Dark energy and non-linear power spectrum

We investigate the effects of homogeneous general dark energy on the non-linear matter perturbation in fully general relativistic context. The equation for the density contrast contains even at linear order new contributions which are non-zero for general dark energy. Taking into account the next-leading-order corrections, we derive the total power spectrum in real and redshift spaces. We find that the observable galaxy power spectrum deviates from the LambdaCDM spectrum, which is nearly identical to that in the Einstein-de Sitter universe, and the relative difference is about 10% on a scale of the baryon acoustic oscillations.

Exact Third-Order Density Perturbation and One-Loop Power Spectrum in General Dark Energy Models

Under the standard perturbation theory (SPT), we obtain the fully consistent third-order density fluctuation and kernels for the general dark energy models without using the Einstein-de Sitter (EdS) universe assumption for the first time. We also show that even though the temporal and spatial components of the SPT solutions can not be separable, one can find the exact solutions to any order in general dark energy models. With these exact solutions, we obtain the less than \% error correction of one-loop matter power spectrum compared to that obtained from the EdS assumption for $k = 0.1 {\rm h\, Mpc}^{-1}$ mode at $z = 0$ (1, 1.5). Thus, the EdS assumption works very well at this scale. However, if one considers the correction for $P_{13}$, the error is about 6 (9, 11) \% for the same mode at $z = 0$ (1, 1.5). One absorbs $P_{13}$ into the linear power spectrum in the renormalized perturbation theory (RPT) and thus one should use the exact solution instead of the approximation one. The error on the resummed propagator $N$ of RPT is about 14 (8, 6) \% at $z =0$ (1, 1.5) for $k = 0.4 {\rm h\, Mpc}^{-1}$. For $k = 1 {\rm h\, Mpc}^{-1}$, the error correction of the total matter power spectrum is about 3.6 (4.6, 4.5) \% at $z = 0$ (1, 1.5). Upcoming observation is required to archive the sub-percent accuracy to provide the strong constraint on the dark energy and this consistent solution is prerequisite for the model comparison.

Non-linear matter bispectrum in general relativity

We show that the relativistic effects are negligibly small in the non-linear density and velocity bispectra. Although the non-linearities of Einstein equation introduce additional non-linear terms to the Newtonian fluid equations, the corrections to the bispectrum only show up on super-horizon scales. We show this with the next-to-leading order non-linear bispectrum for a pressureless fluid in a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker background, by calculating the density and velocity fields up to fourth order. We work in the comoving gauge, where the dynamics is identical to the Newtonian up to second order. We also discuss the leading order matter bispectrum in various gauges, and show yet another relativistic effect near horizon scales that the matter bispectrum strongly depends on the gauge choice.

Non-linear power spectra in the synchronous gauge

We study the non-linear corrections to the matter and velocity power spectra in the synchronous gauge (SG). We consider the perturbations up to third order in a zero-pressure fluid in flat cosmological background, which is relevant for the non-linear growth of cosmic structure. As a result, we point out that the SG is an inappropriate coordinate choice when handling the non-linear growth of the large-scale structure. Although the equations in the SG happen to coincide with those in the comoving gauge (CG) to linear order, they differ from second order. In particular, the second order hydrodynamic equations in the the SG are apparently in the Lagrangian form, whereas those in the CG are in the Eulerian form. Thus, the non-linear power spectra naively presented in the original SG show strange behavior quite different from the result of the Newtonian theory even on sub-horizon scales. The power spectra in the SG show regularized behaviors only after we introduce convective terms in the second order so that the equations in two gauges coincide to the second order.
