A class of graded conformal algebras which is induced by Heisenberg-Virasoro conformal algebra

In this paper, we obtain a class of $\mathbb{Z}$-graded conformal algebras which is induced by Heisenberg-Virasoro conformal algebra. More precisely, we classify $\mathbb{Z}$-graded conformal algebras $\mathcal{A} = \oplus^\infty_{i=-1}\mathcal{A}_i$ satisfying the following conditions, (C1) $\mathcal{A}_0$ is the Heisenberg-Virasoro conformal algebra; C2) Each $\mathcal{A}_i$ for $i\in\mathbb{Z}_{\ge-1}^*$ is an $\mathcal{A}_0$-module of rank one; (C3) $[{X_{-1}}_λX_i]\neq 0$ for $i\ge 0$, where $X_i$ is any one of $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-generators of $\mathcal{A}_i$ for $i\in \mathbb{Z}_{\ge -1}$. Further, we prove that all finite nontrivial irreducible modules of these algebras under some special conditions are free of rank one as a $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-module. The conformal derivations of this class of graded Lie conformal algebras are also determined.

New irreducible non-weight Virasoro modules from tensor products

In this paper, we present a class of non-weight Virasoro modules $\mathcal{M}\big(V,Ω(λ_0,α_0)\big)\otimes\bigotimes_{i=1}^mΩ(λ_i,α_i)$ where $Ω(λ_i,α_i)$ and $\mathcal{M}\big(V,Ω(λ_0,α_0)\big)$ are irreducible Virasoro modules defined in \cite{LZ2} and \cite{LZ} respectively. The necessary and sufficient conditions for $\mathcal{M}\big(V,Ω(λ_0,α_0)\big)\otimes\bigotimes_{i=1}^mΩ(λ_i,α_i)$ to be irreducible are obtained. Then we determine the necessary and sufficient conditions for two such irreducible Virasoro modules to be isomorphic. At last, we show that the irreducible modules in this class are new.

Another class of simple graded Lie conformal algebras that cannot be embedded into general Lie conformal algebras

In a previous paper by the authors, we obtain the first example of a finitely freely generated simple $\mathbb Z$-graded Lie conformal algebra of linear growth that cannot be embedded into any general Lie conformal algebra. In this paper, we obtain, as a byproduct, another class of such Lie conformal algebras by classifying $\mathbb Z$-graded simple Lie conformal algebras ${\cal G}=\oplus_{i=-1}^\infty{\cal G}_i$ satisfying the following, (1) ${\cal G}_0\cong{\rm Vir}$, the Virasoro conformal algebra; (2) Each ${\cal G}_i$ for $i\ge-1$ is a ${\rm Vir}$-module of rank one. These algebras include some Lie conformal algebras of Block type.

Simple non-weight modules over Lie superalgebras of Block type

In this paper, a family of non-weight modules over Lie superalgebras $S(q)$ of Block type are studied. Free $U(η)$-modules of rank $1$ over Ramond-Block algebras and free $U(\mathfrak{h})$-modules of rank $2$ over Neveu-Schwarz-Block algebras are constructed and classified. Moreover, the sufficient and necessary conditions for such modules to be simple are presented, and their isomorphism classes are also determined. The results cover some existing results.

Finite irreducible conformal modules over the extended Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$

In this paper, we introduce a class of infinite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$, which are the semi-direct sums of Block type Lie conformal algebra $\mathfrak{B}(p)$ and its non-trivial conformal modules of $\Z$-graded free intermediate series. The annihilation algebras are a class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, which include a lot of interesting subalgebras: Virasoro algebra, Block type Lie algebra, twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra and so on. We give a complete classification of all finite non-trivial irreducible conformal modules of $\mathfrak{B}(α,β,p)$ for $α,β\in\C, p\in\C^*$. As an application, the classifications of finite irreducible conformal modules over a series of finite Lie conformal algebras $\mathfrak{b}(n)$ for $n\geq1$ are given.

