Thermalization and long-lived quantum memory in the multi-atomic ensembles

We have studied the role of thermalization in lifetime reduction of quantum memory based on multi-atomic ensembles. Herein, it is shown to be impossible to remove the thermaization-caused decoherence in such systems using the methods of dynamical decoupling. We have analyzed the existing models of the thermalization and have proposed a new understanding of the thermalization as a result of the internal processes which are not described in the unitary quantum dynamics formalism. The possible ways for reducing the negative influence of thermalization on the quantum memory lifetime are also discussed.

Canonical distribution and incompleteness of quantum mechanics

The paper discusses the physical groundlessness of the models used for the derivation of canonical distribution and provides the experimental data demonstrating the incompleteness of quantum mechanics. The possibility of using statistical ensembles is presented as a consequence of the existence of probabilistic processes which are not accounted for by quantum mechanics. The paper provides a new analytical derivation of canonical distribution for macrosystems which takes into account subquantum processes. The paper discusses the possibility of the experimental study of a probability which is beyond quantum mechanics.

Short cycle pulse sequence for dynamical decoupling of local fields and dipole-dipole interactions

We propose a new pulse sequence for dynamical averaging of the dipole-dipole interactions and inhomogeneities of the magnetic fields in the nuclear spin system. The sequence contains a short cycle of the periodic resonant pulse excitation that offers new possibilities for implementing the long-lived multi-qubit quantum memory on the condensed spin ensembles that are so important for construction of universal quantum computer and long-distance quantum communications.

Statistical ensembles and X-probability

We show insurmountable contradictions which arise if statistical ensembles are considered a consequence of the influence of the environment of the physical systems. We regard the multiplicity of states with a definite energy value as a result of internal probabilistic processes in the macrosystem; these internal probabilistic processes are not taken into account by quantum mechanics. On a simple example it is demonstrated, that canonical distribution is not independent and equal to microcanonical one, but is a result of averaging by microcanonical ensemble.

X-probability and Irreversibility Paradox

Based on the general thought that mechanics cannot be absolutely exact, supported by pulsed nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) experiments on the reversal of time in spin systems, we postulate existence of a probability which do not follow from the Schroudinger equation, or X-probability. It is shown that the X-probability allows explain irreversibility of evolution of macrosystems, and also creates a basis for using probabilistic methods in statistical mechanics and for deliverance from the mechanical determinism.
