Bottomonium Hyperfine Splitting on the Lattice and in the Continuum

We revise the analysis of the bottomonium hyperfine splitting within the lattice nonrelativistic QCD. The Wilson coefficients of the radiatively improved lattice action are evaluated by a semianalytic approach based on the asymptotic expansion about the continuum limit. The nonrelativistic renormalization group is used to estimate the high-order radiative corrections. Our result for the $1S$ hyperfine splitting is $M_{Υ(1S)}-M_{η_b(1S)}=52.9\pm 5.5~{\rm MeV}$. It reconciles the predictions of the continuum and lattice QCD and is in very good agreement with the most accurate experimental measurement by Belle collaboration.

Next-to-Next-to-Leading Electroweak Logarithms for W-Pair Production at LHC

We derive the high energy asymptotic of one- and two-loop corrections in the next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic approximation to the differential cross section of $W$-pair production at the LHC. For large invariant mass of the W-pair the (negative) one-loop terms can reach more than 40%, which are partially compensated by the (positive) two-loop terms of up to 10%.

Two-loop electroweak corrections to high energy large-angle Bhabha scattering

We compute the dominant logarithmically enhanced two-loop electroweak corrections to the electron-positron scattering differential cross section in the high energy limit for large scattering angles. Depending on the scattering angle and energy the two-loop corrections may exceed one percent and are important for the high-precision luminosity spectrum determination at a future linear collider.

$M(η_b)$ and $α_s$ from Nonrelativistic Renormalization Group

We sum up the next-to-leading logarithmic corrections to the heavy-quarkonium hyperfine splitting using the nonrelativistic renormalization group. On the basis of this result, we predict the mass of the $η_b$ meson to be $M(η_b)=9419 \pm 11 {(\rm th)} {}^{+9}_{-8} (δα_s) MeV$. The experimental measurement of $M(η_b)$ with a few MeV error would be sufficient to determine $α_s(M_Z)$ with an accuracy of $\pm 0.003$. The use of the nonrelativistic renormalization group is mandatory to reproduce the experimental value of the hyperfine splitting in charmonium.

Spin Dependence of Heavy Quarkonium Production and Annihilation Rates: Complete Next-to-Next-to-Leading Logarithmic result

The ratio of the photon mediated production or annihilation rates of spin triplet and spin singlet heavy quarkonium states is computed to the next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic accuracy within the nonrelativistic renormalization group approach. The result is presented in analytical form and applied to the phenomenology of $t\bar{t}$, $b\bar{b}$ and $c\bar{c}$ systems. The use of the nonrelativistic renormalization group considerably improves the behaviour of the perturbative expansion and is crucial for accurate theoretical analysis. For bottomonium decays we predict $Γ(η_b(1S) \to γγ)=0.659\pm 0.089 ({\rm th.}) {}^{+0.019}_{-0.018} (δα_{\rm s})\pm 0.015 ({\rm exp.}) {\rm keV}$. Our results question the accuracy of the existing extractions of the strong coupling constant from the bottomonium annihilation. As a by-product we obtain novel corrections to the ratio of the ortho- and parapositronium decay rates: the corrections of order $α^4\ln^2α$ and $α^5\ln^3α$.

Potential NRQCD and Heavy-Quarkonium Spectrum at Next-to-Next-to-Next-to-Leading Order

The next-to-next-to-next-to-leading order (N^3LO) Hamiltonian of potential nonrelativistic QCD is derived. The complete matching of the Hamiltonian and the contribution from the ultrasoft dynamical gluons relevant for perturbative bound-state calculations is performed including one-, two-, and three-loop contributions. The threshold expansion is used to disentangle and match contributions of different scales in the effective-theory calculations. As a physical application, the heavy-quarkonium spectrum is obtained at N^3LO for the case of vanishing QCD beta function. Our results set the stage for a full N^3LO analysis of the heavy-quarkonium system.

Heavy-Light Meson Decay Constant from QCD Sum Rules in Three-Loop Approximation

In this paper we compute the decay constant of the pseudo-scalar heavy-light mesons in the heavy quark effective theory framework of QCD sum rules. In our analysis we include the recently evaluated three-loop result of order $α_s^2$ for the heavy-light current correlator. The value of the bottom quark mass, which essentially limits the accuracy of the sum rules for $B$ meson, is extracted from the nonrelativistic sum rules for $Υ$ resonances in the next-to-next-to-leading approximation. We find stability of our result with respect to all types of corrections and the specific form of the sum rule which reduces the uncertainty. Our results $f_B=206\pm 20$ MeV and $f_D=195\pm 20$ MeV for the $B$ and $D$ meson decay constants are in impressive agreement with recent lattice calculations.

Summing up Subleading Sudakov Logarithms

We apply the strategy of regions within dimensional regularization to find functions involved in evolution equations which govern the asymptotic dynamics of the Abelian form factor and four-fermion amplitude in the SU(N) gauge theory in the Sudakov limit up to the next-to-leading logarithmic approximation. The results are used for the analysis of the dominant electroweak corrections to the fermion-antifermion pair production in the $e^+e^-$ annihilation at high energy.

Coulomb resummation for $b \bar b$ system near threshold and precision determination of $\al_s$ and $m_b$.

We analyze sum rules for the $Υ$ system with resummation of threshold effects on the basis of the nonrelativistic Coulomb approximation. We find for the pole mass of the bottom quark $m_b=4.75\pm 0.04 GeV$ and for the strong coupling constant $\al_s(M_Z)=0.118\pm 0.006$. The origin of the contradiction between two recent estimates obtained within the same formal framework is clarified.

Extended analysis of the "penguin" part of $K\toππ$ amplitude

We make an attempt to clarify the role of the annihilation or "penguin" mode in the description of the $K\rightarrowππ$ decay within the Standard Model. The attention is concentrated on new operators in the effective $ΔS=1$ Hamiltonian and the violation of factorization for mesonic matrix elements of the local four-quark operators. We propose a regular method to evaluate the mesonic matrix elements of $K\rightarrowππ$ transitions based on studying three-point correlators via {\it QCD} sum rules using the chiral effective theory as an underlying low-energy model for strong interaction. Matrix elements of the {\it QCD} penguin operator are calculated within this approach. The total "penguin" contribution is found to be relatively large that improves the theoretical description of the $ΔI=1/2$ rule in non-leptonic kaon decays.