Submodule structures of $\mathbb C[s,t]$ over $W(0,b)$ and a new class of irreducible modules over the Virasoro algebra

For any $a,b\in\mathbb C$, $W(a,b)$ is the Lie algebra with basis $\{L_m,M_m\,|\,m\in\mathbb Z\}$ and relations $[L_m,L_n]=(n-m)L_{m+n},$ $[L_m,W_n]=(a+n+bm)W_{m+n}$, $[W_m,W_n]=0$ for $m,n\in\mathbb Z$. For any $λ\in\mathbb C^*,$ $α\in\mathbb C$, $h:=h(t)\in\mathbb C[t]$, there exists a non-weight module over $W(0,b)$ (resp., $W(0,1)$), denoted by $Φ(λ,α,h)$ (resp. $Θ(λ,h)$), which is defined on the space $\mathbb C[s,t]$ of polynomials on variables $s,t$ and is free of rank one over the enveloping algebra $U(\mathbb C L_0\oplus\mathbb C W_0)$ of $\mathbb C L_0\oplus\mathbb C W_0$. In the present paper, by introducing two sequences of useful operators on $\mathbb C[s,t]$, we determine all submodules of $\mathbb C[s,t]$. We also study submodules of $\mathbb C[s,t]$ regarded as modules over the Virasoro algebra $\mathscr V\!$ (with the trivial action of the center), and prove that these submodules are finitely generated if and only if ${\rm deg}\,h(t)\geq1$. In addition, it is proven that $Φ(λ, α,h)$ is an irreducible $\mathscr V\!$-module if and only if $b=-1$, ${\rm deg}\, h(t)=1$, $α\neq0$. Finally, we obtain a large family of new irreducible modules over the Virasoro algebra $\mathscr V\!$, by taking various tensor products of a finite number of irreducible modules $Φ(λ_i,α_i, h_i)$ for $λ_i,α_i\in\mathbb C^*,$ $h_i\in\mathbb C[t]$ with an irreducible $\mathscr V\!$-module $V$, where $V$ satisfies that there exists a nonnegative integer $R_V$ such that $L_m$ acts locally finitely on $V$ for $m\geq R_V$.

A family of new simple modules over the Schrödinger-Virasoro algebra

In this article, a large class of simple modules over the Schrödinger-Virasoro algebra $\mathcal{G}$ are constructed, which include highest weight modules and Whittaker modules. These modules are determined by the simple modules over the finite-dimensional quotient algebras of some subalgebras. Moreover, we show that all simple modules of $\mathcal{G}$ with locally finite actions of elements in a certain positive part belong to this class of simple modules. Similarly, a large class of simple modules over the $W$-algebra $W(2,2)$ are constructed.

Generalized conformal derivations of Lie conformal algebras

Let $R$ be a Lie conformal algebra. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the conformal derivation algebra $CDer(R)$, the conformal quasiderivation algebra $QDer(R)$ and the generalized conformal derivation algebra $GDer(R)$. The generalized conformal derivation algebra is a natural generalization of the conformal derivation algebra. Obviously, we have the following tower $CDer(R)\subseteq QDer(R)\subseteq GDer(R)\subseteq gc(R)$, where $gc(R)$ is the general Lie conformal algebra. Furthermore, we mainly research the connection of these generalized conformal derivations. Finally, the conformal $(α,β,γ)$-derivations of Lie conformal algebras are studied. Moreover, we obtain some connections between several specific generalized conformal derivations and the conformal $(α,β,γ)$-derivations. In addition, all conformal $(α,β,γ)$-derivations of finite simple Lie conformal algebras are characterized.

