Long Run Incremental Cost (LRIC) Distribution Network Pricing in UK, advising China's Distribution Network

Electricity distribution network system is considered one of the key component of the modern electrical power system. Due to increase in the energy demand, penetration of renewable energy resources into the power system has been extensively increasing in recent years. More and more distributed generations (DGs) are joining the distribution network to create balance in the power system and meet the supply and demand of consumers. Today, large amount of DGs inclusion in the distribution network system has completely modernized power system resulting in a decentralize electricity market. Hence, Government of UK is pressurizing 14 distribution network operators (DNOs) to include more DGs into their distribution network system. DGs inclusion in the network system might be helpful due to many factors, but it creates many challenges for distribution network system in the long term. The network security is realized to be one of the challenge that impact the efficiency of accurate calculation and distribution of network pricing among consumers. To address the aforementioned issue, this research analysed the network security on the basis of Long run incremental cost (LRIC) pricing to balance and reduce the network pricing for the DNOs in UK. However, this study presented an approach of Deep reinforcement learning (DRL) also called deep reinforcement learning algorithm (DQN) to optimize the reactive power values in the network to balance and reduce the network pricing while keeping the network security. The method considers IEEE14 bus as its mathematical model and practically simulates the method in MATLAB using DQN algorithm pseudo codes. The network security has been analysed with and without security factor before and after the nodal injection into the network.

Introducing Memory and Association Mechanism into a Biologically Inspired Visual Model

A famous biologically inspired hierarchical model firstly proposed by Riesenhuber and Poggio has been successfully applied to multiple visual recognition tasks. The model is able to achieve a set of position- and scale-tolerant recognition, which is a central problem in pattern recognition. In this paper, based on some other biological experimental results, we introduce the Memory and Association Mechanisms into the above biologically inspired model. The main motivations of the work are (a) to mimic the active memory and association mechanism and add the 'top down' adjustment to the above biologically inspired hierarchical model and (b) to build up an algorithm which can save the space and keep a good recognition performance. The new model is also applied to object recognition processes. The primary experimental results show that our method is efficient with much less memory requirement.

A New Boundary Scheme for BGK Model

In this paper, we proposed a new boundary condition scheme for the BGK model which has second order accuracy and can be developed to higher accuracy. Numerical tests show that the numerical solutions of the BGK model applied to the new boundary scheme have great agreement with analytical solutions. It is also found that the numerical accuracy of the present schemes is much better than that of the original extrapolation schemes proposed by Guo et al at small grid.

A Simple Method to Construct Local Equilibrium Function for One Dimensional Lattice Boltzmann Method

We have developed a simple method to construct local equilibrium function for one dimensional lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). This new method can make LBM model satisfy compressible flow with a flexible specific-heat ratio. Test cases, including the one dimensional Sod flow and one dimensional Lax flow are presented. Favorable results are obtained using proposed new method, indicating that the proposed method is potentially capable of constructing of the local equilibrium function for one dimensional LBM.
