Winding modes and the reflection symmetry in AdS$_3$

We compute the contact term of the two-point function for the SL($2,\mathbb R$)-WZNW model in the winding sector. After reviewing some generalities of the model and its Euclidean counterpart, we discuss the reflection symmetry for the spectral flowed sector. We define the corresponding intertwining operator and use it to find the explicit form of the contact term of the propagator for a vertex carrying an arbitrary amount of spectral flow. Finally, we enhance the already known integral expression of a singly flowed vertex in order to reproduce such contact term directly in the space-time picture.

Some recursive formulas for Selberg-type integrals

A set of recursive relations satisfied by Selberg-type integrals involving monomial symmetric polynomials are derived, generalizing previously known results. These formulas provide a well-defined algorithm for computing Selberg-Schur integrals whenever the Kostka numbers relating Schur functions and the corresponding monomial polynomials are explicitly known. We illustrate the usefulness of our results discussing some interesting examples.

On a Selberg-Schur integral

A generalization of Selberg's beta integral involving Schur polynomials associated with partitions with entries not greater than 2 is explicitly computed. The complex version of this integral is given after proving a general statement concerning the complex extensions of Selberg-Schur integrals. All these results have interesting applications in both mathematics and physics, particularly in conformal field theory, since the conformal blocks for the $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$ Wess-Zumino-Novikov-Witten model can be obtained by analytical continuation of these integrals.
