High-$K$ multi-particle bands and pairing reduction in $^{254}$No

The multi-particle states and rotational properties of two-particle bands in $^{254}$No are investigated by the cranked shell model (CSM) with pairing correlations treated by a particle-number conserving (PNC) method. For the first time, the rotational bands on top of two-particle $K^π=3^+,8^-$ and $10^+$ states and the pairing reduction are studied theoretically in $^{254}$No. The experimental excitation energies and moments of inertia for the multi-particle state are reproduced well by the calculation. Better agreement with the data are achieved by including the high-order deformation $\varepsilon_{6}$ which leads to enlarged $Z=100$ and $N=152$ deformed shell gaps. The rise of the $J^{(1)}$ in these two-particle bands compared with the ground-state band is attributed to the pairing reduction due to the Pauli blocking effects.

Scaling of quantum correlation and monogamy relation near a quantum phase transitions in two-dimensional XY spin system

The purpose of the paper is mainly to investigate the quantum critical behavior of two-dimensional XY spin system by calculating quantum correlation and monogamy relation through implementation of quantum renormalization group theory. Numerical analysis indicates that quantum correlation as well as quantum nonlocality can be used to efficiently detect the quantum critical property in two-dimensional XY spin system. The nonanalytic behavior of the first derivative of quantum correlation approaches infinity and the critical point is reached as the size of the model increases. Furthermore, we discuss the quantum correlation distribution in this model based on square of concurrence (SC) and square of quantum discord (SQD). The monogamous properties of SC and SQD are obtained for the present system. We finally reveal that the monogamy score can be used to capture the quantum critical point.

Universal quantum correlation close to quantum critical phenomena

We study the ground state quantum correlation of Ising model in a transverse field (ITF) by implementing the quantum renormalization group (QRG) theory. It is shown that various quantum correlation measures and the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt inequality will highlight the critical point related with quantum phase transitions, and demonstrate nonanalytic phenomena and scaling behavior when the size of the systems becomes large. Our results also indicate a universal behavior of the critical exponent of ITF under QRG theory that the critical exponent of different measures is identical, even when the quantities vary from entanglement measures to quantum correlation measures. This means that the two kinds of quantum correlation criterion including the entanglement-separability paradigm and the information-theoretic paradigm have some connections between them. These remarkable behaviors may have important implications on condensed matter physics because the critical exponent directly associates with the correlation length exponent.

Influence of intrinsic decoherence on entanglement teleportation via a Heisenberg XYZ model with different Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

We investigate the characteristics of entanglement teleportation of a two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ model under different Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction with intrinsic decoherence taken into account. The comparison of the two different Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, the effects of the initial state and the inputting state on the entanglement teleportation are presented. The results reveal that the dynamics of entanglement is a symmetry function about for the system, whereas it is not for the system. The ferromagnetic case is superior to the antiferromagnetic case for restrain decoherence when using the system. The dependence of entanglement, output entanglement, fidelity on initial state angle all demonstrate periodic. Moreover, we find that seemingly some system are not suitable for teleportation, but they can acquire some best exhibition if we take the proper initial state and inputting state.

Cosmogenic Nuclei Production Rate on the Lunar Surface

A physical model of Geant4-based simulation of galactic cosmic ray (GCR) particles interaction with the lunar surface matter has been developed to investigate the production rate of cosmogenic nuclei. In this model the GCRs, mainly very high energy protons and $α$ particles, bombard the surface of the Moon and produce many secondary particles such as protons and neutrons. The energies of proton and neutron at different depths are recorded and saved into ROOT files, and the analytical expressions for the differential proton and neutron fluxes are obtained through the best-fit procedure under the ROOT software. To test the validity of this model, we calculate the production rates of long-lived nuclei $^{10}$Be and $^{26}$Al in the Apollo 15 long drill core by combining the above differential fluxes and the newly evaluated spallation reaction cross sections. Numerical results show that the theoretical production rates agree quite well with the measured data. It means that this model works well. Therefore, it can be expected that this model can be used to investigate the cosmogenic nuclei in lunar samples returned by Chinese lunar exploration program and can be extended to study other objects, such as the meteorites and the Earth's atmosphere.

Probe the 2$s_{1/2}$ and 1$d_{3/2}$ state level inversion with electron-nucleus scattering

The neutron-rich even-even nuclei $^{26-40}$Mg, $^{28-46}$Si, $^{30-48}$S, and $^{32-56}$Ar are calculated with the RMF model and the phase-shift electron scattering method. Results show that level inversion of the 2$s_{1/2}$ and 1$d_{3/2}$ proton states may occur for the magnesium, silicon, sulphur, and argon isotopes with more neutrons away from the stability line. Calculations show that the variation of the central charge densities for $^{30-48}$S, and $^{32-56}$Ar are very sensitive to the 2$s_{1/2}$ and 1$d_{3/2}$ proton state level inversion, and the level inversion can lead to a large measurable central charge depletion to the charge density distributions for the neutron-rich isotopes. Calculations also show that the charge density differences between the isotopes with and without central charge depletion can reveal not only the level inversion of the 2$s_{1/2}$ and 1$d_{3/2}$ proton states but also the behavior of the proton wave functions of both states. The results can provide references for the possible study of the nuclear level inversion and nuclear bubble phenomenon with electron scattering off short-lived nuclei at RIKEN or/and GSI in the future. In addition, direct nuclear reaction $^{44}$S(n, d)$^{43}$P or $^{44}$S($^{3}$H, $α$)$^{43}$P might also be a possible way to study the 2$s_{1/2}$ and 1$d_{3/2}$ proton state level inversion.

Rotation and alignment of high-$j$ orbitals in transfermium nuclei

The structure of nuclei with $Z\sim100$ is investigated systematically by the Cranked Shell Model (CSM) with pairing correlations treated by a Particle-Number Conserving (PNC) method. In the PNC method, the particle number is conserved and the Pauli blocking effects are taken into account exactly. By fitting the experimental single-particle spectra in these nuclei, a new set of Nilsson parameters ($κ$ and $μ$) is proposed. The experimental kinematic moments of inertia and the band-head energies are reproduced quite well by the PNC-CSM calculations. The band crossing, the effects of high-$j$ intruder orbitals and deformation are discussed in detail.

The Localization of $s$-Wave and Quantum Effective Potential of a Quasi-Free Particle with Position-Dependent Mass

The properties of the s-wave for a quasi-free particle with position-dependent mass(PDM) have been discussed in details. Differed from the system with constant mass in which the localization of the s-wave for the free quantum particle around the origin only occurs in two dimensions, the quasi-free particle with PDM can experience attractive forces in $D$ dimensions except D=1 when its mass function satisfies some conditions. The effective mass of a particle varying with its position can induce effective interaction which may be attractive in some cases. The analytical expressions of the eigenfunctions and the corresponding probability densities for the s-waves of the two- and three-dimensional systems with a special PDM are given, and the existences of localization around the origin for these systems are shown.
