Hot primordial regions with anomalous hydrogenless chemical composition

We study primordial nucleosynthesis in hypothetical hot regions that could be formed by the primordial density inhomogeneities. It is shown that the regions survived up to the present times acquire an abnormally high metallicity. This conclusion holds in wide range of initial parameters of such regions. We considered the thermonuclear reaction rates and estimated abundances of deuterium and helium-3 and -4 inside these areas. It has been established that all baryons tend to form helium-4, which is the thermonuclear link in the chain of formation of heavier elements.

Local temperature distribution in the vicinity of gravitationally bound objects in the expanding Universe

We consider a cluster of Primordial Black Holes which is decoupled from the cosmological expansion (Hubble flow) and this region is heated as compared to the surrounding matter. The increased temperature inside the region can be explained by several mechanisms of Primordial Black Holes formation. We study the temperature dynamics of the heated region of Primordial Black Holes cluster.

Formation of conserved charge at the de Sitter space

The article considers a new mechanism of charge accumulation in the early Universe in theories with compact extra dimensions. The relaxation processes in the extra space metric that take place during its formation lead to the establishment of symmetrical extra space configuration. As a result, the initial accumulation of the number associated with the symmetry occurs. We demonstrate this mechanism using a simple example of a two-dimensional apple-like extra space metric with $U(1)$-symmetry. The conceptual idea of the mechanism can be used to develop a model for the production of the baryon or lepton number in the early Universe.

Cosmological implications of Higgs field fluctuations during inflation

Cosmological implications of Higgs field fluctuations during inflation are considered. This study is based on the Standard Model and the standard quadratic model of chaotic inflation where the Higgs field is minimally coupled to gravity and has no direct coupling to the inflaton. In the Standard model the renormalisation group improved effective potential develops an instability (an additional minimum and maximum) at large field values. It is shown that such a new maximum should take place at an energy scale above $10^{14} \;\text{GeV},$ otherwise a universe like ours is extremely unlikely. The extension to the case of the Higgs field interacting with the inflaton field is discussed.

Nonlinear multidimensional gravity and the Australian dipole

The existing observational data on possible variations of fundamental physical constants (FPC) confirm more or less confidently only a variability of the fine structure constant $α$ in space and time. A model construction method is described, where variations of $α$ and other FPCs (including the gravitational constant $G$) follow from the dynamics of extra space-time dimensions in the framework of curvature-nonlinear multidimensional theories of gravity. An advantage of this method is a unified approach to variations of different FPCs. A particular model explaining the observable variations of $α$ in space and time has been constructed. It comprises a FRW cosmology with accelerated expansion, perturbed due to slightly inhomogeneous initial data.

Clusters of Black Holes as Point-Like Gamma-ray Sources

The possibility of identifying some of Galactic gamma-ray sources as clusters of primordial black holes is discussed. The known scenarios of supermassive black hole formation indicate the multiple formation of lower-mass black holes. Our analysis demonstrates that due to Hawking evaporation the cluster of black holes with masses about $10^{15}$ g could be observed as a gamma-ray source. The total mass of typical cluster is $\sim 10 M_\odot$. Detailed calculations have been performed on the basis of specific model of primordial black hole formation.

The universe formation by a space reduction cascade with random initial parameters

In this paper we discuss the creation of our universe using the idea of extra dimensions. The initial, multidimensional Lagrangian contains only metric tensor. We have found many sets of the numerical values of the Lagrangian parameters corresponding to the observed low-energy physics of our universe. Different initial parameters can lead to the same values of fundamental constants by the appropriate choice of a dimensional reduction cascade. This result diminishes the significance of the search for the 'unique' initial Lagrangian. We also have obtained a large number of low-energy vacua, which is known as a 'landscape' in the string theory.

Gravitational Wave Bursts from Collisions of Primordial Black Holes in Clusters

The rate of gravitational wave bursts from the mergers of massive primordial black holes in clusters is calculated. Such clusters of black holes can be formed through phase transitions in the early Universe. The central black holes in clusters can serve as the seeds of supermassive black holes in galactic nuclei. The expected burst detection rate by the LISA gravitational wave detector is estimated.

