QCD sum rules

We estimate the couplings in the Heavy Hadron Chiral Theory (HHCT) lagrangian from the QCD sum rules in an external axial field. We take into account the perturbative correction to the meson correlator in the infinite mass limit. With the perturbative correction and three successive power corrections, the meson correlator in an axial field becomes one of the best known correlators. In spite of this, the corresponding sum rule is not very stable. It yields the result g_1 F^2/(380MeV)^3 = 0.1 - 0.2, where F^2 = f_M^2 m/4 = (380MeV)^3 is the central value of the heavy meson decay constant with the perturbative correction. This result is surprisingly low as compared with the constituent quark model estimate g_1 = 0.75. The sum rules for g_{2,3} following from nondiagonal Sigma-Sigma and diagonal Lambda-Sigma baryon correlators in an external axial field suggest g_{2,3} = 0.4 - 0.7, while diagonal Sigma-Sigma and nondiagonal Lambda-Sigma baryon sum rules have too large uncertainties.

Methods of calculation of higher power corrections in QCD

Although the methods of calculation of power corrections in QCD sum rules are well known, algebraic complexity rapidly grows with the increase of vacuum condensates' dimensions. Currently, state-of-the-art calculations include dimension 7 and 8 condensates. I summarize and extend algorithms of such calculations. First, I present all the formulae necessary for application of the systematic classification of bilinear quark condensates proposed earlier, and extend this method to the case of gluon condensates. Then I apply these systematic procedures to expansions of bilinear and noncollinear quark and gluon condensates in local ones, and of noncollinear condensates in bilocal ones. The formulae obtained can be used for calculation of correlators involving nonlocal condensates, and for inventing consistent anzatzs for these condensates. Finally, I briefly summarize the methods of calculation of heavy- and light-quark currents' correlators. This paper is aimed both to present new results on gluon and nonlocal condensates and to be a self-contained handbook of formulae necessary for calculation of power corrections in QCD sum rules.

Renormalized sum rules for structure functions of heavy mesons decays

We consider properties of the structure functions of inclusive heavy meson decays $B\to X_c$ and treat the $c$ quark mass as a free parameter. We show that in two extreme cases of heavy and light $c$ quark the structure functions of heavy--heavy and heavy--light transitions are given by a Fourier transform of the matrix elements of Wilson lines containing a time--like and a light--like segment, correspondingly. Using the renormalization properties of Wilson lines we find the dependence of the structure functions on the factorization scale, the structure function of heavy--heavy transition is renormalized multiplicatively while that of heavy-light transition obeys the GLAP--type evolution equation. We propose a generalization of the sum rules for the moments of the structure functions (Bjorken, Voloshin, and the ``third'' sum rules) with a soft exponential factorization cut--off, which correctly incorporates both perturbative and nonperturbative effects. We analyze nonperturbative corrections by first considering infrared renormalon contributions to the Wilson lines. Uncertainties induced by the leading renormalon pole at $u=\frac12$ are exactly cancelled by the similar uncertainty in the heavy quark pole mass. The leading nonperturbative corrections associated with the next renormalon at $u=1$ are parameterized by the matrix element $μ_π^2$ which is proportional to the heavy quark kinetic energy.