Infinite rank Schrodinger-Virasoro type Lie conformal algebras

Motivated by the structure of certain modules over the loop Virasoro Lie conformal algebra and the Lie structures of Schrodinger-Virasoro algebras, we construct a class of infinite rank Lie conformal algebras CSV (a, b), where a, b are complex numbers. The conformal derivations of CSV (a, b) are uniformly determined. The rank one conformal modules and Z-graded free intermediate series modules over CSV (a, b) are classified. Corresponding results of the conformal subalgebra CHV (a, b) of CSV (a, b) are also presented.

Linear commuting maps and skew-symmertric biderivations of the deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras

In this paper, we investigate the skew-symmertric biderivations of the deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras which contain the twisted and original deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras. As an application, we give the explicit form of each linear commuting map on the deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras. In particular, we obtain that there exist non-inner biderivations and non-standard linear commuting maps for the certain deformative Schrodinger-Virasoro Lie algebras.

Modules over the algebra $\mathcal{V}ir(a,b)$

For any two complex numbers $a$ and $b$, $\mathcal{V} ir(a,b)$ is a central extension of $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ which is universal in the case $(a,b)\neq (0,1)$, where $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ is the Lie algebra with basis $\{L_n,W_n\mid n\in\Z\}$ and relations $[L_m,L_n]=(n-m)L_{m+n}$, $[L_m,W_n]=(a+n+bm)W_{m+n}$, $[W_m,W_n]=0$. In this paper, we construct and classify a class of non-weight modules over the algebra $\mathcal{V} ir(a,b)$ which are free $U(\mathbb{C} L_0\oplus\mathbb{C} W_0)$-modules of rank $1$. It is proved that such modules can only exist for $a=0$.

Automorphism groups of Witt algebras

The automorphism groups ${\rm Aut\,}A_n$ and ${\rm Aut\,}W_n$ of the polynomial algebra $A_n=C[x_1,x_2,\cdots, x_n]$ and the rank $n$ Witt algebra $W_n={\rm Der\,}A_n$ are studied in this paper. It is well-known that ${\rm Aut\,}A_n$ for $n\ge3$ and ${\rm Aut\,}W_n$ for $n\ge2$ are open. In the present paper, by characterizing the semigroup ${\rm End\,}W_n\setminus\{0\}$ of nonzero endomorphisms of $W_n$ via the semigroup of the so-called Jacobi tuples, we establish an isomorphism between ${\rm Aut}\,A_n$ and ${\rm Aut\,}W_n$ for any positive integer $n$. In particular, this enables us to work out the automorphism group ${\rm Aut\,}W_2$ of $W_2$.

Highest weight vectors of mixed tensor products of general linear Lie superalgebras

In this paper, a notion of cyclotomic (or level $k$) walled Brauer algebras $\mathscr B_{k, r, t}$ is introduced for arbitrary positive integer $k$. It is proven that $\mathscr B_{k, r, t}$ is free over a commutative ring with rank $k^{r+t}(r+t)!$ if and only if it is admissible. Using super Schur-Weyl duality between general linear Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$ and $\mathscr B_{2, r, t}$, we give a classification of highest weight vectors of $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$-modules $M_{pq}^{rt}$, the tensor products of Kac-modules with mixed tensor products of the natural module and its dual. This enables us to establish an explicit relationship between $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$-Kac-modules and right cell (or standard) $\mathscr B_{2, r, t}$-modules over $\mathbb C$. Further, we find an explicit relationship between indecomposable tilting $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$-modules appearing in $M_{pq}^{rt}$, and principal indecomposable right $\mathscr B_{2, r, t}$-modules via the notion of Kleshchev bipartitions. As an application, decomposition numbers of $\mathscr B_{2, r, t}$ arising from super Schur-Weyl duality are determined.

