Criterion of Quantum Phase Synchronization in Continuous Variable Systems by Local Measurement

Phase synchronization was proved to be unbounded in quantum level, but the witness of phase synchronization is always expensive in terms of the quantum resource and non-local measurements involved. Based on the quantum uncertainty relation, we construct two local criterions for the phase synchronization in this paper. The local criterions indicate that the phase synchronization in the quantum level can be witnessed only by the local measurements, and the deduction has been verified in the optomechanics system in numerical way. Besides, by analyzing the physical essence of the phase synchronization in quantum level, we show that one can prepare a state, which describes two synchronized oscillators with no entanglement between them. Thus, the entanglement resource is not necessary in the occurrence of the ideal phase synchronization, and also the reason for this phenomenon is discussed.

Phase Anti-Synchronization dynamics between Mechanical Oscillator and Atomic Ensemble within a Fabry-Perot Cavity

Phase synchronization refers to a kind of collective phenomenon that the phase difference between two or more systems is locked, and it has widely been investigated between systems with the identical physical properties, such as the synchronization between mechanical oscillators and the synchronization between atomic ensembles. Here, we investigate the synchronization behavior between the mechanical oscillator and the atomic ensemble, the systems with different physical properties, and observe a novel synchronization phenomenon, i.e., the phase sum, instead of phase difference, is locked. We refer to this distinct synchronization as the phase anti-synchronization, and show that the phase anti-synchronization can be achieved in both the classical and quantum level, which means this novel collective behavior can be tested in experiment. Also, some interesting connections between phase anti-synchronization and quantum correlation is found.

Detecting Non-Markovianity via Linear Entropy of Choi State

Non-Markovian dynamics detection is one of the most popular subjects in the quantum information science. In this paper, a linear-entropy-based non-Markovianity witness scheme is constructed. The positive definiteness of the Choi state will be broken in the non-Markovian evolution, which can be witnessed by its linear entropy. Thus, the linear entropy of the Choi state can be used to witness the non-Markovian dynamics. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by an example of the pure dephasing channel. Also, it is shown that this method can be extended to the one based on Rényi entropy.

A Unified and Strengthened Framework for the Uncertainty Relation

We provide a unified and strengthened framework for the product form and the sum form variance-based uncertainty relations by constructing a unified uncertainty relation. In the unified framework, we deduce that the uncertainties of the incompatible observables are bounded by not only the commutator of themselves, but also the quantities related with the other operator. This operator can provide information so that we can capture the uncertainty of the measurement result more accurately, and thus is named as the information operator. The introduction of the information operator can fix the deficiencies in both the product form and the sum form uncertainty relations, and provides a more accurate description of the quantum uncertainty relation. The unified framework also proposes a new interpretation of the uncertainty relation for non-Hermitian operators; i.e., the "observable" second-order origin moments of the non-Hermitian operators cannot be arbitrarily small at the same time when they are generalized-incompatible on the new definition of the generalized commutator.

The transport character of quantum state in one-dimensional coupled-cavity-arrays: effect of the number of photons and entanglement degree

The transport properties of the photons injected into one-dimensional coupled-cavity-arrays (CCAs) are studied. It is found that the number of photons cannot change the evolution cycle of the system and the time points at which W states and NOON state are obtained with a relatively higher probability. Transport dynamics in the CCAs exhibits that entanglement-enhanced state transmission is more effective phenomenon, and we show that for a quantum state with the maximum concurrence, it can be transmitted completely without considering the case of photon loss.
