"Quark Confinement" and Evolution of Covariant Hadron-Classification Scheme

The extension of Non-Relativistic-to-Covariant classification scheme seems to be an urgent problem in the Hadron Spectroscopy. Here are given the recent results of our research. 1) Brief history of our way of the extension on Kinematical Frameworks: from SU(2)_{sigma} $\otimes$ O(3)_{L} to U (4)_{DS,m} (Tensor-space of Dirac Spinor with the static unitary symm. SU(2)_{m}, which is new Mass-Reversal symm. reflecting the situation of Q.C.) $\otimes O(2)_{r\perp v}$ (2-dim. internal spatial-vector r vertical to Boost-velocity v, embedded in the O(3,1)_{Lorentz}). Also is brought in Cov. scheme the thus far Overlooked Chirality Symm. of QCD/Stand. Gauge Model. 2) Propertime tau-Quantum Mechanics for Conf. Q. System and Quantization of Comp. Hadron field is developed. The similar to conventional procedures are performed in Lorentz-Inv. Particle Frame (Galilean Inertial Frame with v=const) which becomes Lorentz-Cov. Observer F., when v=0. The one notable feature of the tau-Q.M. is concerned only future-development, inducing the Crossing Rule; the other also inducing Existence of the Chiral-Quark (JP=(1/2)-) in addition to Pauli-Quark (JP=(1/2)+), which is Origin of SU(2)_m-symm., leading to Existence of New-Exotics. 3) Evolved framework of hadron spectroscopy guided by tau-Q.M. is summarized: Especially, "Regge Trajectories", in qqbar meson system are given by $M^2$ vs. $\hat{N}(n,l)$; $M^2=M_{0}^2+N Ω$ (N=2n+l), Intrinsic spin of Comp. Hadrons J=S, where Orbital l contributes only to N. 4) New Classif. scheme is applied to Phenomenology of Bottomonium System. As a result is shown Remarkable Fact, including a serious Problem in the N.R. scheme, concerned on Spin-Flip Mechanism of Heavy Quarks, seems to disappear in our scheme. This seems to suggest that the phenomenological knowledge, thus far obtained resorting on N.R.scheme, should be reexamined from the covariant one.

Radiative pi^pm gamma transitions of excited light-quark mesons in the covariant oscillator quark model

The COMPASS collaboration, as a part of their hadron spectroscopy program, is going to measure the radiative decay widths of light-quark mesons via the Primakoff reactions. In this letter we study the photon couplings of light-quark q qbar states in the covariant oscillator quark model and evaluate the transition rates for {rho(770), b_1(1235), a_1(1260), a_2(1320), pi_2(1670), rho_3(1690), rho(1700)}^pm to pi^pm gamma, which are expected to be measured by the COMPASS. Such photon couplings could be useful not only for understanding the internal structures of observed light-quark mesons and their quark-model classification but also for the ongoing experimental studies by COMPASS.

D_{s1}^{*}(2710) and D_{sJ}^{*}(2860) in the U~(12)*O(3,1)-scheme

In order to classify the charmed-strange mesons, including puzzling D_{s0}^{*}(2317) and D_{s1}(2460), and recently observed D_{s1}^{*}(2710) and D_{sJ}^{*}(2860), we employ the U~(12)*O(3,1) level-classification scheme of hadrons proposed and developed by us in recent years. The scheme has a new degree of freedom, SU(2)_ρ, which leads to a number of extra states out of conventional SU(6)-scheme, named chiralons. Applying this novel classification scheme, we investigate the strong decays of S- and P-wave c\bar{s} mesons with one pseudoscalar emission by using the covariant oscillator quark model. As a result it is shown that D_{s0}^{*}(2317) and D_{s1}(2460) are described as {}^{1}S_{0}^χ and {}^{3}S_{1}^χ chiralons, forming the SU(2)_ρ doublet with the ground-state D_{s}^{} and D_{s}^{*}, respectively. Furthermore, the observed decay properties of D_{s1}^{*}(2710) is consistently explained as the vector chiralon {}^{1}P_{1}^χ. On the other hand, it is also found that the controversial narrow state, D_{sJ}^{*}(2860), does not fit as predicted properties of our P-wave vector chiralon.