Loop Heisenberg-Virasoro Lie Conformal algebra

Let $HV$ be the loop Heisenberg-Virasoro Lie algebra over $\C$ with basis $\{L_{\a,i},H_{\b,j}\,|\,\a,\,\b,i,j\in\Z\}$ and brackets $[L_{\a,i},L_{\b,j}]=(\a-\b)L_{\a+\b,i+j}, [L_{\a,i},H_{\b,j}]=-\b H_{\a+\b,i+j},[H_{\a,i},H_{\b,j}]=0$. In this paper, a formal distribution Lie algebra of $HV$ is constructed. Then the associated conformal algebra $CHV$ is studied, where $CHV$ has a $\C[\partial]$-basis $\{L_i,H_i\,|\,i\in\Z\}$ with $λ$-brackets $[L_i\, {}_λ\, L_j]=(\partial+2λ) L_{i+j}, [L_i\, {}_λ\, H_j]=(\partial+λ) H_{i+j}, [H_i\, {}_λ\, L_j]=λL_{i+j}$ and $[H_i\, {}_λ\, H_j]=0$. In particular, the conformal derivations of $CHV$ are determined. Finally, rank one conformal modules and $\Z$-graded free intermediate series modules over $CHV$ are classified.

Affine walled Brauer algebras

A new class of associative algebras referred to as affine walled Brauer algebras are introduced. These algebras are free with infinite rank over a commutative ring containing 1. Then level two walled Brauer algebras over C are defined, which are some cyclotomic quotients of affine walled Brauer algebras. We establish a super Schur-Weyl duality between affine walled Brauer algebras and general linear Lie superalgebras, and realize level two walled Brauer algebras as endomorphism algebras of tensor modules of Kac modules with mixed tensor products of the natural module and its dual over general linear Lie superalgebras, under some conditions. We also prove the weakly cellularity of level two walled Brauer algebras, and give a classification of their irreducible modules over C. This in tur enables us to classify the indecomposable direct summands of the said tensor modules.

Generalised Jantzen filtration of Lie superalgebras II: the exceptional cases

Let $g$ be an exceptional Lie superalgebra, and let $p$ be the maximal parabolic subalgebra which contains the distinguished Borel subalgebra and has a purely even Levi subalgebra. For any parabolic Verma module in the parabolic category $O^p$, it is shown that the Jantzen filtration is the unique Loewy filtration, and the decomposition numbers of the layers of the filtration are determined by the coefficients of inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. An explicit description of the submodule lattices of the parabolic Verma modules is given, and formulae for characters and dimensions of the finite dimensional simple modules are obtained.

Block type symmetry of bigraded Toda Hierarchy

In this paper, we define Orlov-Schulman's operators $M_L$, $M_R$, and then use them to construct the additional symmetries of the bigraded Toda hierarchy (BTH). We further show that these additional symmetries form an interesting infinite dimensional Lie algebra known as a Block type Lie algebra, whose structure theory and representation theory have recently received much attention in literature. By acting on two different spaces under the weak W-constraints we find in particular two representations of this Block type Lie algebra.

Classification of quasifinite representations of a Lie algebra related to Block type

A well-known theorem of Mathieu's states that a Harish-chandra module over the Virasoro algebra is either a highest weight module, a lowest weight module or a module of the intermediate series. It is proved in this paper that an analogous result also holds for the Lie algebra $\BB$ related to Block type, with basis {L_{\a,i},C|a,i\in\Z, i\ge0} and relations [L_{\a,i},L_{\b,j}]=((i+1)\b-(j+1)\a)L_{\a+\b,i+j}+\d_{\a+\b,0}\d_{i+j,0}\frac{\a^3-\a}{6}C, [C,L_{\a,i}]=0.Namely, an irreducible quasifinite $\BB$-module is either a highest weight module, a lowest weight module or a module of the intermediate series.

Indecomposable modules of the intermediate series over W(a,b) algebras

For any complex parameters a,b, the W(a,b) algebra is the Lie algebra with basis {L_i,W_i|i\in Z}, and relations [L_i,L_j]=(j-i)L_{i+j}, [L_i,W_j]=(a+j+bi)W_{i+j},[W_i,W_j]=0. In this paper, indecomposable modules of the intermediate series over W(a,b) are classified. It is also proved that an irreducible Harish-Chandra W(a,b)-module is either a highest/lowest weight module or a uniformly bounded module. Furthermore, if a\notin Q, an irreducible weight W(a,b)-module is simply a Vir-module with trivial actions of W_k.

