Maximum matchings in regular graphs

preprint2016arXivOpen access

Abstract

It was conjectured by Mkrtchyan, Petrosyan, and Vardanyan that every graph GG with Δ(G)−δ(G)≤1Δ(G)-δ(G) \le 1 has a maximum matching MM such that any two MM-unsaturated vertices do not share a neighbor. In this note, we confirm the conjecture for all kk-regular simple graphs and also kk-regular multigraphs with k≤4k\le 4.
