Generalized complexity of surfaces

In this article, we introduce the generalized complexity of a generalized Calabi--Yau pair $(X,B,\textbf{M})$. This invariant compares the dimension of $X$ and Picard rank of $X$ with the sum of the coefficients of $B$ and $\textbf{M}$. It generalizes the complexity introduced by Shokurov. We show that a generalized log Calabi-Yau pair $(X,B,\textbf{M})$ of dimension $2$ with generalized complexity $0$ satisfies that $X$ is toric. This generalizes a result due to Brown, McKernan, Svaldi, and Zhong in the case of surfaces. Furthermore, we show that a generalized klt log Calabi-Yau surface $(X,\textbf{M})$ with generalized complexity $0$ satisfies that $X\simeq \mathbb{P}^2$ or $X\simeq \mathbb{P}^1\times \mathbb{P}^1$. Thus, this invariant interpolates between the characterization of toric varieties and the Kobayashi-Ochiai Theorem. As an application, we show that $3$-fold singularities with generalized complexity $0$ are toric. Furthermore, we show a local version of Kobayashi-Ochiai Theorem in dimension $3$.

Versions of injectivity and extension theorems

We give an analytic version of the injectivity theorem by using multiplier ideal sheaves, and prove some extension theorems for the adjoint bundle of dlt pairs. Moreover, by combining techniques of the minimal model program, we obtain some results for semi-ampleness related to the abundance conjecture in birational geometry and the Strominger-Yau-Zaslow conjecture for hyperKähler manifolds.

On images of weak Fano manifolds II

We consider a smooth projective surjective morphism between smooth complex projective varieties. We give a Hodge theoretic proof of the following well-known fact: If the anti-canonical divisor of the source space is nef, then so is the anti-canonical divisor of the target space. We do not use mod $p$ reduction arguments. In addition, we make some supplementary comments on our paper: On images of weak Fano manifolds.

On weak Fano varieties with log canonical singularities

We prove that the anti-canonical divisors of weak Fano 3-folds with log canonical singularities are semiample. Moreover, we consider semiampleness of the anti-log canonical divisor of any weak log Fano pair with log canonical singularities. We show semiampleness dose not hold in general by constructing several examples. Based on those examples, we propose sufficient conditions which seem to be the best possible and we prove semiampleness under such conditions. In particular we derive semiampleness of the anti-canonical divisors of log canonical weak Fano 4-folds whose lc centers are at most 1-dimensional. We also investigate the Kleiman-Mori cones of weak log Fano pairs with log canonical singularities.
