Energy interval 3S-1S in muonic hydrogen

The energy interval $ (3S-1S) $ in muonic hydrogen is calculated on the basis of quasipotential approach in quantum electrodynamics. We take into account different corrections of orders $α^3÷α^6 $, which are determined by relativistic effects, the effects of vacuum polarization, nuclear structure and recoil, as well as combined corrections including the above. Nuclear structure effects are expressed in terms of the charge radius of the proton in the case of one-photon interaction and the proton electromagnetic form factors in the case of two-photon exchange interaction. The value of the energy interval (3S-1S) can be used for a comparison with future experimental data and determining the proton charge radius with greater accuracy.

Photonic production of the pair of $B_c$ mesons

We study the pair production of $B_c$ mesons in the photon-photon interaction in the framework of perturbative quantum chromodynamics and the relativistic quark model. The production amplitudes of a pair of pseudoscalar and vector $B_c$ mesons are constructed in the nonrelativistic approximation and taking into account relativistic effects. Relativistic corrections related to the relative motion of heavy quarks in the production amplitude, as well as in the wave function of the bound state of heavy quarks, are taken into account. Analytical expressions are constructed for the relativistic differential and total cross sections for the pair $B_c$ meson production. Based on them, numerical values of the production cross sections are obtained for various energies and scattering angles.

Hyperfine structure of P states in muonic ions of lithium, beryllium and boron

We calculate hyperfine structure intervals $ΔE^{hfs}(2P_{1/2})$ and $ΔE^{hfs}(2P_{3/2})$ for P-states in muonic ions of lithium, beryllium and boron. To construct the particle interaction operator in momentum space we use the tensor method of projection operators on states with definite quantum numbers of total atomic momentum F and total muon momentum j. We take into account vacuum polarization, relativistic, quadruple and structure corrections of orders $α^4$, $α^5$ and $α^6$. The obtained numerical values of hyperfine splittings can be used for a comparison with future experimental data of the CREMA collaboration.

Dynamical quark loop light-by-light contribution to muon g-2 within the nonlocal chiral quark model

The hadronic corrections to the muon anomalous magnetic moment a_mu, due to the gauge-invariant set of diagrams with dynamical quark loop light-by-light scattering insertions, are calculated in the framework of the nonlocal chiral quark model. These results complete calculations of all hadronic light-by-light scattering contributions to a_mu in the leading order in the 1/Nc expansion. The result for the quark loop contribution is a_mu^{HLbL,Loop}=(11.0+-0.9)*10^(-10), and the total result is a_mu^{HLbL,NxQM}=(16.8+-1.2)*10^(-10).

Hadronic contribution from light by light processes in (g-2) of muon in nonlocal quark model

The hadronic corrections to the muon anomalous magnetic moment, due to the full gauge-invariant set of diagrams with dynamical quark loop and intermediate pseudoscalar and scalar states light-by-light scattering insertions, are calculated in the framework of the nonlocal chiral quark model. These diagrams correspond to all hadronic light-by-light scattering contributions to $a_μ$ in the leading order of the $1/N_{c}$ expansion in quark model. The result for the quark loop contribution is $a_μ^{\mathrm{HLbL,Loop}}=\left( 11.0\pm0.9\right) \cdot10^{-10}$, and the total result is $a_μ^{\mathrm{HLbL,NχQM}}=\left(16.8\pm1.2\right) \cdot 10^{-10}$.

Status of the lepton g-2 and effects of hadronic corrections

The electron and muon anomalous magnetic moments (AMM) are measured in experiments and studied in the Standard Model (SM) with the highest precision accessible in particle physics. The comparison of the measured quantity with the SM prediction for the electron AMM provides the best determination of the fine structure constant. The muon AMM is more sensitive to the appearance of New Physics effects and, at present, there appears to be a three- to four-standard deviation between the SM and experiment. The lepton AMMs are pure relativistic quantum correction effects and therefore test the foundations of relativistic quantum field theory in general, and of quantum electrodynamics (QED) and SM in particular, with highest sensitivity. Special attention is paid to the studies of the hadronic contributions to the muon AMM which constitute the main source of theoretical uncertainties of the SM.

Pion transition form factor in the constituent quark model

We calculate the transition form factor of the neutral pion where one photon is virtual and another photon is real in the model where the light constituent quark mass and the quark-pion vertex are taken to be momentum independent. Radiative corrections to the lowest order triangle quark Feynman amplitude are calculated. The resummation of the lowest radiative corrections to the virtual photon vertex is done by applying the Sudakov exponential hypothesis. Using fitting parameters, the quark mass and the strong coupling constant, the results on the pion transition form factor are compared with existing data published by CELLO, CLEO, BaBar and Belle collaborations.

