Mean field approaches for Ξ−Ξ^- hypernuclei and current experimental data

Motivated by the recently observed hypernucleus (Kiso event) Ξ15^{15}_ΞC (14^{14}N+Ξ−+Ξ^-), we identify the state of this system theoretically within the framework of the relativistic-mean-field and Skyrme-Hartree-Fock models. The ΞNΞN interactions are constructed to reproduce the two possibly observed Ξ−Ξ^- removal energies, 4.38±0.254.38\pm 0.25 MeV or 1.11±0.251.11\pm 0.25 MeV. The present result is preferable to be 14N(g.s.)+Ξ−(1p)^{14}{\rm N}({\rm g.s.})+Ξ^-(1p), corresponding to the latter value.

Green's function method for single-particle resonant states in relativistic mean field theory

Relativistic mean field theory is formulated with the Green's function method in coordinate space to investigate the single-particle bound states and resonant states on the same footing. Taking the density of states for free particle as a reference, the energies and widths of single-particle resonant states are extracted from the density of states without any ambiguity. As an example, the energies and widths for single-neutron resonant states in 120^{120}Sn are compared with those obtained by the scattering phase-shift method, the analytic continuation in the coupling constant approach, the real stabilization method and the complex scaling method. Excellent agreements are found for the energies and widths of single-neutron resonant states.

Odd-even staggering of neutron radii for neutron-rich Mg isotopes in continuum Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory

The self-consistent continuum Skyrme-Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov theory formulated with Green's function technique in the coordinate space is developed to investigate odd-AA nuclei by incorporating the blocking effect. In a calculation performed with the SLy4 parameter for the neutron-rich Mg isotopes with A=36−42A=36-42 around the neutron shell closure N=28, the odd-even staggering in the neutron rms radius, i.e., a larger value in 39^{39}Mg than those in 38^{38}Mg and 40^{40}Mg, is found. The large neutron radius in 39^{39}Mg is due to the blocking effect on the pair correlation energy, for which the configuration occupying the weakly-bound quasiparticle state 2p3/22p_{3/2} becomes the ground state instead of the 1f7/21f_{7/2} configuration. Performing systematic calculations with different Skyrme parameters we find that the ground state configuration for the odd-AA Mg isotopes, and hence the odd-even staggering of neutron radii, are sensitive to the details in the single-particle spectra, especially the gap between orbits 1f7/21f_{7/2} and 2p3/22p_{3/2}.
