Resolving subcategories and dimensions in recollements of extriangulated categories

Recently, Wang, Wei and Zhang introduced the notion of recollements of extriangulated categories. In this paper, let (A,B,C)(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B},\mathcal{C}) be a recollement of extriangulated categories. We provide some methods to construct resolving subcategories in (A,B,C)(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B},\mathcal{C}). As applications of the Auslander-Reiten correspondence, we get the gluing of cotilting modules in a recollement of module categories for artin algebras. We also give some bounds of resolution dimensions of the categories involved in (A,B,C)(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B},\mathcal{C}) with respect to resolving subcategories, which generalize some known results.

Almost Split Triangles and Morphisms Determined by Objects in Extriangulated Categories

Let (C,E,s)(\mathfrak{C},\mathbb{E},\mathfrak{s}) be an Ext-finite, Krull-Schmidt and kk-linear extriangulated category with kk a commutative artinian ring. We define an additive subcategory Cr\mathfrak{C}_r (respectively, Cl\mathfrak{C}_l) of C\mathfrak{C} in terms of the representable functors from the stable category of C\mathfrak{C} modulo s\mathfrak{s}-injectives (respectively, s\mathfrak{s}-projectives) to kk-modules, which consists of all s\mathfrak{s}-projective (respectively, s\mathfrak{s}-injective) objects and objects isomorphic to direct summands of finite direct sums of all third (respectively, first) terms of almost split s\mathfrak{s}-triangles. We investigate the subcategories Cr\mathfrak{C}_r and Cl\mathfrak{C}_l in terms of morphisms determined by objects, and then give equivalent characterizations on the existence of almost split s\mathfrak{s}-triangles.

Avramov-Martsinkovsky type exact sequences for extriangulated categories

Let (C,E,s)(\mathcal{C},\mathbb{E},\mathfrak{s}) be an extriangulated category with a proper class ξξ of E\mathbb{E}-triangles. In this paper, we first introduce the ξξ-Gorenstein cohomology in terms of ξξ-G\mathcal{G}projective resolutions and ξξ-G\mathcal{G}injective coresolutions, respectively, and then we get the balance of ξξ-Gorenstein cohomology. Moreover, we study the interplay among ξξ-cohomology, ξξ-Gorenstein cohomology and ξξ-complete cohomology, and obtain the Avramov-Martsinkovsky type exact sequences in this setting.

Duality Pairs Induced by One-Sided Gorenstein Subcategories

For a ring RR and an additive subcategory $\C$ of the category $\Mod R$ of left RR-modules, under some conditions we prove that the right Gorenstein subcategory of $\Mod R$ and the left Gorenstein subcategory of $\Mod R^{op}$ relative to $\C$ form a coproduct-closed duality pair. Let R,SR,S be rings and CC a semidualizing (R,SR,S)-bimodule. As applications of the above result, we get that if SS is right coherent and CC is faithfully semidualizing, then (GFC(R),GIC(Rop))(\mathcal{GF}_C(R),\mathcal{GI}_C(R^{op})) is a coproduct-closed duality pair and GFC(R)\mathcal{GF}_C(R) is covering in $\Mod R$, where GFC(R)\mathcal{G}\mathcal{F}_C(R) is the subcategory of $\Mod R$ consisting of CC-Gorenstein flat modules and GIC(Rop)\mathcal{G}\mathcal{I}_C(R^{op}) is the subcategory of $\Mod R^{op}$ consisting of CC-Gorenstein injective modules; we also get that if SS is right coherent, then (AC(Rop),lG(FC(R)))(\mathcal{A}_C(R^{op}),l\mathcal{G}(\mathcal{F}_C(R))) is a coproduct-closed and product-closed duality pair and AC(Rop)\mathcal{A}_C(R^{op}) is covering and preenveloping in $\Mod R^{op}$, where AC(Rop)\mathcal{A}_C(R^{op}) is the Auslander class in $\Mod R^{op}$ and lG(FC(R))l\mathcal{G}(\mathcal{F}_C(R)) is the left Gorenstein subcategory of $\Mod R$ relative to CC-flat modules.

Idempotent completion of extriangulated categories

Extriangulated categories were introduced by Nakaoka and Palu as a simultaneous generalization of exact categories and triangulated categories. In this paper, we show that the idempotent completion of an extriangulated category admits a natural extriangulated structure. As applications, we prove that cotorsion pairs in an extriangulated category induce cotorsion pairs in its idempotent completion under certain condition, and the idempotent completion of a recollement of extriangulated categories is still a recollement.

One-Sided Gorenstein Subcategories

We introduce the right (left) Gorenstein subcategory relative to an additive subcategory $\C$ of an abelian category $\A$, and prove that the right Gorenstein subcategory rG(C)r\mathcal{G}(\mathscr{C}) is closed under extensions, kernels of epimorphisms, direct summands and finite direct sums. When $\C$ is self-orthogonal, we give a characterization for objects in rG(C)r\mathcal{G}(\mathscr{C}), and prove that any object in $\A$ with finite $r\mathcal{G}(\C)$-projective dimension is isomorphic to a kernel (resp. a cokernel) of a morphism from an object in $\A$ with finite $\C$-projective dimension to an object in $r\mathcal{G}(\C)$. As an application, we obtain a weak Auslander-Buchweitz context related to the kernel of a hereditary cotorsion pair in $\A$ having enough injectives.

Relative FP-injective and FP-flat complexes and their model structures

In this paper, we introduce the notions of FPn{\rm FP}_n-injective and FPn{\rm FP}_n-flat complexes in terms of complexes of type FPn{\rm FP}_n. We show that some characterizations analogous to that of injective, FP-injective and flat complexes exist for FPn{\rm FP}_n-injective and FPn{\rm FP}_n-flat complexes. We also introduce and study FPn{\rm FP}_n-injective and FPn{\rm FP}_n-flat dimensions of modules and complexes, and give a relation between them in terms of Pontrjagin duality. The existence of pre-envelopes and covers in this setting is discussed, and we prove that any complex has an FPn{\rm FP}_n-flat cover and an FPn{\rm FP}_n-flat pre-envelope, and in the case n≥2n \geq 2 that any complex has an FPn{\rm FP}_n-injective cover and an FPn{\rm FP}_n-injective pre-envelope. Finally, we construct model structures on the category of complexes from the classes of modules with bounded FPn{\rm FP}_n-injective and FPn{\rm FP}_n-flat dimensions, and analyze several conditions under which it is possible to connect these model structures via Quillen functors and Quillen equivalences.
