GUITester: Enabling GUI Agents for Exploratory Defect Discovery

Exploratory GUI testing is essential for software quality but suffers from high manual costs. While Multi-modal Large Language Model (MLLM) agents excel in navigation, they fail to autonomously discover defects due to two core challenges: \textit{Goal-Oriented Masking}, where agents prioritize task completion over reporting anomalies, and \textit{Execution-Bias Attribution}, where system defects are misidentified as agent errors. To address these, we first introduce \textbf{GUITestBench}, the first interactive benchmark for this task, featuring 143 tasks across 26 defects. We then propose \textbf{GUITester}, a multi-agent framework that decouples navigation from verification via two modules: (i) a \textit{Planning-Execution Module (PEM)} that proactively probes for defects via embedded testing intents, and (ii) a \textit{Hierarchical Reflection Module (HRM)} that resolves attribution ambiguity through interaction history analysis. GUITester achieves an F1-score of 48.90\% (Pass@3) on GUITestBench, outperforming state-of-the-art baselines (33.35\%). Our work demonstrates the feasibility of autonomous exploratory testing and provides a robust foundation for future GUI quality assurance~\footnote{Our code is now available in~\href{https://github.com/ADaM-BJTU/GUITestBench}{https://github.com/ADaM-BJTU/GUITestBench}}.

Kallima: A Clean-label Framework for Textual Backdoor Attacks

Although Deep Neural Network (DNN) has led to unprecedented progress in various natural language processing (NLP) tasks, research shows that deep models are extremely vulnerable to backdoor attacks. The existing backdoor attacks mainly inject a small number of poisoned samples into the training dataset with the labels changed to the target one. Such mislabeled samples would raise suspicion upon human inspection, potentially revealing the attack. To improve the stealthiness of textual backdoor attacks, we propose the first clean-label framework Kallima for synthesizing mimesis-style backdoor samples to develop insidious textual backdoor attacks. We modify inputs belonging to the target class with adversarial perturbations, making the model rely more on the backdoor trigger. Our framework is compatible with most existing backdoor triggers. The experimental results on three benchmark datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

On a general multi-layered hyperelastic plate theory of growth

In this paper, we propose a multi-layered hyperelastic plate theory of growth within the framework of nonlinear elasticity. First, the 3D governing system for a general multi-layered hyperelastic plate is established, which incorporates the growth effect, and the material and geometrical parameters of the different layers. Then, a series expansion-truncation approach is adopted to eliminate the thickness variables in the 3D governing system. An elaborate calculation scheme is applied to derive the iteration relations of the coefficient functions in the series expansions. Through some further manipulations, a 2D vector plate equation system with the associated boundary conditions is established, which only contains the unknowns in the bottom layer of the plate. To show the efficiency of the current plate theory, three typical examples regarding the growth-induced deformations and instabilities of multi-layered plate samples are studied. Some analytical and numerical solutions to the plate equation are obtained, which can provide accurate predictions on the growth behaviors of the plate samples. Furthermore, the problem of `shape-programming' of multi-layered hyperelastic plates through differential growth is studied. The explicit formulas of shape-programming for some typical multi-layered plates are derived, which involve the fundamental quantities of the 3D target shapes. By using these formulas, the shape evolutions of the plates during the growing processes can be controlled accurately. The results obtained in the current work are helpful for the design of intelligent soft devices with multi-layered plate structures.

Pathways, Scaling Laws and Analytical Solutions for Crease Formations in a Gel Layer

An analytical study on crease formations in a swelling gel layer is conducted. By exploring the smallness of the layer thickness and using a method of coupled series-asymptotic expansions, the original nonlinear eigenvalue problem of partial differential equations is reduced to one of ordinary differential equations. The latter problem is then solved analytically to obtain closed-form solutions for all the post-bifurcation branches. With the available analytical results, a number of deep insights on crease formations are provided, including the unveiling of three pathways to crease (depending on the layer thickness), determination of the bifurcation type, establishment of a lower bound for mode numbers and two scaling laws. Also, a number of experimental results are captured, which are then nicely interpreted based on the analytical solutions. In particular, it is shown that some critical physical quantities are invariant with respect to the thickness at the moment of crease formation. It appears that the present work offers a comprehensive understanding on crease formation, a widely-spread phenomenon.
