We find a sign-changing solution for a class of Schrödinger-Poisson system in $\mathbb{R}^3$ as an existence result by minimization in a closed subset containing all the sign-changing solutions of the equation. The proof is based on variational methods in association with the deformation lemma and Miranda's theorem.
Based on some ideas introduced by Benci and Cerami \cite{benci-cerami_calvar}, we obtain an abstract result that establishes a version of the Morse relations. Afterward, we use this result to prove multiplicity of solutions for a nonlinear Schrödinger equation with an external magnetic field.
Some superlinear fourth order elliptic equations are considered. Ground states are proved to exist and to concentrate at a point in the limit. The proof relies on variational methods, where the existence and concentration of nontrivial solutions are related to a suitable truncated equation.
We are interested in finding a family of solutions to a singularly perturbed biharmonic equation which has a concentration behavior. The proof is based on variational methods and it is used a weak version of the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition.
