Phenomenology of the Utilitarian Supersymmetric Standard Model

We study the 2010 specific version of the 2002 proposed $U(1)_X$ extension of the supersymmetric standard model, which has no $μ$ term and conserves baryon number and lepton number separately and automatically. We consider in detail the scalar sector as well as the extra $Z_X$ gauge boson, and their interactions with the necessary extra color-triplet particles of this model, which behave as leptoquarks. We show how the diphoton excess at 750 GeV, recently observed at the LHC, may be explained within this context. We identify a new fermion dark-matter candidate and discuss its properties. An important byproduct of this study is the discovery of relaxed supersymmetric constraints on the Higgs boson's mass of 125 GeV.

Verifiable Associated Processes from Radiative Lepton Masses with Dark Matter

If leptons do not couple directly to the one Higgs doublet of the standard model of particle interactions, they must still do so somehow indirectly to acquire mass, as proposed recently in several models where it happens in one loop through dark matter. We analyze the important consequences of this scenario in a specific model, including Higgs decay, muon anomalous magnetic moment, $μ\to e γ$, $μ\to eee$, and the proposed dark sector.

Type II Radiative Seesaw Model of Neutrino Mass with Dark Matter

We consider a model of neutrino mass with a scalar triplet $(ξ^{++},ξ^+,ξ^0)$ assigned lepton number $L=0$, so that the tree-level Yukawa coupling $ξ^0 ν_i ν_j$ is not allowed. It is generated instead through the interaction of $ξ$ and $ν$ with dark matter and the soft breaking of $L$ to $(-1)^L$. We discuss the phenomenological implications of this model, including $ξ^{++}$ decay and the prognosis of discovering the dark sector at the Large Hadron Collider.

Anomalous Higgs Yukawa Couplings

In the standard model, the Higgs boson $h$ couples to the quarks and charged leptons according to the well-known formula $(m_ψ/v) h \barψψ$, where $ψ$ = quark (q) or lepton (l) and $v$ = 246 GeV is its vacuum expectation value. Suppose $m_ψ$ is of radiative origin instead, then the effective $h \barψψ$ Yukawa coupling will not be exactly $m_ψ/v$. We show for the first time quantitatively how this may shift the observed branching fraction of $h \to \bar{b}b$ and $h \to τ^+ τ^-$ upward or downward. Thus the precision measurements of Higgs decay to fermions at the Large Hadron Collider, due to resume operation in 2015, could be the key to possible new physics.

SU(2)_N Model of Vector Dark Matter with a Leptonic Connection

Models of fermion and scalar dark matter abound. Here we consider instead vector dark matter, from an SU(2)_N extension of the standard model. It has a number of interesting properties, including a possible implementation of the inverse seesaw mechanism for neutrino mass. The annihilation of dark matter for calculating its relic abundance in this model is not dominated by its cross section to standard-model particles, but rather to other new particles which are in thermal equilibrium with those of the standard model.