The light-by-light contribution to the muon (g-2) from lightest pseudoscalar and scalar mesons within nonlocal chiral quark model

The light-by-light contribution from the lightest neutral pseudoscalar and scalar mesons to the anomalous magnetic moment of muon is calculated in the framework of the nonlocal SU(3)x SU(3) quark model. The model is based on chirally symmetric four-quark interaction of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio type and Kobayashi-Maskawa-t`Hooft U_A(1) breaking six-quark interaction. Full kinematic dependence of vertices with off-shell mesons and photons in intermediate states in the light-by-light scattering amplitude is taken into account. The small positive contributions from the scalar mesons stabilize the total result with respect to change of model parameters and reduces to a_μ^{LbL,PS+S}=(6.25\pm 0.83)x10^{-10}.

The meson-exchange induced light--by--light contribution to $(g-2)_μ$ within the nonlocal chiral quark model

The current status of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (AMM) problem is briefly presented. The corrections to the muon AMM coming from the effects of hadronic light-by-light (LbL) scattering due to light quark-antiquark exchange in pseudoscalar and scalar channels are estimated within the nonlocal chiral quark model (N$χ$QM). Within this approach the full kinematic dependence on the photon and meson virtualities are taken into account. As a result, the meson exchange contributions to the muon AMM calculated within N$χ$QM are, in general, smaller than the contributions obtained within other models. The contribution from the scalar channel is positive and small, but stabilizes the combined with pseudoscalar channel result with respect to variation of the model parameters.

Bound States in Gauge Theories as the Poincare Group Representations

The bound state generating functional is constructed in gauge theories. This construction is based on the Dirac Hamiltonian approach to gauge theories, the Poincaré group classification of fields and their nonlocal bound states, and the Markov-Yukawa constraint of irreducibility. The generating functional contains additional anomalous creations of pseudoscalar bound states: para-positronium in QED and mesons in QCD in the two gamma processes of the type of γ+ γ= π_0+para-positronium. The functional allows us to establish physically clear and transparent relations between the perturbative QCD to its nonperturbative low energy model by means of normal ordering and the quark and gluon condensates. In the limit of small current quark masses, the Gell-Mann-Oakes-Renner relation is derived from the Schwinger-Dyson (SD) and Bethe-Salpeter (BS) equations. The constituent quark masses can be calculated from a self-consistent non-linear equation.

Pseudoscalar meson form factors and decays

In this communication we discuss few topics related with modern experimental data on the physics of light pseudoscalar mesons. It includes the contribution of the pseudoscalar mesons to the muon anomalous magnetic moment (AMM), $g-2$, the rare decays of light pseudoscalar mesons to lepton pair, the transition form factors of pseudoscalar mesons at large momentum transfer, the pion transversity form factor. Measuring the muon anomalous magnetic moment $g-2$ and the rare decays of light pseudoscalar mesons into lepton pair $P\rightarrow l^{+}l^{-} $ serve as important test of the standard model. To reduce the theoretical uncertainty in the standard model predictions the data on the transition form factors of light pseudoscalar mesons play significant role. Recently new data on behavior of these form factors at large momentum transfer was supplied by the BABAR collaboration. Within the nonlocal chiral quark model it shown how to describe these data and how the meson distribution amplitude evolves as a function of the dynamical quark masses and meson masses.

The pseudoscalar hadronic channel contribution of the light-by-light process to the muon (g-2) within the nonlocal chiral quark model

The light-by-light contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of muon (g-2)_μ from the hadronic exchanges in the neutral pseudoscalar meson channel is calculated in the nonlocal chiral quark model. The full kinematic dependence of the meson-two-photon vertices on the virtualities of the mesons and photons is taken into account. The status of various phenomenological and QCD short-distance constraints is discussed and the comparison with the predictions of other models is performed. It is demonstrated that the effect of the full kinematic dependence in the meson-photon vertices is to reduce the contribution of pseudoscalar exchages to a_μ^{PS,LbL} by approximately factor 1.5 in comparison with the most of previous estimates.

How the recent BABAR data for P to γγ* affect the Standard Model predictions for the rare decays P to l+l-

Measuring the lepton anomalous magnetic moments $(g-2)$ and the rare decays of light pseudoscalar mesons into lepton pairs $P\to l^{+}l^{-} $, serve as important tests of the Standard Model. To reduce the theoretical uncertainty in the standard model predictions, the data on the charge and transition form factors of the light pseudoscalar mesons play a significant role. Recently, new data on the behavior of the transition form factors $P\toγγ* $ at large momentum transfer were supplied by the BABAR collaboration. There are several problems with the theoretical interpretation of these data: 1) An unexpectedly slow decrease of the pion transition form factor at high momenta, 2) the qualitative difference in the behavior of the pion form factor and the $η$ and $η^\prime$ form factors at high momenta, 3) the inconsistency of the measured ratio of the $η$ and $η^\prime$ form factors with the predicted one. We comment on the influence of the new BABAR data on the rare decay branchings.

