A short note on a conjecture of Okounkov about a q-analogue of multiple zeta values

In [Ok] Okounkov studies a specific $q$-analogue of multiple zeta values and makes some conjectures on their algebraic structure. In this note we compare Okounkovs $q$-analogues to the generating function for multiple divisor sums defined in [BK1]. We also state a conjecture on their dimensions that complements Okounkovs conjectural formula and present some numerical evidences for it.

The algebra of generating functions for multiple divisor sums and applications to multiple zeta values

We study the algebra MD of generating function for multiple divisor sums and its connections to multiple zeta values. The generating functions for multiple divisor sums are formal power series in q with coefficients in Q arising from the calculation of the Fourier expansion of multiple Eisenstein series. We show that the algebra MD is a filtered algebra equipped with a derivation and use this derivation to prove linear relations in MD. The (quasi-)modular forms for the full modular group Sl_2(Z) constitute a sub-algebra of MD this also yields linear relations in MD. Generating functions of multiple divisor sums can be seen as a q-analogue of multiple zeta values. Studying a certain map from this algebra into the real numbers we will derive a new explanation for relations between multiple zeta values, including those in length 2, coming from modular forms.

On the arithmetic self-intersection number of the dualizing sheaf on arithmetic surfaces

We study the arithmetic self-intersection number of the dualizing sheaf on arithmetic surfaces with respect to morphisms of a particular kind. We obtain upper bounds for the arithmetic self-intersection number of the dualizing sheaf on minimal regular models of the modular curves associated with congruence subgroups $Γ_0(N)$ with square free level, as well as for the modular curves X(N) and the Fermat curves with prime exponent.

On Kudla's Green function for signature (2,2) Part II

Around 2000 Kudla presented conjectures about deep relations between arithmetic intersection theory, Eisenstein series and their derivatives, and special values of Rankin $L-$series. The aim of this text is to work out the details of an old unpublished draft on the second author's attempt to prove these conjectures for the case of the product of two modular curves. In part one we proved that the generating series of certain modified arithmetic special cycles is as predicted by Kudla's conjectures a modular form with values in the first arithmetic Chow group. Here we pair this generating series with the square of the first arithmetic Chern class of the line bundle of modular forms. Up to previously known Faltings heights of Hecke correspondences only integrals of the Green functions $Ξ(m)$ over $X$ had to be computed. The resulting arithmetic intersection numbers turn out to be as predicted by Kudla to be strongly related to the Fourier coefficients of the derivative of the classical real analytic Eisenstein series $E_2(τ, s)$.

On Kudla's Green function for signature (2,2), part I

Around 2000 Kudla presented conjectures about deep relations between arithmetic intersection theory, Eisenstein series and their derivatives, and special values of Rankin L-series. The aim of this text is to work out the details of an old unpublished draft on the second authors attempt to prove these conjectures for the case of the product of two modular curves. The mayor difficulties in our situation are of analytical nature, therefore this text assembles some material concerning Kudla's Green function associated to this situation. We present a mild modification of this Green function that satisfies the requirements of being a Green function in the sense of Arakelov theory on the natural compactification in addition. Only this allows us to define arithmetic special cycles. We then prove that the generating series of those modified arithmetic special cycles is as predicted by Kudla's conjectures a modular form with values in the first arithmetic Chow group.