Filtered Lie conformal algebras whose associated graded algebras are isomorphic to that of general conformal algebra $gc_1$

Let $G$ be a filtered Lie conformal algebra whose associated graded conformal algebra is isomorphic to that of general conformal algebra $gc_1$. In this paper, we prove that $G\cong gc_1$ or ${\rm gr\,}gc_1$ (the associated graded conformal algebra of $gc_1$), by making use of some results on the second cohomology groups of the conformal algebra $\fg$ with coefficients in its module $M_{b,0}$ of rank 1, where $\fg=\Vir\ltimes M_{a,0}$ is the semi-direct sum of the Virasoro conformal algebra $\Vir$ with its module $M_{a,0}$. Furthermore, we prove that ${\rm gr\,}gc_1$ does not have a nontrivial representation on a finite $\C[\partial]$-module, this provides an example of a finitely freely generated simple Lie conformal algebra of linear growth that cannot be embedded into the general conformal algebra $gc_N$ for any $N$.

Poisson algebras, Weyl algebras and Jacobi pairs

We study Jacobi pairs in details and obtained some properties. We also study the natural Poisson algebra structure $(\PP,[...,...],...)$ on the space $\PP:=\C[y]((x^{-\frac1N}))$ for some sufficient large $N$, and introduce some automorphisms of $(\PP,[...,...],...)$ which are (possibly infinite but well-defined) products of the automorphisms of forms $e^{\ad_H}$ for $H\in x^{1-\frac1N}\C[y][[x^{-\frac1N}]]$ and $τ_c:(x,y)\mapsto(x,y-cx^{-1})$ for some $c\in\C$. These automorphisms are used as tools to study Jacobi pairs in $\PP$. In particular, starting from a Jacobi pair $(F,G)$ in $\C[x,y]$ which violates the two-dimensional Jacobian conjecture, by applying some variable change $(x,y)\mapsto\big(x^{b},x^{1-b}(y+a_1 x^{-b_1}+...+a_kx^{-b_k})\big)$ for some $b,b_i\in\Q_+,a_i\in\C$ with $b_i<1<b$, we obtain a \QJ pair still denoted by $(F,G)$ in $\C[x^{\pm\frac1N},y]$ with the form $F=x^{\frac{m}{m+n}}(f+F_0)$, $G=x^{\frac{n}{m+n}}(g+G_0)$ for some positive integers $m,n$, and $f,g\in\C[y]$, $F_0,G_0\in x^{-\frac1N}\C[x^{-\frac1N},y]$, such that $F,G$ satisfy some additional conditions. Then we generalize the results to the Weyl algebra $\WW=\C[v]((u^{-\frac1N}))$ with relation $[u,v]=1$, and obtain some properties of pairs $(F,G)$ satisfying $[F,G]=1$, referred to as Dixmier pairs.

Quantization of Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra

In this paper, we use the general quantization method by Drinfel'd twists to quantize the Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra whose Lie bialgebra structures were recently discovered by Han-Li-Su. We give two different kinds of Drinfel'd twists, which are then used to construct the corresponding Hopf algebraic structrues. Our results extend the class of examples of noncommutative and noncocommutative Hopf algebras.

Quasifinite representations of a class of Block type Lie algebras $\BB$

Intrigued by a well-known theorem of Mathieu's on Harish-Chandra modules over the Virasoro algebra, we give an analogous result for a class of Block type Lie algebras $\BB$, where the parameter $q$ is a nonzero complex number. We also classify quasifinite irreducible highest weight $\BB$-modules and irreducible $\BB$-modules of the intermediate series. In particular, we obtain that an irreducible $\BB$-module of the intermediate series may be a nontrivial extension of a $\Vir$-module of the intermediate series if $q$ is half of a negative integer, where $\Vir$ is a subalgebra of $\BB$ isomorphic to the Virasoro algebra.

