Boundary value problem for a classical semilinear parabolic equation

Abstract

In this paper, we study the boundary value problem of the classical semilinear parabolic equations ut−Δu=∣u∣p−1u,  in  Ω×(0,T) u_t-Δu=|u|^{p-1}u, \ \ in \ \ Ω\times (0,T) and u=0u=0 on the boundary ∂Ω×[0,T)\partialΩ\times [0,T) and u=ϕu=ϕ at t=0t=0, where Ω⊂RnΩ\subset R^n is a compact C1C^1 domain, 1<p≤pS1<p\leq p_S is a fixed constant, and ϕ∈C02(Ω)ϕ\in C^2_0(Ω) is a given smooth function. Introducing new idea, we show that there are two sets W~\tilde{W} and Z~\tilde{Z} such that for ϕ∈Wϕ\in W, there is a global positive solution u(t)∈W~u(t)\in \tilde{W} with h1h^1 omega limit {0}\{0\} and for ϕ∈Z~ϕ\in \tilde{Z}, the solution blows up at finite time.
