Holographic Complexity Growth Rate in a dual FLRW Universe

In this paper, taking the large $R$ limit and using the complexity-volume duality, we investigate the holographic complexity growth rate of a field state defined on the universe located at an asymptotical AdS boundary in Gauss-Bonnet gravity and massive gravity, respectively. For the Gauss-Bonnet gravity case, its growth behavior of the state mainly presents three kinds of contributions: one, as a finite term viewed as an interaction term, comes from a conserved charge, the second one is from the spatial volume of the universe and the third one relates the curvature of the horizon in the AdS Gauss-Bonnet black hole, where the Gauss-Bonnet effect plays a vital role on such growth rate. For massive gravity case, except the first divergent term still obeying the growth rate of the spatial volume of the Universe, its results reveal the more interesting novel phenomenons: beside the conserved charge $E$, the graviton mass term also provides its effect to the finite term; and the third divergent term is determined by the spatial curvature of its horizon $k$ and graviton mass effect; furthermore, the graviton mass effect can be completely responsible for the second divergent term as a new additional term saturating an area law.

Bouncing universe with modified dispersion relation

In this paper, employing the modified dispersion relation, we have derived the general modified Friedmann equations and the corresponding modified entropy relations for the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) Universe. In this setup, we find that when the big bounce happens, its energy scale and its corresponding modified entropy behavior are sensitive to the value of $k$. In contrast to the previous work with $k=0$, our work mainly demonstrates that the bouncing behavior for the closed Universe with $k=1$ appears at the normal energy limit of the modified dispersion relation introduced, and when bouncing phenomenon is in presence, its modified entropy is just equal to zero. Surprisingly, when $k=-1$, the bouncing behavior is in absence.

Fluid/gravity correspondence for massive gravity

In this paper, we investigate the fluid/gravity correspondence in the framework of massive Einstein gravity. Treating the gravitational mass terms as an effective energy-momentum tensor and utilizing the Petrov-like boundary condition on a timelike hypersurface, we find that the perturbation effects of massive gravity in bulk can be completely governed by the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation living on the cutoff surface under the near horizon and nonrelativistic limits. Furthermore, we have concisely computed the ratio of dynamical viscosity to entropy density for two massive Einstein gravity theories, and found that they still saturate the Kovtun-Son-Starinets (KSS) bound.

From Petrov-Einstein-Dilaton-Axion to Navier-Stokes equation in anisotropic model

In this paper we generalize the previous works to the case that the near-horizon dynamics of the Einstein-Dilaton-Axion theory can be governed by the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation via imposing the Petrov-like boundary condition on hypersurfaces in the non-relativistic and near-horizon limit. The dynamical shear viscosity $η$ of such dual horizon fluid in our scenario, which isotropically saturates the Kovtun-Son-Starinet (KSS) bound, is independent of both the dilaton field and axion field in that limit.

(m,n)-type holographic dark energy models

We construct $(m,n)$-type holographic dark energy models at a phenomenological level, which can be viewed as a generalization of agegraphic models with the conformal-like age as the holographic characteristic size. For some values of $(m,n)$ the holographic dark energy can automatically evolve across $ω=-1$ into a phantom phase even without introducing an interaction between the dark energy and background matter. Our construction is also applicable to the holographic dark energy with generalized future event horizon as the characteristic size. Finally, we address the issue on the stability of our model and show that they are generally stable under the scalar perturbation.

Note on the emergence of cosmic space in modified gravities

Intrigued by the holographic principle, Padmanabhan recently proposed a novel idea, saying that our cosmic space is emergent as cosmic time progresses. In particular, the expansion rate of the Universe is related to the difference between the surface degrees of freedom on the holographic horizon and the bulk degrees of freedom inside. In this note, we generalize this interesting paradigm to brane world, scalar-tensor gravity, and f(R) theory, respectively, and find that in the cosmological setting the Friedmann equations can be successfully derived.

Fluid/gravity duality with Petrov-like boundary condition in a spacetime with a cosmological constant

Recently it has been shown that imposing Petrov type I condition on the boundary may reduce the Einstein's equation to the Navier-Stokes equation in the non-relativistic and near-horizon limit. In this paper we extend this framework to a spacetime with a cosmological constant. By explicit construction we show that the Navier-Stokes equation can be derived from both black brane background and spatially curved spacetime. We also conjecture that imposing Petrov type I condition on the boundary should be equivalent to the conventional method using the hydrodynamical expansion of the metric in the near horizon limit.

From Petrov-Einstein to Navier-Stokes in Spatially Curved Spacetime

We generalize the framework in arXiv:1104.5502 to the case that an embedding may have a nonvanishing intrinsic curvature. Directly employing the Brown-York stress tensor as the fundamental variables, we study the effect of finite perturbations of the extrinsic curvature while keeping the intrinsic metric fixed. We show that imposing a Petrov type I condition on the hypersurface geometry may reduce to the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation for a fluid moving in spatially curved spacetime in the near-horizon limit.