Generalised Jantzen filtration of Lie superalgebras I

A Jantzen type filtration for generalised Varma modules of Lie superalgebras is introduced. In the case of type I Lie superalgebras, it is shown that the generalised Jantzen filtration for any Kac module is the unique Loewy filtration, and the decomposition numbers of the layers of the filtration are determined by the coefficients of inverse Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. Furthermore, the length of the Jantzen filtration for any Kac module is determined explicitly in terms of the degree of atypicality of the highest weight. These results are applied to obtain a detailed description of the submodule lattices of Kac modules.

Generalised Verma modules for the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(k|2)

The composition factors and their multiplicities are determined for generalised Verma modules over the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra osp(k|2). The results enable us to obtain explicit formulae for the formal characters and dimensions of the finite-dimensional irreducible modules. Applying these results, we also compute the first and second cohomology groups of the Lie superalgebra with coefficients in finite-dimensional Kac modules and irreducible modules.

Classification of derivation-simple color algebras related to locally finite derivations

We classify the pairs $(A,D)$ consisting of an $(ε,Γ)$-olor-commutative associative algebra $A$ with an identity element over an algebraically closed field $F$ of characteristic zero and a finite dimensional subspace $D$ of $(ε,Γ)$-color-commutative locally finite color-derivations of $A$ such that $A$ is $Γ$-graded $D$-simple and the eigenspaces for elements of $D$ are $Γ$-graded. Such pairs are the important ingredients in constructing some simple Lie color algebras which are in general not finitely-graded. As some applications, using such pairs, we construct new explicit simple Lie color algebras of generalized Witt type, Weyl type.

Low dimensional cohomology of general conformal algebras $gc_N$

We compute the low dimensional cohomologies $\tilde H^q(gc_N,C)$, $H^q(gc_N,\C)$ of the infinite rank general Lie conformal algebras $gc_N$ with trivial coefficients for $q\le3, N=1$ or $q\le2, N\ge2$. We also prove that the cohomology of $gc_N$ with coefficients in its natural module is trivial, i.e., $H^*(gc_N,\C[\ptl]^N)=0$; thus partially solve an open problem of Bakalov-Kac-Voronov in [{\it Comm. Simple Lie Color Algebras of Weyl Type

For an $(ε,G)$-color-commutative associative algebra $A$ with an identity element over a field $F$ of characteristic not 2, and for a color-commutative subalgebra $D$ of color-derivations of $A$, denote by $A[D]$ the associative subalgebra of ${\rm End}(A)$ generated by $A$ (regarding as operators on $A$ via left multiplication) and $D$. It is easily proved that, as an associative algebra, $A[D]$ is $G$-graded simple if and only if $A$ is $\G$-graded $D$-simple. Suppose $A$ is $\G$-graded $D$-simple. Then, (a) $A[D]$ is a free left $A$-module; (b) as a Lie color algebra, the subquotient $[A[D],A[D]]/Z(A[D])\cap[A[D],A[D]]$ is simple (except one minor case), where $Z(A[D])$ is the color center of $A[D]$. The structure of this subquotient is explicitly described.

Simple algebras of Weyl type

Over a field $F$ of any characteristic, for a commutative associative algebra $A$ with an identity element and for the polynomial algebra $F[D]$ of a commutative derivation subalgebra $D$ of $A$, the associative and the Lie algebras of Weyl type on the same vector space $A[D]=A\otimes F[D]$ are defined. It is proved that $A[D]$, as a Lie algebra (modular its center) or as an associative algebra, is simple if and only if $A$ is $D$-simple and $A[D]$ acts faithfully on $A$. Thus a lot of simple algebras are obtained.
