CelebA-Spoof Challenge 2020 on Face Anti-Spoofing: Methods and Results

As facial interaction systems are prevalently deployed, security and reliability of these systems become a critical issue, with substantial research efforts devoted. Among them, face anti-spoofing emerges as an important area, whose objective is to identify whether a presented face is live or spoof. Recently, a large-scale face anti-spoofing dataset, CelebA-Spoof which comprised of 625,537 pictures of 10,177 subjects has been released. It is the largest face anti-spoofing dataset in terms of the numbers of the data and the subjects. This paper reports methods and results in the CelebA-Spoof Challenge 2020 on Face AntiSpoofing which employs the CelebA-Spoof dataset. The model evaluation is conducted online on the hidden test set. A total of 134 participants registered for the competition, and 19 teams made valid submissions. We will analyze the top ranked solutions and present some discussion on future work directions.

Robust Trajectory-Constrained Frequency Control for Microgrids Considering Model Linearization Error

The capability to switch between grid-connected and islanded modes has promoted adoption of microgrid technology for powering remote locations. Stabilizing frequency during the islanding event, however, is a challenging control task, particularly under high penetration of converter-interfaced sources. In this paper, a numerical optimal control (NOC)-based control synthesis methodology is proposed for preparedness of microgrid islanding that ensure guaranteed performance. The key feature of the proposed paradigm is near real-time centralized scheduling for real-time decentralized executing. For tractable computation, linearized models are used in the problem formulation. To accommodate the linearization errors, interval analysis is employed to compute linearization-induced uncertainty as numerical intervals so that the NOC problem can be formulated into a robust mixed-integer linear program. The proposed control is verified on the full nonlinear model in Simulink. The simulation results shown effectiveness of the proposed control paradigm and the necessity of considering linearization-induced uncertainty.

A Novel Method to Obtain Wires Distribution Considering the Shape of Generated Electromagnetic Field

This paper proposes a method to calculate the wires distribution for generating required electromagnetic field. Instead of solving the distribution of wires directly, we formulate the problem into zero-one programming form. By applying the proposed algorithm to solve the zero-one programming problem, a practical solution can be obtained. Two practical examples are proposed to illustrate detailed calculation steps of the novel method. The comparison between binary particle swarm optimization searching algorithm and the pro-posed algorithm is provided and discussed. All the design results are validated with FEM calculation results.
