Unique continuation for ∂ˉ\bar\partial with square-integrable potentials

In this paper, we investigate the unique continuation property for the inequality ∣∂ˉu∣≤V∣u∣|\bar\partial u| \le V|u|, where uu is a vector-valued function from a domain in Cn\mathbb C^n to CN\mathbb C^N, and the potential V∈L2V\in L^2. We show that the strong unique continuation property holds when n=1n=1, and the weak unique continuation property holds when n≥2n\ge 2. In both cases, the L2L^2 integrability condition on the potential is optimal.

Hölder estimates for the ∂ˉ\bar\partial problem for (p,q)(p,q) forms on product domains

The purpose of this paper is to study Hölder estimates for the ∂ˉ\bar\partial problem for (p,q)(p,q) forms on products of general planar domains. As indicated by an example of Stein and Kerzman, solutions to the ∂ˉ\bar\partial problem on product domains in Cn(n≥2)\mathbb C^n (n\ge 2) does not gain regularity in Hölder spaces. Making use of an integral representation of Nijenhuis and Woolf, we show that given a ∂ˉ\bar\partial-closed (p,q)(p,q) form with Ck,αC^{k,α} components, 0≤p≤n,1≤q≤n0\le p\le n, 1\le q\le n, k∈Z+∪{0},0<α≤1k\in \mathbb Z^+\cup \{0\}, 0<α\le 1, there is a Ck,α′C^{k, α'} solution to the ∂ˉ\bar\partial problem on product domains for any 0<α′<α0<α'<α with the desired Hölder estimate.

L2L^2 estimates of Poincaré-Lelong equations on convex domains in Cn\mathbb{C}^n

In this paper, we prove the existence of solutions of the Poincaré-Lelong equation −1∂∂ˉu=f\sqrt{-1}\partial\bar{\partial}u=f on a strictly convex bounded domain Ω⊂CnΩ\subset\mathbb{C}^n (n≥1)(n\geq1), where ff is a dd-closed (1,1)(1,1) form and is in the weighted Hilbert space L(1,1)2(Ω,e−φ)L^2_{(1,1)}(Ω,e^{-φ}). The novelty of this paper is to apply a weighted L2L^2 version of Poincaré Lemma for real 22-forms, and then apply Hörmander's L2L^2 solutions for Cauchy-Riemann equations.

Cauchy singular integral operator with parameters in Log-Hölder spaces

This paper is motivated by a claim in the classical textbook of Muskhelishvili concerning the Cauchy singular integral operator SS on Hölder functions with parameters. To the contrary of the claim, a counter example was constructed by Tumanov which shows that SS with parameters fails to maintain the same Hölder regularity with respect to the parameters. In view of the example, the behavior of the Cauchy singular integral operator with parameters between a type of Log-Hölder spaces is investigated to obtain the sharp norm estimates. At the end of the paper, we discuss its application to the ∂ˉ\bar\partial problem on product domains.

A boundary Schwarz Lemma for holomorphic mappings between unit balls of different dimensions

In this paper, we give a general boundary Schwarz lemma for holomorphic mappings between unit balls in any dimensions. It is proved that if the mapping f∈C1+αf\in C^{1+α} at z0∈∂Bnz_0\in \partial \mathbb B^n with f(z0)=w0∈∂BNf(z_0)=w_0\in \partial \mathbb B^N for any n,N≥1n,N\geq 1, then the Jacobian matrix Jf(z0)J_f(z_0) maps the tangent space Tz0(∂Bn)T_{z_0}(\partial \mathbb B^n) to Tw0(∂BN)T_{w_0}(\partial \mathbb B^N), and the holomorphic tangent space Tz0(1,0)(∂Bn)T^{(1,0)}_{z_0}(\partial \mathbb B^n) to Tw0(1,0)(∂BN)T^{(1,0)}_{w_0}(\partial \mathbb B^N) as well.

Continuous solutions of nonlinear Cauchy-Riemann equations and pseudoholomorphic curves in normal coordinates

We establish elliptic regularity for nonlinear inhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equations under minimal assumptions, and give a counterexample in a borderline case. In some cases where the inhomogeneous term has a separable factorization, the solution set can be explicitly calculated. The methods also give local parametric formulas for pseudoholomorphic curves with respect to some continuous almost complex structures.

A variant of Hörmander's L2L^2 theorem for Dirac operator in Clifford analysis

In this paper, we give the Hörmander's L2L^2 theorem for Dirac operator over an open subset Ω∈Rn+1Ω\in\R^{n+1} with Clifford algebra. Some sufficient condition on the existence of the weak solutions for Dirac operator has been found in the sense of Clifford analysis. In particular, if ΩΩ is bounded, then we prove that for any ff in L2L^2 space with value in Clifford algebra, there exists a weak solution of Dirac operator such that Dˉu=f\bar{D}u=f with uu in the L2L^2 space as well. The method is based on Hörmander's L2L^2 existence theorem in complex analysis and the L2L^2 weighted space is utilised.

On local solvability of nonlinear elliptic partial differential systems of principle type: the second order

We prove results on solvability of nonlinear elliptic partial differential systems of principle type of second order. They are consequences of existence of non-radial solutions for nonlinear partial differential systems of Poisson type. As applications to geometry, we prove the exsitence of local harmonic maps with given tangent plane at a point between any Riemannan manifolds. More generally geometric objects defined by Beltrami-Laplace always exist locally.

On the existence of solutions to nonlinear systems of higher order Poisson type

In this paper, we study the existence of higher order Poisson type systems. In detail, we prove a Residue type phenomenon for the fundamental solution of Laplacian in $\RR^n, n\ge 3$. This is analogous to the Residue theorem for the Cauchy kernel in $\CC$. With the aid of the Residue type formula for the fundamental solution, we derive the higher order derivative formula for the Newtonian potential and obtain its appropriate $\s C^{k, α}$ estimates. The existence of solutions to higher order Poisson type nonlinear systems is concluded as an application of the fixed point theorem.

Uniqueness Theorems for Ordinary Differential Equations with Hölder Continuity

We study ordinary differential equations of the type u(n)(t)=f(u(t))u^{(n)}(t)=f(u(t)) with initial conditions u(0)=u′(0)=...=u(m−1)(0)=0u(0) = u'(0) =... = u^{(m-1)}(0) = 0 and u(m)(0)≠0u^{(m)}(0) \neq 0 where m≥nm \geq n, no additional assumption is made on ff. We establish some uniqueness results and show that ff is always Hölder continuous.

On solvability of nonlinear partial differential systems of any order in the complex plane

We prove a general existence theorem for nonlinear partial differential systems of any order in one complex variable. A special case of first order contains a well-known theorem of Nijenhuis and Woolf concerning local existence of J-holomorphic curves on almost complex manifolds. As an application to differential geometry, we prove that non constant harmonic map always exists locally from a Riemann surface to a Riemannian manifold with a prescribed tangent vector at a given point.
