Abstract

Let n≥3n\ge 3 and ψλ0ψ_{λ_0} be the radially symmetric solution of Δlog⁡ψ+2βψ+βx⋅∇ψ=0Δ\logψ+2βψ+βx\cdot\nablaψ=0 in RnR^n, ψ(0)=λ0ψ(0)=λ_0, for some constants λ0>0λ_0>0, β>0β>0. Suppose u0≥0u_0\ge 0 satisfies u0−ψλ0∈L1(Rn)u_0-ψ_{λ_0}\in L^1(R^n) and u0(x)≈2(n−2)βlog⁡∣x∣∣x∣2u_0(x)\approx\frac{2(n-2)}β\frac{\log |x|}{|x|^2} as ∣x∣→∞|x|\to\infty. We prove that the rescaled solution u~(x,t)=e2βtu(eβtx,t)\widetilde{u}(x,t)=e^{2βt}u(e^{βt}x,t) of the maximal global solution uu of the equation ut=Δlog⁡uu_t=Δ\log u in Rn×(0,∞)R^n\times (0,\infty), u(x,0)=u0(x)u(x,0)=u_0(x) in RnR^n, converges uniformly on every compact subset of RnR^n and in L1(Rn)L^1(R^n) to ψλ0ψ_{λ_0} as t→∞t\to\infty. Moreover ∥u~(⋅,t)−ψλ0∥L1(Rn)≤e−(n−2)βt∥u0−ψλ0∥L1(Rn)\|\widetilde{u}(\cdot,t)-ψ_{λ_0}\|_{L^1(R^n)} \le e^{-(n-2)βt}\|u_0-ψ_{λ_0}\|_{L^1(R^n)} for all t≥0t\ge 0.
