$B\to D \ell ν_\ell$ form factors beyond leading power and extraction of $|V_{cb}|$ and $R(D)$

We investigate the subleading-power corrections to the exclusive $B\to D \ell ν_\ell$ form factors at ${\cal O} (α_s^0)$ in the light-cone sum rules (LCSR) framework by including the two- and three-particle higher-twist contributions from the $B$-meson light-cone distribution amplitudes up to the twist-six accuracy, by taking into account the subleading terms in expanding the hard-collinear charm-quark propagator, and by evaluating the hadronic matrix element of the subleading effective current $\bar q \, γ_μ \, i \not\!\!{D}_\perp / (2 \, m_b) \, h_v$. Employing further the available leading-power results for the semileptonic $B \to D$ form factors at the next-to-leading-logarithmic level and combining our improved LCSR predictions with the recent lattice determinations, we then carry out a comprehensive phenomenological analysis on the semi-leptonic $B\to D \ell ν_\ell$ decay. We extract $|V_{cb}| = \big( 40.2^{+0.6}_{-0.5} {\big |_{\rm th}}\,\, {}^{+1.4}_{-1.4} {\big |_{\rm exp}} \big)\times 10^{-3}$ ($|V_{cb}| = \big( 40.9^{+0.6}_{-0.5} {\big |_{\rm th}}\,\, {}^{+1.0}_{-1.0} {\big |_{\rm exp}} \big)\times 10^{-3}$) using the BaBar (Belle) experimental data, and particularly obtain for the gold-plated ratio $R(D) = 0.302\pm 0.003$.

Next-to-Next-to-Leading-Order QCD Prediction for the Photon-Pion Form Factor

We accomplish the complete two-loop computation of the leading-twist contribution to the photon-pion transition form factor $γ\, γ^{\ast} \to π^0$ by applying the hard-collinear factorization theorem together with modern multi-loop techniques. The resulting predictions for the form factor indicate that the two-loop perturbative correction is numerically important. We also demonstrate that our results will play a key role in disentangling various models of the twist-two pion distribution amplitude thanks to the envisaged precision at Belle II.

Gluon Field Digitization via Group Space Decimation for Quantum Computers

Efficient digitization is required for quantum simulations of gauge theories. Schemes based on discrete subgroups use fewer qubits at the cost of systematic errors. We systematize this approach by deriving a single plaquette action for approximating general continuous gauge groups through integrating out field fluctuations. This provides insight into the effectiveness of these approximations, and how they could be improved. We accompany the scheme by simulations of pure gauge over the largest discrete subgroup of $SU(3)$ up to the third order.

Hyperfine Splitting in True Muonium to $\mathcal{O}(m_μα^6)$: Two Photon Annihilation Contribution from Other Flavors

The two-photon-annihilation contribution to the true muonium hyperfine splitting arising from $e$ and $τ$ loops is obtained analytically at order $m_μα^6$. The contribution to the hyperfine splitting is $-2.031092873 m_μα^6/n^3π^2=-793.926988/n^3$ MHz. The contribution to the triplet true muonium decay rate has also been obtained and was found to be $9.825708266 m_μα^6/n^3π^2=3840.737698/n^3$ MHz. Additional results have been computed for other purely leptonic bound states.

Compton scattering: from deeply virtual to quasi-real

We address the question of interpolation of the virtual Compton scattering process off a polarized nucleon target between the deeply virtual regime for the initial-state photon and its near on-shell kinematics making use of the photon helicity-dependent Compton Form Factors (CFFs) as a main ingredient of the formalism. The five-fold differential cross section for the reaction with all possible polarization options for the lepton and nucleon spins is evaluated in terms of CFFs in the rest reference frame of the initial-state nucleon. We suggest a rather simple parametrization of the Compton hadronic tensor in terms of CFFs which are free from kinematical singularities and are directly related, at large photon virtualities, to Generalized Parton Distributions. We also provide a relation of our basis spanned by a minimal number of Dirac bilinears to the one introduced by Tarrach for the parametrization of the virtual Compton tensor and utilize the former to establish a set of equalities among our CFFs and Generalized Polarizabilities. As a complementary result, we express Compton scattering in the Born approximation in terms of CFFs as well.

On equations of motion in twist-four evolution

Explicit diagrammatic calculation of evolution equations for high-twist correlation functions is a challenge already at one-loop order in QCD coupling. The main complication being quite involved mixing pattern of the so-called non-quasipartonic operators. Recently, this task was completed in the literature for twist-four nonsinglet sector. Presently, we elaborate on a particular component of renormalization corresponding to the mixing of gauge-invariant operators with QCD equations of motion. These provide an intrinsic contribution to evolution equations yielding total result in agreement with earlier computations that bypassed explicit analysis of Feynman graphs.

Renormalization of twist-four operators in light-cone gauge

We compute one-loop renormalization group equations for non-singlet twist-four operators in QCD. The calculation heavily relies on the light-cone gauge formalism in the momentum fraction space that essentially rephrases the analysis of all two-to two and two-to-three transition kernels to purely algebraic manipulations both for non- and quasipartonic operators. This is the first brute force calculation of this sector available in the literature. Fourier transforming our findings to the coordinate space, we checked them against available results obtained within a conformal symmetry-based formalism that bypasses explicit diagrammatic calculations and confirmed agreement with the latter.
