Complete gradient Einstein-type Sasakian manifolds with $α=0$

Catino, Mastrolia, Monticelli, and Rigoli have launched an ambitious program to study known geometric solitons from a unified perspective, which they term Einstein-type manifolds. This framework allows one to treat Ricci solitons, Yamabe solitons, and all of their generalizations simultaneously. Einstein-type manifolds are characterized by four constants $α, β, μ$ and $ρ$. In this paper, we show that when $α= 0$, complete gradient Einstein-type Sasakian manifolds are trivial or isometric to the unit sphere. As a consequence, many geometric solitons on Sasakian manifolds turn out to be trivial or isometric to the unit sphere.

Self-similar solutions to the Hesse flow

We define a Hesse soliton, that is, a self-similar solution to the Hesse flow on Hessian manifolds. On information geometry, the $e$-connection and the $m$-connection are important, which do not coincide with the Levi-Civita one. Therefore, it is interesting to consider a Hessian manifold with a flat connection which does not coincide with the Levi-Civita one. We call it a proper Hessian manifold. In this paper, we show that any compact proper Hesse soliton is expanding and any non-trivial compact gradient Hesse soliton is proper. Furthermore, we show that the dual space of a Hesse-Einstein manifold can be understood as a Hesse soliton.

Triharmonic Riemannian submersions from 3-dimensional manifolds of constant curvature

For biharmonic maps, there is a famous conjecture named Chen's conjecture. In later paper, Wang and Ou gave an affirmative partial answer to submersion version of Chen's conjecture. In this paper, we give an affirmative partial answer to submersion version of generalized Chen's conjecture, that is, triharmonic Riemannian submersions from a 3-dimensional space form into a surface is harmonic.

Biharmonic submanifolds in manifolds with bounded curvature

We consider a complete biharmonic submanifold $ϕ:(M,g)\rightarrow (N,h)$ in a Riemannian manifold with sectional curvature bounded from above by a non-negative constant $c$. Assume that the mean curvature is bounded from below by $\sqrt c$. If (i) $\int_M (|{\bf H}|^2-c)^{p}dv_g<\infty$, for some $0<p<\infty$, or (ii) the Ricci curvature of $M$ is bounded from below, then the mean curvature is $\sqrt c$. Furthermore, if $M$ is compact, then we obtain the same result without the assumption (i) or (ii).

Biharmonic maps from a complete Riemannian manifold into a non-positively curved manifold

We consider biharmonic maps $ϕ:(M,g)\rightarrow (N,h)$ from a complete Riemannian manifold into a Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature. Assume that $α$ satisfies $1<α<\infty$. If for such an $α$, $\int_M|τ(ϕ)|^αdv_g<\infty$ and $\int_M|dϕ|^2dv_g<\infty,$ where $τ(ϕ)$ is the tension field of $ϕ$, then we show that $ϕ$ is harmonic. For a biharmonic submanifold, we obtain that the above assumption $\int_M|dϕ|^2dv_g<\infty$ is not necessary. These results give affirmative partial answers to the global version of generalized Chen's conjecture.

Polyharmonic maps of order k with finite L^p k-energy into Euclidean spaces

We consider polyharmonic maps $ϕ:(M,g)\rightarrow $\mathbb{E}^n$ of order k from a complete Riemannian manifold into the Euclidean space and let $p$ be a real constant satisfying $1<p<\infty$. (i) If, $\int_M|W^{k-1}|^p dv_g<\infty,$ and $\int_M|\bar \nabla W^{k-2}|^2dv_g<\infty.$ Then $ϕ$ is a polyharmonic map of order k-1. (ii) If, $\int_M|W^{k-1}|^p dv_g<\infty,$ and $Vol (M,g)=\infty.$ Then $ϕ$ is a polyharmonic map of order k-1. Here, $W^s=\barΔ^{s-1}τ(ϕ) (s=1,2,...)$ and $W^0=ϕ$. As a corollary, we give an affirmative partial answer to generalized Chen's conjecture.

Triharmonic isometric immersions into a manifold of non-positively constant curvature

A triharmonic map is a critical point of the 3-energy in the space of smooth maps between two Riemannian manifolds. We study a triharmonic isometric immersion into a space form of non-positively constant curvature. We show that if the domain is complete and both the 4-enegy and the L^4-norm of the tension field are finite, then such an immersion is minimal.

Biminimal properly immersed submanifolds in complete Riemannian manifolds of non-positive curvature

We consider a non-negative biminimal properly immersed submanifold $M$ (that is, a biminimal properly immersed submanifold with $λ\geq0$) in a complete Riemannian manifold $N$ with non-positive sectional curvature. Assume that the sectional curvature $K^N$ of $N$ satisfies $K^N\geq-L(1+{\rm dist}_N(\cdot, q_0)^2)^{\fracα{2}}$ for some $L>0,$ $2>α\geq 0$ and $q_0\in N$. Then, we prove that $M$ is minimal. As a corollary, we give that any biharmonic properly immersed submanifold in a hyperbolic space is minimal. These results give affirmative partial answers to the global version of generalized Chen's conjecture.

Biminimal properly immersed submanifolds in the Euclidean spaces

We consider a complete nonnegative biminimal submanifold M (that is, a complete biminimal submanifold with lambda>=0) in a Euclidean space E^N. Assume that the immersion is proper, that is, the preimage of every compact set in E^N is also compact in M. Then, we prove that M is minimal. From this result, we give an affirmative partial answer to Chen's conjecture. For the case of lambda<0, we construct examples of biminimal submanifolds and curves.

k-Harmonic immersion and submersion into a sphere

J. Eells and L. Lemaire introduced k-harmonic maps, and Wang Shaobo showed the first variational formula. When, k=2, it is called biharmonic maps (2-harmonic maps). There have been extensive studies in the area. In this paper, We study k-harmonic immersion into a sphere, and get the rerationship between radious and "k" of k-harmonic. And we also consider k-harmonic submersion, and genelarize Oniciuc's results. Futhermore we construct non harmonic k-harmonic by Hopf map.

Geometry of k-harmonic maps and the second variational formula of the k-energy

J.Eells and L. Lemaire introduced k-harmonic maps, and T. Ichiyama, J. Inoguchi and H.Urakawa showed the first variation formula. In this paper, we give the second variation formula of k-harmonic maps, and show non-existence theorem of proper k-harmonic maps into a Riemannian manifold of non-positive curvature (k >= 2). We also study k-harmonic maps into the product Riemannian manifold, and describe the ordinary differential equations of 3-harmonic curves and 4-harmonic curves into a sphere, and show their non-trivial solutions.

J. Eells and L. Lemaire introduced k-harmonic maps, and Wang Shaobo showed the first variational formula. When, k=2, it is called biharmonic maps (2-harmonic maps). There have been extensive studies in the area. In this paper, we consider the relationship between biharmonic maps and k-harmonic maps, and show non-existence theorem of 3-harmonic maps. We also give the definition of k-harmonic submanifolds of Euclidean spaces, and study k-harmonic curve in Euclidean spaces. Futhermore, we give a conjecture for k-harmonic submanifolds of Euclidean spaces.

The second variational formula of the k-energy and k-harmonic curves

J.Eells and L. Lemaire introduced $k$-harmonic maps, and Wang Shaobo showed the first variation formula. In this paper, we give the second variation formula of $k$-energy, and give a notion of index, nullity and weakly stable. We also study $k$-harmonic maps into the product Riemannian manifold, and $k$-harmonic curves into a Riemannian manifold with constant sectional curvature, and show their non-trivial solutions.
