Abstract

Let N≥5N\geq 5, a>0a>0, ΩΩ be a smooth bounded domain in RN\mathbb{R}^{N}, 2∗=2NN−22^*=\frac{2N}{N-2}, 2#=2(N−1)N−22^\#=\frac{2(N-1)}{N-2} and ∣∣u∣∣2=∣∇u∣22+a∣u∣22||u||^2=|\nabla u|_{2}^2+a|u|_{2}^2. We prove there exists an α0>0α_{0}>0 such that, for all u∈H1(Ω)∖{0}u\in H^1(Ω)\setminus\{0\}, S22N≤∣∣u∣∣2∣u∣2∗2(1+α0∣u∣2#2#∣∣u∣∣⋅∣u∣2∗2∗/2).\frac{S}{2^{\frac 2N}}\leq\frac{||u||^2}{|u|_{2^*}^2}\left(1+α_{0}\frac{|u|_{2^\#}^{2^\#}}{||u||\cdot|u|_{2^*}^{2^*/2}}\right). This inequality implies Cherrier's inequality.