Mechanism for the Suppression of Intermediate-Mass Black Holes

A model for the formation of supermassive primordial black holes in galactic nuclei with the simultaneous suppression of the formation of intermediate-mass black holes is presented. A bimodal mass function for black holes formed through phase transitions in a model with a "Mexican hat" potential has been found. The classical motion of the phase of a complex scalar field during inflation has been taken into account. Possible observational manifestations of primordial black holes in galaxies and constraints on their number are discussed.

On the Origin of Gauge Symmetries and Fundamental Constants

A statistical mechanism is proposed for symmetrization of an extra space. The conditions and rate of attainment of a symmetric configuration and, as a consequence, the appearance of gauge invariance in low-energy physics is discussed. It is shown that, under some conditions, this situation occurs only after completion of the inflationary stage. The dependence of the constants $\hbar$ and G on the geometry of the extra space and the initial parameters of the Lagrangian of the gravitational field with higher derivatives are analyzed.

Multidimensional world, inflation and modern acceleration

Starting from pure multidimensional gravity with curvature-nonlinear terms but no matter fields in the initial action, we obtain a cosmological model with two effective scalar fields related to the size of two extra factor spaces. The model includes both an early inflationary stage and that of modern accelerated expansion and satisfies the observational data. There are no small parameters; the effective inflaton mass depends on the initial conditions which explain its small value as compared to the Planck mass. At the modern stage, the size of extra dimensions slowly increases, therefore this model predicts drastic changes in the physical laws of our Universe in the remote future.

Stationary Points of Scalar Fields Coupled to Gravity

We investigate the dynamics of gravity coupled to a scalar field using a non-canonical form of the kinetic term. It is shown that its singular point represents an attractor for classical solutions and the stationary value of the field may occur distant from the minimum of the potential. In this paper properties of universes with such stationary states are considered. We reveal that such state can be responsible for modern dark energy density.

Role of quantum fluctuations at high energies

We investigate an influence of virtual particles on the classical motion of a system in Minkowski and Euclidean spaces. Our results indicate that fluctuations of fields different from the main field decelerate significantly its motion at high energies. The formalism described here is applicable to the majority of inflationary models. We show also that the quantum fluctuations suppress false vacuum decay in first-order phase transitions at high energies.

Primordial Black Holes from Non-Equilibrium Second Order Phase Transition

The collapse of sufficiently large closed domain wall produced during second order phase transition in the vacuum state of a scalar field can lead to the formation of black hole. The origin of domain walls with appropriate size and energy density could be a result of evolution of an effectively massless scalar field at the inflational epoch. We demonstrate that in this case the situation is valued when there are compact domains of less favorable vacuum surrounded by a sea of another vacuum. Each domain has a surface composed of vacuum wall that stores a significant amount of energy, and can collapse into the black hole. This offers the way of massive primordial black holes formation in the early Universe.

preprint1999arXiv

First Order Phase Transitions as a Source of Black Holes in the Early Universe

A new mechanism of black hole formation in a first order phase transition is proposed. In vacuum bubble collisions the interaction of bubble walls leads to the formation of nontrivial vacuum configuration. The consequent collapse of this vacuum configuration induces the black hole formation with high probability. The primordial black holes that have been created by this way at the end of first order inflation could give essential contribution into the total density of the early Universe. The possibilities to establish some nontrivial restrictions on the inflation models with first order phase transition are discussed.

Physical Origin, Evolution and Observational Signature of Diffused Antiworld

The existence of macroscopic regions with antibaryon excess in the baryon asymmetric Universe with general baryon excess is the possible consequence of practically all models of baryosynthesis. Diffusion of matter and antimatter to the border of antimatter domains defines the minimal scale of the antimatter domains surviving to the present time. A model of diffused antiworld is considered, in which the density within the surviving antimatter domains is too low to form gravitationally bound objects. The possibility to test this model by measurements of cosmic gamma ray fluxes is discussed. The expected gamma ray flux is found to be acceptable for modern cosmic gamma ray detectors and for those planned for the near future.
