Optimization of the power broadening in optically detected magnetic resonance of defect spins in silicon carbide

Defect spins in silicon carbide have become promising platforms with respect to quantum information processing and quantum sensing. Indeed, the optically detected magnetic resonance (ODMR) of defect spins is the cornerstone of the applications. In this work, we systematically investigate the contrast and linewidth of laser-and microwave power-dependent ODMR with respect to ensemble-divacancy spins in silicon carbide at room temperature. The results suggest that magnetic field sensing sensitivity can be improved by a factor of 10 for the optimized laser and microwave power range. The experiment will be useful for the applications of silicon carbide defects in quantum information processing and ODMR-dependent quantum sensing.

Possible Effects of Dark Energy on the Detection of Dark Matter Particles

We study in this paper the possible influence of the dark energy on the detection of the dark matter particles. In models of dark energy described by a dynamical scalar field such as the Quintessence, its interaction with the dark matter will cause the dark matter particles such as the neutralino vary as a function of space and time. Given a specific model of the Quintessence and its interaction in this paper we calculate numerically the corrections to the neutralino masses and the induced spectrum of the neutrinos from the annihilation of the neutralinos pairs in the core of the Sun. This study gives rise to a possibility of probing for dark energy in the experiments of detecting the dark matter particles.

Leading power SCET analysis of $e^+ e^- \to J/ψg g$

Recently, Belle and BaBar Collaborations observed surprising suppression in the endpoint $J/ψ$ spectrum, which stimulates us to examine the endpoint behaviors of the $e^+ e^- \to J/ψgg$ production. We calculate the $J/ψ$ momentum and angular distributions for this process within the framework of the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET). The decreasing spectrum in the endpoint region is obtained by summing the Sudakov logarithms. We also find a large discrepancy between the NRQCD and SCET spectrum in the endpoint region even before the large logarithms are summed, which is probably due to the fact that only the scalar structure of the two-gluon system is picked out in the leading power expansion. A comparison with the process $Υ\to γgg$ is made.