Photon-pion transition form factor: BABAR puzzle is cracked

Recently, the BABAR collaboration published (arXiv:0905.4778) data for the photon-pion transition form factor $F_{πγγ^{\ast}}(Q^{2})$, which are in strong contradiction to the predictions of the standard factorization approach to perturbative QCD. Immediately afterwards, two mechanisms were suggested (A.E. Dorokhov, arXiv:0905.4577; A.V. Radyushkin, arXiv:0906.0323), that logarithmically enhance the form factor asymptotics and therefore provide a qualitatively satisfactory description of the BABAR data. However, the physics of the BABAR effect was not fully clarified. In the present work, based on a nonperturbative approach to the QCD vacuum and on rather universal assumptions, we show that there exists two asymptotic regimes for the pion transition form factor. One regime with asymptotics $F_{πγ^{\ast}γ}(Q^{2})\sim1/Q^{2}$ corresponds to the result of the standard QCD factorization approach, while other violates the standard factorization and leads to asymptotic behavior as $F_{πγ^{\ast}γ}(Q^{2})\sim\ln(Q^{2})Q^{2}$. Furthermore, considering specific nonlocal chiral quark models, we find the region of parameters, where the existing CELLO, CLEO and BABAR data for the pion transition form factor are successfully described.

Muon g-2, rare decays P \to l^+l^- and transition form factors P \to γγ^*

Measuring the muon anomalous magnetic moment g-2 and the rare decays of light pseudoscalar mesons into lepton pair P \to l+l- serve as important test of the standard model. To reduce the theoretical uncertainty in the standard model predictions the data on the transition form factors of light pseudoscalar mesons play significant role. Recently new data on behavior of these form factors at large momentum transfer was supplied by the BABAR collaboration. We comment on the (in)consistency of these data with perturbative QCD expectation.

Rare decay π^0 \to e^+e^- as a Test of Standard Model

Experimental and theoretical progress concerning the rare decay π^0 \to e^+e^- is briefly reviewed. It includes the latest data from KTeV and a new model independent estimate of the decay branching which show the deviation between experiment and theory at the level of $3.3σ$. The predictions for ηand η' decays into lepton pair are presented. We also comment on the impact on the pion rare decay estimate of the BABAR collaboration on the pion transition form factor at large momentum transfer.

Single Spin Asymmetries in High Energy Reactions and Nonperturbative QCD Effects

We discuss some experimental and theoretical results on single spin asymmetries (SSA) in high energy lepton-hadron and hadron-hadron reactions. In particular, recent results on meson SSA obtained by HERMES are considered in detail. We also discuss the SSA results obtained recently by COMPASS, as well as those from BRAHMS, PHENIX and STAR. Special attention is paid to a possible nonperturbative QCD mechanism that might be responsible for the observed meson SSA. This mechanism originates from the spin-flip quark-gluon chromomagnetic interaction induced by the complex topological structure of the QCD vacuum. We argue that in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering a large SSA is expected not only for mesons but also for baryons due to strong nonperturbative final state interactions between $ud$-diquark and $u$-quark in the fragmenting proton.

Pion distribution amplitudes within the instanton model of QCD vacuum

Pion transition form factor for the process $γ*γ*\to π^0$ at space-like values of photon momenta is calculated within the effective quark-meson model with the interaction induced by instanton exchange. The leading and next-to-leading order power asymptotics of the form factor and the relation between the light-cone pion distribution amplitudes of twists 2 and 4 and the dynamically generated quark mass are found.

Transition form factors and light-cone distribution amplitudes of pseudoscalar mesons in the chiral quark model

It is shown that a chiral quark model of the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio type can be used to describe "soft"-momenta parts of the amplitudes with large momentum transfer. As a sample, the processes γ^* --> γ(π,η,η') where one of the photons, γ^*, has large space-like virtuality is investigated. The γ^* --> γ(π,η,η')$ transition form factors are calculated for a wide region of transferred momenta. The results are consistent with the calculations performed in the instanton-induced chiral quark model and agree with experimental data. The distribution amplitudes of pseudoscalar mesons are derived.

Gluon Field Strength Correlation Functions within a Constrained Instanton Model

We suggest a constrained instanton (CI) solution in the physical QCD vacuum which is described by large-scale vacuum field fluctuations. This solution decays exponentially at large distances. It is stable only if the interaction of the instanton with the background vacuum field is small and additional constraints are introduced. The CI solution is explicitly constructed in the ansatz form, and the two-point vacuum correlator of gluon field strengths is calculated in the framework of the effective instanton vacuum model. At small distances the results are qualitatively similar to the single instanton (SI) case, in particular, the form factor $D_{1}$ is small, which is in agreement with the lattice calculations.

Virtualities of Quarks and Gluons in QCD Vacuum and Nonlocal Condensates within Single Instanton Approximation

We calculate the lowest-dimensional nonlocal quark and gluon condensates within the single instanton approximation of the instanton liquid model. As a result, we determine the values of average virtualities of quarks $λ_q^2$ and gluons $λ_g^2$ in the QCD vacuum and obtain parameterless predictions for the ratio $λ_g^2/λ_q^2 = 12/5$, and for some ratios of different vacuum condensates of higher dimensions. The nonlocal properties of quark and gluon condensates are analyzed, and insufficiency of the single instanton approximation is discussed.
