Analytic integration of soft and collinear radiation in factorised QCD cross sections at NNLO

Within the framework of local analytic sector subtraction, we present the full analytic integration of double-real and real-virtual local infrared counterterms that enter NNLO QCD computations with any number of massless final-state partons. We show that a careful choice of phase-space mappings leads to simple analytic results, including non-singular terms, that can be obtained with conventional integration techniques.

Strongly-ordered infrared limits for subtraction counterterms from factorisation

After a brief introduction to the problem of subtraction of infrared divergences for high-order collider observables, we present a preliminary study of strongly-ordered soft and collinear multiple radiation from the point of view of factorisation. We show that the matrix elements of fields and Wilson lines that describe soft and collinear radiation in factorised scattering amplitudes can be re-factorised in strongly-ordered limits, providing a systematic method to compute them, to characterise their singularity structure, and to build local subtraction counterterms for strongly-ordered configurations. Our results provide tools for a detailed organisation of subtraction algorithms, in principle to all orders in perturbation theory.

NLO QCD + electroweak predictions for off-shell ttH production at the LHC

In these proceedings, next-to-leading-order (NLO) QCD and electroweak (EW) corrections to ${\rm p}{\rm p} \to {\rm e}^+ ν_{\rm e} μ^- \bar ν_μ{\rm b} \bar{\rm b} {\rm H}$ at the LHC are presented. In these computations the top quarks are considered off their mass shell and all non-resonant contributions are included. The results are presented in the form of fiducial cross sections and differential distributions. Moreover, two prescriptions to combine QCD and EW corrections are examined.

NLO Higgs Effective Field Theory and kappa-framework

A consistent framework for studying Standard Model deviations is developed. It assumes that New Physics becomes relevant at some scale beyond the present experimental reach and uses the Effective Field Theory approach by adding higher-dimensional operators to the Standard Model Lagrangian and by computing relevant processes at the next-to-leading order, extending the original kappa-framework.

Bounding the Higgs Width Using Effective Field Theory

An interesting question is how present and future experiments will be able to probe the couplings of the Higgs boson and its intrinsic width at a high level of precision. There is a wide variety of beyond the Standard Model (BSM) theories where the Higgs couplings differ from the Standard Model (SM) ones by less that 10%. We take the SM as the theory of "light" degrees of freedom, i.e. d=4 operators and simulate the unknown extension of the SM by the most general set of d=6 operators. In particular we provide an explicit example of momentum-dependent modification of Higgs couplings.

Electroweak corrections to lepton pair production in association with two hard jets at the LHC

We compute the next-to-leading order corrections of $O(α_s^2α^3)$ to the hadronic production of two oppositely charged leptons and two hard jets, $p p \to j j l^- l^+$, using Recola and Collier. We include electroweak and QCD corrections at the given order and all off-shell effects. We provide detailed predictions for the LHC operating at 13 TeV and obtain per-cent-level corrections for the total cross section. For differential distributions we find significant non-uniform distortions in high-energy tails at the level of several ten per cent due to electroweak Sudakov logarithms and deformations at the level of a few per cent for angular variables.

Electroweak corrections to Z + 2 jets production at the LHC

We present results for the electroweak radiative corrections to the production of a leptonically decaying Z boson in association with two jets at the LHC. Tree-level and one-loop amplitudes have been obtained with the computer code Recola for the recursive generation of tree-level and one-loop amplitudes in the Standard Model. The one-loop integrals have been calculated with the tensor-integral library Collier. The electroweak corrections turn out to be small for inclusive cross sections but can become large in tails of distributions.

EW and QCD One-Loop Amplitudes with RECOLA

We present the computer code RECOLA for the computation of EW and QCD amplitudes in the Standard Model at next-to-leading order. One-loop amplitudes are represented as linear combinations of tensor integrals whose coefficients are calculated by means of recursive relations similar to Dyson-Schwinger equations. A novel treatment of colour enables us to recursively construct the colour structure of the amplitude efficiently. RECOLA is linked with the library COLLIER for the computation of the tensor integrals.

Recursive generation of one-loop amplitudes in the Standard Model

We introduce the computer code Recola for the recursive generation of tree-level and one-loop amplitudes in the Standard Model. Tree-level amplitudes are constructed using off-shell currents instead of Feynman diagrams as basic building blocks. One-loop amplitudes are represented as linear combinations of tensor integrals whose coefficients are calculated similarly to the tree-level amplitudes by recursive construction of loop off-shell currents. We introduce a novel algorithm for the treatment of colour, assigning a colour structure to each off-shell current which enables us to recursively construct the colour structure of the amplitude efficiently. Recola is interfaced with a tensor-integral library and provides complete one-loop Standard Model amplitudes including rational terms and counterterms. As a first application we consider Z+2jets production at the LHC and calculate with Recola the next-to-leading-order electroweak corrections to the dominant partonic channels.

Electroweak corrections to W-boson pair production at the LHC

Vector-boson pair production ranks among the most important Standard-Model benchmark processes at the LHC, not only in view of on-going Higgs analyses. These processes may also help to gain a deeper understanding of the electroweak interaction in general, and to test the validity of the Standard Model at highest energies. In this work, the first calculation of the full one-loop electroweak corrections to on-shell W-boson pair production at hadron colliders is presented. We discuss the impact of the corrections on the total cross section as well as on relevant differential distributions. We observe that corrections due to photon-induced channels can be amazingly large at energies accessible at the LHC, while radiation of additional massive vector bosons does not influence the results significantly.

Complete Electroweak Corrections to Higgs production in a Standard Model with four generations at the LHC

Complete electroweak two-loop corrections to the process $gg \to H$ are presented and discussed in a Standard Model with a fourth generation of heavy fermions. The latter is studied at the LHC to put exclusion limits on a fourth generation of heavy fermions. Therefore also a precise knowledge of the electroweak(EW) next-to-leading-order(NLO) corrections is important. The corrections due to the fourth generation are positive and large for a light Higgs boson, positive but relatively small around the $\bar{t}-t$ threshold and start to become negative for a Higgs boson mass around $M_H = 450 GeV$. Increasing further the value of the Higgs boson mass, the EW NLO effects tend to become huge and negative, ${\cal O}(-100%)$, around the heavy-fermion threshold, assumed at $1.2 TeV$, so that $gg$-fusion becomes non-perturbative. Above that threshold they start to grow again and become positive around $M_H= 1.75 TeV$. The behaviour at even larger values of $M_H$ shows a positive enhancement, ${\cal O}(+100%)$ at $M_H= 3 TeV$.

Higgs Pseudo-Observables, Second Riemann Sheet and All That

The relation between physical observables measured at LHC and Tevatron and standard model Higgs pseudo-observables (production cross section and partial decay widths) is revised by extensively using the notion of the Higgs complex pole on the second Riemann sheet of the $S $-matrix. The extension of their definition to higher orders is considered, confronting the problems that arise when QED(QCD) corrections are included in computing realistic observables. Numerical results are presented for pseudo-observables related to the standard model Higgs boson decay and production. The relevance of the result for exclusion plots of the standard model Higgs boson for high masses (up to $600 $GeV) is discussed. Furthermore, a recipe for the analytical continuation of Feynman loop integrals from real to complex internal masses and complex Mandelstam invariants is thoroughly discussed.