Chiral Mass Splitting for c \bar{s} and c \bar{n} Mesons in the \tilde{U}(12)-Classification Scheme of Hadrons

We investigate the chiral mass splitting of parity-doubled J=0,1 states for c \bar{s} and c \bar{n} meson systems in the \tilde{U}(12)_{SF}-classification scheme of hadrons, using the linear sigma model to describe the light-quark pseudoscalar and scalar mesons together with the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry, and consequently predict the masses of as-yet-unobserved (0^{+},1^{+}) c \bar{n} mesons. We also mention some indications of their existence in the recent published data from the Belle and BABAR Collaborations.

Exclusive Weak Radiative Decays of B Mesons in the Covariant Oscillator Quark Model

Exclusive weak radiative B meson decays are studied using the covariant oscillator quark model. The branching ratios for the processes B0 to K*0 gamma and B to K* gamma have been estimated. These are in reasonable agreement with the available experimental data. The calculation has been extended to the CKM-suppressed decay processes B- to rho- gamma and Bs to K*0 gamma .

Hadronic Weak Decays of Lambda b Baryon in the Covariant Oscillator Quark Model

Cabibbo allowed two-body hadronic weak decays of Lambda b baryons are analyzed in the factorization approximation. We use the covariant oscillator quark model to evaluate the heavy to heavy and heavy to light form factors. When applied in the heavy quark limit, our form factors satisfy all the constraints imposed by heavy quark symmetry. The decay rates and up-down asymmetries for Lambda b baryon decaying into Lambda c +P(V) are calculated. It is found that the up-down asymmetry is negative in all these decay modes. Furthermore, the prediction Br(Lambda b to Lambda+J/psi)=2.49 times 10^-4 is consistent with the recent experimental data. Finally it is pointed out that the CKM-Wolfenstein parameter rho^2+eta^2, where eta is the CP phase, can be determined from the ratio of the widths Lambda b to Lambda bar D^0 and Lambda b to Lambda J/psi, independent of the QCD parameter. The value of (rho^2 +eta^2)^1/2 calculated in our model agrees very well with the value recently predicted by Rosner.

Relation between Scattering and Production Amplitudes - concerning sigma Particle in pi pi System -

In a series of previous papers the present authors and collaborators have shown strong evidence for existence of the long-sought sigma-particle by analyzing the pi pi-scattering and pi pi-production processes, applying, respectively, the IA method and the VMW method. In this paper we examine the relation between the scattering amplitude T and the production amplitude F from the viewpoint of the unitarity and the final state interaction (FSI) theorem by using a simple field theoretical model. As a result it is shown that the amplitudes in the physical state representation are directly represented through the Breit-Wigner amplitudes of the relevant resonances, and the respective forms of T and F coincide with those in the IA and VMW methods, justifying our methods of analyses.

σ-Particle in Production Processes

A S-wave ππresonance below 1 GeV/c^2, sigma has been observed in analyses of the phase shift data of ππscatterings. It is important to observe it in production processes. A huge events of π^0π^0 below 1 GeV/c^2 is seen in the central production of the GAMS experiment. Its mass spectrum is well described by the variant mass and width method (VMW) including f_0(980), f_2(1270) and a S-wave resonance which might be assigned to be a sigma. We report here that the angular distributions of the π^0π^0 system are also described with the S-wave resonance interfering with f_0(980) and the tail of f_2(1270) by VMW. The same method is applied to the π^+π^- data of J/ψ\to ωππdecay, and is shown that not only π^+π^- mass spectrum but also its cosθ_πdistributions are described well.
