Non-linear iterations and higher splitting

Abstract

We show that generalized eventually narrow sequences on a strongly inaccessible cardinal κκ are preserved under the Cummings-Shaleh non-linear iterations of the higher Hechler forcing on κκ. Moreover assuming GCH, κ<κ=κκ^{<κ}=κ, we show that: (1) if κκ is strongly unfoldable, κ+≤β=cf(β)≤cf(δ)≤δ≤μκ^+\leqβ=\hbox{cf}(β)\leq \hbox{cf}(δ)\leqδ\leqμ and cf(μ)>κ\hbox{cf}(μ)>κ,then there is a cardinal preserving generic extension in which s(κ)=κ+≤b(κ)=β≤d(κ)=δ≤2κ=μ.\mathfrak{s}(κ)=κ^+\leq\mathfrak{b}(κ)=β\leq\mathfrak{d}(κ)=δ\leq 2^κ=μ. (2) if κκ is strongly inaccessible, λ>κ+λ>κ^+, then in the generic extension obtained as the <κ<κ-support iteration of κκ-Hechler forcing of length λλ there are no κκ-towers of length λλ.
