An infinite sequence of localized nodal solutions for Schrödinger-Poisson system with double potentials

In this paper, we study the existence of localized sign-changing (or nodal) solutions for the following nonlinear Schrödinger-Poisson system \begin{equation*} \begin{cases} -\varepsilon^2 Δu+V(x)u+ϕu=K(x)f(u),&\text{in}~\mathbb{R}^3,\\ -\varepsilon^2 Δϕ=u^2,&\text{in}~ \mathbb{R}^3, \end{cases} \end{equation*} where $\varepsilon>0$ is small parameters, the linear potential $V$ and nonlinear potential $K$ are bounded and bounded away from zero. By using the penalization method together with the method of invariant sets of descending flow, we establish the existence of an infinite sequence of localized sign-changing solutions which are higher topological type solutions given by the minimax characterization of the symmetric mountain pass theorem and we determine a concrete set as the concentration position of these sign-changing solutions. For single potential, that is, linear potential $V$ or nonlinear potential $K$ is a positive constant, we prove that these localized sign-changing solutions concentrated near a local minimum set of the potential $V$ or a local maximum set of the potential $K$. Moreover, our method is works for the following nonlinear Schrödinger equation \begin{equation*} -\varepsilon^2 Δu+V(x)u=K(x)f(u),~\text{in}~\mathbb{R}^N \end{equation*} where $N\geq 2$. The result generalizes the result by Chen and Wang (Calc.Var.Partial Differential Equations 56:1-26, 2017).

Localized concentration of semi-classical states for nonlinear Dirac equations

The present paper studies concentration phenomena of semiclassical approximation of a massive Dirac equation with general nonlinear self-coupling: \[ -i\hbarα\cdot\nabla w+aβw+V(x)w=g(|w|)w \,. \] Compared with some existing issues, the most interesting results obtained here are twofold: the solutions concentrating around local minima of the external potential; and the nonlinearities assumed to be either super-linear or asymptotically linear at the infinity. As a consequence one sees that, if there are $k$ bounded domains $Λ_j\subset\mathbb{R}^3$ such that $-a<\min_{Λ_j} V=V(x_j)<\min_{\partialΛ_j}V$, $x_j\inΛ_j$, then the $k$-families of solutions $w_\hbar^j$ concentrates around $x_j$ as $\hbar\to 0$, respectively. The proof relies on variational arguments: the solutions are found as critical points of an energy functional. The Dirac operator has a continuous spectrum which is not bounded from below and above, hence the energy functional is strongly indefinite. A penalization technique is developed here to obtain the desired solutions.

On the concentration of semi-classical states for a nonlinear Dirac-Klein-Gordon system

In the present paper, we study the semi-classical approximation of a Yukawa-coupled massive Dirac-Klein-Gordon system with some general nonlinear self-coupling. We prove that for a constrained coupling constant there exists a family of ground states of the semi-classical problem, for all $\hbar$ small, and show that the family concentrates around the maxima of the nonlinear potential as $\hbar\to0$. Our method is variational and relies upon a delicate cutting off technique. It allows us to overcome the lack of convexity of the nonlinearities.
