Study of participant-spectator matter, thermalization and other related phenomena for neutron-rich colliding pair

We study the participant-spectator matter, density and temperature reached in heavy-ion reactions of neutron-rich systems having N/Z varying from 1.0 to 2.0 at 50 and 250 MeV/nucleon. The N/Z dependence of these quantities is also investigated. Our results show a weak dependence on the N/Z ratio of the system on these quantities. We also shed light on the role of N/Z ratio on the thermalization achieved in a reaction. We find similar weak N/Z dependence on thermalization also.

Confrontation of QMD model with the experimental data for $^{40}Ar$ +$^{45}$Sc, $^{197}Au$ +$^{197}$Au and $^{129}Xe$ +$^{119}$Sn reactions

In the present work, we make confrontation of our theoretical calculations using quantum molecular dynamics model with the experimental data for the reactions of $^{40}Ar$ +$^{45}$Sc, $^{197}Au$ +$^{197}$Au and $^{129}Xe$ +$^{119}$Sn at different incident energies. In these reactions, we display the charge distribution and energy dependence of fragments multiplicity. Our results indicate good agreement with the experimental data for all the reactions.

Energy of vanishing flow: mass-isospin dependence

We study the effect of isospin degree of freedom on balance energy throughout the mass range between 50 and 350 for two sets of isotopic systems with N/Z = 1.16 and 1.33 as well as isobaric systems with N/A = 1.0 and 1.4. Our findings indicate that different values of balance energy for two isobaric systems may be mainly due to the Coulomb repulsion. We also demonstrate clearly the dominance of Coulomb repulsion over symmetry energy.

Impact parameter dependence of the isospin effects and mass dependence of balance energy

We study the effect of isospin degree of freedom on the balance energy (E$_{bal}$) as well as its mass dependence throughout the mass range for two different sets of isobaric systems with N/Z = 1 and 1.4 at different colliding geometries ranging from the central to peripheral ones. Our findings reveal the dominance of Coulomb repulsion in isospin effects on E$_{bal}$ as well as its mass dependence throughout the range of the colliding geometry. Our results also indicate that the effect of symmetry energy on the energy of vanishing flow is uniform throughout the mass range and throughout the colliding geometry.

Isospin effects in disappearance of flow as a function of colliding geometry

We study the effect of isospin degree of freedom on the balance energy (E$_{bal}$) as well as its mass dependence throughout the mass range 48-270 for two sets of isobaric systems with N/Z = 1 and 1.4 at different colliding geometries ranging from central to peripheral ones. Our findings reveal the dominance of Coulomb repulsion in isospin effects on E$_{bal}$ as well as its mass dependence throughout the range of the colliding geometry.

Isospin effects in the disappearance of flow as a function of colliding geometry

Our findings reveal the dominance of Coulomb repulsion in isospin effects on E$_{bal}$ as well as its mass dependence throughout the range of the colliding geometry. Our results also indicate that the effect of symmetry energy and nucleon-nucleon cross section on E$_{bal}$ is uniform throughout the mass range and throughout the colliding geometry. We also present the counter balancing of nucleon-nucleon collisions and mean field by reducing the Coulomb and the counter balancing of Coulomb and mean filed by removing the nucleon-nucleon collisions.

On the density and temperature of neutron-rich systems at the energy of vanishing flow in heavy-ion collisions

We study nuclear dynamics at the the energy of vanishing flow for neutron-rich systems. In particular, we shall study the collision rate, density and temperature reached in a heavy-ion reaction with neutron-rich systems. We shall also study the mass dependence of these quantities. Our results indicate nearly mass independent nature for the density reached whereas a significant mass dependence exists for the temperature of neutron-rich systems.

On the participant-spectator matter and thermalization of neutron-rich systems in heavy-ion collisions

We study the participant-spectator matter at the energy of vanishing flow for neutron-rich systems. Our study reveals similar behaviour of articipant-spectator for neutron-rich systems as for stable systems and also points towards nearly mass independence behaviour of participant-spectator matter for neutron-rich systems at the energy of vanishing flow. We also study the thermalization reached in the reactions of neutron-rich systems.

On the sensitivity of transverse flow to the isospin-dependent cross-section and symmetry energy

We study the transverse flow for systems having various N/Z ratios. We find the transverse flow is sensitive to N/Z ratio and, in fact, increases with N/Z of the system. The relative contribution of symmetry energy and isospin dependence of nucleon-nucleon cross section is also investigated. We find the greater sensitivity of symmetry energy in the lighter systems compared to heavier ones.

On the study of momentum correlations in fragmentation in heavy-ion collisions

The role of momentum correlations in fragmentation is studied within the framework of quantum molecular dynamics model. Our study is carried out by imposing momentum cut in the clusterization algorithm. The study reveals a strong effect of momentum cut in the fragmentation pattern. A comparison with experimental data is also presented. Our theoretical results are in agreement with the experimental data.

On the study of phase-space analysis of fragments produced in heavy-ion collisions

Effect of momentum-dependent interactions and broader Gaussian is investigated on the emission of various fragments formed in a heavy-ion reaction. We also study the corresponding structure details of those fragments for broader Gaussian and momentum-dependent interactions. We find that nucleons forming the fragments belong to same region of the phase space

Role of colliding geometry on the N/Z dependence of balance energy

We study the role of colliding geometry on the N/Z dependence of balance energy using isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics model. Our study reveals that the N/Z dependence of balance energy becomes much steeper for peripheral collisions as compared to the central collisions. We also study the effect of system mass on the impact parameter dependence of N/Z dependence of balance energy. The study shows that lighter systems shows greater sensitivity to colliding geometry towards the N/Z dependence.

Sensitivity of the transverse flow towards symmetry energy

We study the sensitivity of transverse flow towards symmetry energy in the Fermi energy region as well as at high energies. We find that transverse flow is sensitive to symmetry energy as well as its density dependence in the Fermi energy region. We also show that the transverse flow can address the symmetry energy at densities about twice the saturation density, however it shows the insensitivity towards the symmetry energy at densities $ρ/ρ_{0}$ $>$ 2. The mechanism for the sensitivity of transverse flow towards symmetry energy as well as its density dependence is also discussed.

System size effects and N/Z dependence of balance energy for different isotopic series

We study the N/Z dependence of energy of vanishing flow or balance energy for different isotopic series of various system masses like Ca+Ca, Ni+Ni, Zr+Zr, Sn+Sn and Xe+Xe. We find that balance energy decreases with N/Z of the system and follows a linear behaviour. The slope of N/Z dependence is steeper for lighter systems like Ca+Ca and less for heavier ones like Xe+Xe.

System size effects in the N/Z dependence of balance energy for isotopic series

We study the system size effects in the N/Z dependence of balance energy for the isotopic series. We find drastic effect of symmetry energy on the N/Z dependence of E$_{bal}$ throughout the mass range. We also find that the N/Z dependence of E$_{bal}$ for isotopic series of lighter system is slightly more sensitive to symmetry energy as compared to that of heavier systems. We also study the mass dependence of E$_{bal}$ for the N/Z range from 1.0-2.0. We find that the mass dependence of E$_{bal}$ varies with the N/Z ratio.

Our fndings indicate that different values of balance energy for two isobaric systems may be mainly due to the Coulomb repulsion. We also demonstrate clearly the dominance of Coulomb repulsion over symmetry energy.
