Duality for asymptotic invariants of graded families

The starting point of this paper is a duality for sequences of natural numbers which, under mild hypotheses, interchanges subadditive and superadditive sequences and inverts their asymptotic growth constants. We are motivated to explore this sequence duality since it arises naturally in at least two important algebraic-geometric contexts. The first context is Macaulay-Matlis duality, where the sequence of initial degrees of the family of symbolic powers of a radical ideal is dual to the sequence of Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity values of a quotient by ideals generated by powers of linear forms. This philosophy is drawn from an influential paper of Emsalem and Iarrobino. We generalize this duality to differentially closed graded filtrations of ideals. In a different direction, we establish a duality between the sequence of Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity values of the symbolic powers of certain ideals and a geometrically inspired sequence we term the jet separation sequence. We show that this duality underpins the reciprocity between two important geometric invariants: the multipoint Seshadri constant and the asymptotic regularity of a set of points in projective space.

The Initial Degree of Symbolic Powers of Ideals of Fermat Configuration of Points

Let $n \ge 2$ be an integer and consider the defining ideal of the Fermat configuration of points in $\mathbb{P}^2$: $I_n=(x(y^n-z^n),y(z^n-x^n),z(x^n-y^n)) \subset R=\mathbb{C}[x,y,z]$. In this paper, we compute explicitly the least degree of generators of its symbolic powers in all unknown cases. As direct applications, we easily verify Chudnovsky's Conjecture, Demailly's Conjecture and Harbourne-Huneke Containment problem as well as calculating explicitly the Waldschmidt constant and (asymptotic) resurgence number.

Quasi f-Ideals

The notion off-ideals is recent and has been studied in the papers[1] [2], [5], [10], [11], [12], [13], [14] and [15]. In this paper, we have generalized the idea off-ideals to quasi f-ideals. This extended class of ideals is much bigger than the class of all f-ideals. Apart from giving various characterizations of quasi f-ideals of degree 2, we have determined all the minimal primes ideals of these ideals. Moreover, construction of quasi f-ideals of degree 2 has been described; the formula for computing Hilbert function and Hilbert series of the polynomial ring modulo quasi f-ideal has been provided.

Quasi f-Simplicial Complexes and Quasi f-Graphs

The notion of $f$-ideal is recent and has so far been studied in several papers. In \cite{qfi}, the idea of $f$-ideal is generalized to quasi $f$-ideals, which is much larger class than the class of $f$-ideals. In this paper, we introduce the concept of quasi $f$-simplicial complex and quasi $f$-graph. We give a characterization of quasi $f$-graphs on $n$ vertices. A complete solution of connectedness of quasi $f$-simplicial complexes is described. We have also shown a method of constructing Cohen-Macaulay quasi $f$-graphs.
