Modality Dominance-Aware Optimization for Embodied RGB-Infrared Perception

RGB-Infrared (RGB-IR) multimodal perception is fundamental to embodied multimedia systems operating in complex physical environments. Although recent cross-modal fusion methods have advanced RGB-IR detection, the optimization dynamics caused by asymmetric modality characteristics remain underexplored. In practice, disparities in information density and feature quality introduce persistent optimization bias, leading training to overemphasize a dominant modality and hindering effective fusion. To quantify this phenomenon, we propose the Modality Dominance Index (MDI), which measures modality dominance by jointly modeling feature entropy and gradient contribution. Based on MDI, we develop a Modality Dominance-Aware Cross-modal Learning (MDACL) framework that regulates cross-modal optimization. MDACL incorporates Hierarchical Cross-modal Guidance (HCG) to enhance feature alignment and Adversarial Equilibrium Regularization (AER) to balance optimization dynamics during fusion. Extensive experiments on three RGB-IR benchmarks demonstrate that MDACL effectively mitigates optimization bias and achieves SOTA performance.

iMER: Iterative Process of Entity Relationship and Business Proces Models Extraction from the Requirements

Extracting conceptual models, e.g., entity relationship model or Business Process model, from software requirement document is an essential task in the software development life cycle. Business process model presents a clear picture of required system functionality. Operations in business process model together with the data entity consumed, help the software developers to understand the database design and operations to be implemented. Researchers have been aiming at automatic extraction of these artefacts from the requirement document. In this paper, we present an automated approach to extract the entity relationship and business process models from requirements, which are possibly in different formats such as general requirements, use case specification and user stories. Our approach is based on the efficient natural language processing techniques.

On the anti-forcing number of fullerene graphs

The anti-forcing number of a connected graph $G$ is the smallest number of edges such that the remaining graph obtained by deleting these edges has a unique perfect matching. In this paper, we show that the anti-forcing number of every fullerene has at least four. We give a procedure to construct all fullerenes whose anti-forcing numbers achieve the lower bound four. Furthermore, we show that, for every even $n\geq20$ ($n\neq22,26$), there exists a fullerene with $n$ vertices that has the anti-forcing number four, and the fullerene with 26 vertices has the anti-forcing number five.

The maximum forcing number of polyomino

The forcing number of a perfect matching $M$ of a graph $G$ is the cardinality of the smallest subset of $M$ that is contained in no other perfect matchings of $G$. For a planar embedding of a 2-connected bipartite planar graph $G$ which has a perfect matching, the concept of Clar number of hexagonal system had been extended by Abeledo and Atkinson as follows: a spanning subgraph $C$ of is called a Clar cover of $G$ if each of its components is either an even face or an edge, the maximum number of even faces in Clar covers of $G$ is called Clar number of $G$, and the Clar cover with the maximum number of even faces is called the maximum Clar cover. It was proved that if $G$ is a hexagonal system with a perfect matching $M$ and $K'$ is a set of hexagons in a maximum Clar cover of $G$, then $G-K'$ has a unique 1-factor. Using this result, Xu {\it et. at.} proved that the maximum forcing number of the elementary hexagonal system are equal to their Clar numbers, and then the maximum forcing number of the elementary hexagonal system can be computed in polynomial time. In this paper, we show that an elementary polyomino has a unique perfect matching when removing the set of tetragons from its maximum Clar cover. Thus the maximum forcing number of elementary polyomino equals to its Clar number and can be computed in polynomial time. Also, we have extended our result to the non-elementary polyomino and hexagonal system.

Maximum spectral radius of graphs with given connectivity and minimum degree

Shiu, Chan and Chang [On the spectral radius of graphs with connectivity at most $k$, J. Math. Chem., 46 (2009), 340-346] studied the spectral radius of graphs of order $n$ with $κ(G) \leq k$ and showed that among those graphs, the maximum spectral radius is obtained uniquely at $K_k^n$, which is the graph obtained by joining $k$ edges from $k$ vertices of $K_{n-1}$ to an isolated vertex. In this paper, we study the spectral radius of graphs of order $n$ with $κ(G)\leq k$ and minimum degree $δ(G)\geq k $. We show that among those graphs, the maximum spectral radius is obtained uniquely at $K_{k}+(K_{δ-k+1}\cup K_{n-δ-1})$.
