On Certain Topological Indices of Signed Graphs

The first Zagreb index of a graph GG is the sum of squares of the vertex degrees in a graph and the second Zagreb index of GG is the sum of products of degrees of adjacent vertices in GG. The imbalance of an edge in GG is the numerical difference of degrees of its end vertices and the irregularity of GG is the sum of imbalances of all its edges. In this paper, we extend the concepts of these topological indices for signed graphs and discuss the corresponding results on signed graphs.

A Study on Ornated Graphs

In this paper, we introduce the notion of a finite non-simple directed graph, called an ornated graph and initiate a study on ornated graphs. An ornated graph is a directed graph on nn vertices, denoted by On(sl)O_n(s_l), whose vertices are consecutively labeled clockwise on the circumference of a circle and constructed from an ordered string sls_l joining them in such a way that for an odd indexed entry ata_t of the string, a tail viv_i has clockwise heads vjv_j if and only if (i+at)≥j(i+a_t) \ge j and for an even indexed entry asa_s of the string a tail viv_i has anticlockwise heads vjv_j if and only if (i−as)≤j(i-a_s) \le j. The collection of the ornated graphs having this property is called the family of ornated graphs. Some interesting results are also presented in this paper on certain types of ornated graphs.

Certain Types of Total Irregularities of Graphs and Digraphs

The total irregularity of a simple undirected graph GG is denoted by irrt(G)irr_t(G) and is defined as irrt(G)=12∑u,v∈V(G)∣d(u)−d(v)∣irr_t(G) = \frac{1}{2}\sum\limits_{u,v \in V(G)}|d(u) - d(v)|. In this paper, the concept called edge-transformation in relation to total irregularity of simple undirected graphs with at least one cut edge is introduced. We also introduce the concept of an edge-joint between two simple undirected graphs. We also introduce the concept of total irregularity in respect of in-degree and out-degree in simple directed graphs. These invariants are called total in-irregularity and total out-irregularity respectively. In this paper, we initiate a study on these parameters of given simple undirected graphs and simple digraphs.
