Color flavor locked strange stars in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity

This work is devoted on the recently introduced Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity in four dimensions. The theory can bypass the Lovelock's theorem and avoids Ostrogradsky instability. The integrated part of this theory is the GB term gives rise to a non-trivial contribution to the gravitational dynamics in the limit $D \to 4$. Our main interest is to explore a class of static and spherically symmetric compact objects made of strange matter in the color flavor locked (CFL) phase, in which all three quark flavors participate to pairing symmetrically. It is therefore natural to ask for compact objects in 4$D$ EGB gravity since, compact stars signatures may be the test-bed to compare new models to the Einstein gravity; on the other hand, this could shed new light on the possible presence of CFL phase in compact stars. This feature may be relevant in view of recent observations claiming the existence of stable compact \emph{quark} stars (hybrid neutron stars or strange stars).
