High order chiral Lagrangians with vector mesons in different approaches

The chiral Lagrangians with vector mesons are constructed in different approaches, including the next-to-leading order Lagrangian in the vector-field approach, the next-to-next-to-leading order Lagrangians in the tensor-field and the hidden local symmetry approaches. Some redundant terms are found at the next-to-leading order in the tensor-field and the hidden local symmetry approaches. The corresponding relations between the next-to-next-to-leading order pseudoscalar mesonic low-energy constants and the ones in the hidden local symmetry approach are obtained at tree level. The equivalence between the tensor-field approach and the hidden local symmetry approach is also discussed.

Full pseudoscalar mesonic chiral Lagrangian at p6 order under the unitary group

We construct the full p6 order chiral Lagrangians for the unitary group and special unitary groups, including nf-, three- and two-flavor cases, all bilinear currents (scalar, pseudoscalar, vector, axial-vector and tensor currents) and theta parameter. The number of independent operators are 1391, 1326 and 969 for each of the flavor unitary groups. From these results, we find one extra linear relation among the traditional p4 order low-energy constants under the U(3) group, and some more linear relations with tensor sources for the p6 order low-energy constants in the special unitary groups. We develop a scheme to obtain the relations for the dependent operators in terms of independent operators.

Computation of the $p^6$ order low-energy constants with tensor sources

We present the results of calculations of the $p^4$ and $p^6$ order low-energy constants for the chiral Lagrangian with tensor sources for both two and three flavors of pseudoscalar mesons. This is a generalization of our previous work on similar calculations without tensor sources in terms of the quark self-energy $Σ(p^2)$, based on the first principle derivation of the low-energy effective Lagrangian and computation of the low-energy constants with some rough approximations. With the help of partial integration and some epsilon relations, we find that some $p^6$ order operators with tensor sources appearing in the literature are related to each other. That leaves 98 independent terms for $n$-flavor, 92 terms for three-flavor, and 65 terms for two-flavor cases. We also find that the odd-intrinsic-parity chiral Lagrangian with tensor sources cannot independently exist in any order of low-energy expansion.

Minimal Ward-Takahashi Vertices and Pion Light Cone Distribution Amplitudes from Gauge Invariant, Nonlocal, Dynamical Quark Model

The gauge-invariant, nonlocal, dynamical quark model is proved to generate the minimal vertices which satisfy the Ward-Takahashi identities. In the chiral limit, the momentum-dependent quark self-energy results in a flat-like form with some end point delta-funtions for the light-cone pion distribution amplitudes, similarly found in the Nambu Jona-Lasino model with constant constituent mass. The leading order nonzero pion and current quark masses corrections lead concave type asymptotic-like form modifications to twist-2 pion distribution amplitude with end point pillars and twist-3 tensor pion distribution amplitude above the flat-like form backgrounds. A by-product of our investigation shows that the variable u appearing in pion light-cone distribution amplitudes is just the standard Feynman parameter in the Feynman parameter integrals; also chiral perturbation works well for these amplitudes.

The Global Electroweak Fit and its Implication to Z-prime

Among the $Z$-pole observables, $A_{FB}^{(0,b)}$ and $A_e$ suffer moderately-large standard deviations from the Standard Model predictions. Fine-tuning of the unknown Higgs mass only reduces the deviation of one of them at the expense of increasing the deviation of the other observable. If we take this fact seriously, the result can be interpreted as independent experimental evidence of existing new physics beyond SM, even if a 125GeV Higgs on the LHC is finally confirmed to be SM Higgs. We show in this paper that the existence of a $Z'$ boson mixing with $Z$ and $γ$ and with generation-dependent anomaly-free charge assignments, helps to suppress $A_{FB}^{(0,b)}$ and $A_e$ at $Z$-pole simultaneously and dose reduce the largest deviation from $2.7σ$ in SM predictions to $1.2σ$ in our scenario. The global electroweak fit does not prefer $Z'$ coupling to the second-generation quarks and the first-generation left-handed lepton and right-handed electron. The fitting result also supports a negative contribution to the $S$ parameter from the $Z'$ boson.

Electroweak Chiral Lagrangian from TC2 Model with nontrivial TC fermion condensation and walking

The electroweak chiral Lagrangian for the topcolor assisted technicolor model proposed by K. Lane, which uses nontrivial patterns of techniquark condensation and walking, was investigated in this study. We found that the features of the model are qualitatively similar to those of Lane's previous natural TC2 prototype model, but there is no limit on the upper bound of the Z' mass. We discuss the phase structure and possible walking behavior of the model. We obtained the values of all coefficients of the electroweak chiral Lagrangian up to an order of p4. We show that although the walking effect reduces the S parameter to half its original value, it maintains an order of 2. Moreover, a special hyper-charge arrangement is needed to achieve further reductions in its value.

Computation of the coefficients for $p^6$ order anomalous chiral Lagrangian

We present the results of computing the $p^6$ order low energy constants in the anomalous part of chiral Lagrangian both for two and three flavor pseudoscalar mesons. This is a generalization of our previous work on calculating the $p^6$ order coefficients for the normal part chiral Lagrangian in terms of the quark self energy $Σ(p^2)$. We show that most of our results are consistent with those we can find in the literature.

Computation of the p6 order chiral Lagrangian coefficients from the underlying theory of QCD

We present results of computing the p6 order low energy constants in the normal part of chiral Lagrangian both for two and three flavor pseudo-scalar mesons. This is a generalization of our previous work on calculating the p4 order coefficients of the chiral Lagrangian in terms of the quark self energy Sigma(p2) approximately from QCD. We show that most of our results are consistent with those we can find in the literature.

Derivation of Electroweak Chiral Lagrangian from One Family Technicolor Model

Based on previous studies deriving the chiral Lagrangian for pseudo scalar mesons from the first principle of QCD in the path integral formalism, we derive the electroweak chiral Lagrangian and dynamically compute all its coefficients from the one family technicolor model. The numerical results of the $p^4$ order coefficients obtained in this paper are proportional to the technicolor number $N_{\rm TC}$ and the technifermion number $N_{\rm TF}$, which agrees with the arguments in previous works, and which confirms the reliability of this dynamical computation.
