Dispersion (asymptotic) theory of charged particle transfer reactions at low energies and nuclear astrophysics: I. the "non-dramatic" case

A new dispersion (asymptotic) theory is proposed for the peripheral sub- and above-barrier charged particle transfer $A(x,y)B$ reaction in the three-body ($A$, $a$ and $y$) model where $ x= y +a$ and $B=A+a$, and $ a$ is a transferred particle. It is based on the combination of the dispersion theory and the conventional DWBA method. The explicit forms have been derived for the exact three-body pole amplitude and differential cross section in which the contribution of the three-body ($A$, $a$ and $y$) Coulomb dynamics of the transfer mechanism in the peripheral partial amplitudes, corresponding to partial waves with $l_i>>1$, is taken into account correctly. For the specific peripheral proton and triton transfer reactions, the comparative analysis of the peripheral partial amplitudes at $l_i>>1$ , which correspond to the one-step pole and exact three-body pole amplitudes as well as those of the "post"-approximation and the post form of the conventional DWBA, is performed with each other. It shows the absolute inapplicability of the "post"-approximation usually applied for getting an information about specific asymptotic normalization coefficients being astrophysical interest.

Dispersion (asymptotic) theory of charged particle transfer reactions at low energies and nuclear astrophysics: II. the asymptotic normalization coefficients and their nuclear-astrophysical application

Within the asymptotic theory proposed by authors R. Yarmukhamedov and K.I. Tursunmakhatov [Phys. Rev. C (submitted 2019)] for the peripheral sub- and above-barrier transfer $A$($x$, $y$)$B$ reaction in the three-body ($A$, $a$ and $y$) model ($ x$= $y$ + $a$ and $B$= $A$ + $a$, and $ a$ is a transferred particle), the analysis of the experimental angular distributions of the differential cross sections is performed for the peripheral proton and triton transfer ${\rm{^9Be(^{10}B,\,^9Be)^{10}B}}$, ${\rm{^{16}O(^3He}},\,d{\rm{)^{17}F}}$ and ${\rm{^{19}F(}}p,\,α{\rm{)^{16}O}}$ reactions at above-and sub-barrier projectile energies, respectively. New estimates and their uncertainties are obtained for magnitudes of the asymptotic normalization coefficients (respective the nuclear vertex constants) for ${\rm{^9Be}} \,+p \to\,{\rm{^{10}B}}$, ${\rm{^{16}O}} \,+\,p \to\, {\rm{^{17}F}}$ and ${\rm{^{16}O}} \,+\,t\to{\rm{^{19}F}}$. They are applied for calculations of the astrophysical $S$ factors for the nuclear-astrophysical ${\rm{^9Be(}}p,\,γ{\rm{)^{10}B}} $, ${\rm{^{16}O(}}p,\,γ{\rm{)^{17}F}}$ and ${\rm{^{19}F(}}p,\,α{\rm{)^{16}O)}}$ reactions at thermonuclear energies. New values and their uncertainties are obtained for the astrophysical $S$ factors at stellar energies.

Asymptotic normalization coefficients for ${\rm {^7Be}}+p\to{\rm{^8B}}$ from the peripheral ${\rm{^7Be}}$($d$,$n$)${\rm{^8B}}$ reaction and their astrophysical application

The proton transfer ${\rm{^7Be}}$($d$,$n$)${\rm{^8B}}$ reaction at the energy of 4.5 MeV (c.m.) has been analysed within the modified DWBA. New estimates and their uncertainties are obtained for values of the asymptotic normalization coefficients for $p + {\rm{^7Be}} \to {\rm{^8B}}$, the astrophysical $S_{17}(0)$ factor and the s-wave $p + {\rm{^7Be}}$ scattering lengths.

Asymptotics of three-body bound state radial wave functions of halo nuclei involving two charged particles

Asymptotic expressions for the radial and full wave functions of a three{body bound halo nuclear system with two charged particles in relative coordinates are obtained in explicit form, when the relative distance between two particles tends to infinity. The obtained asymptotic forms are applied to the analysis of the asymptotic behavior of the three-body (pn?) wave functions for the halo ($E^*=3.562$ MeV, $J^π=0^+$, $T=1$) state of $^6$Li derived by D. Baye within the Lagrange-mesh method for two forms of the $αN$ -potential. The agreement between the calculated wave function and the asymptotic formula is excellent for distances up to 30 fm. Information about the values of the three-body asymptotic normalization functions is extracted. It is shown that the extracted values of the three-body asymptotic normalization function are sensitive to the form of the $αN$ -potential. The mirror symmetry is revealed for the three-body asymptotic normalization functions derived for the isobaric ($^6$He, $^6$Li) pair.

Connection between effective-range expansion and nuclear vertex constant or asymptotic normalization coefficient

Explicit relations between the effective-range expansion and the nuclear vertex constant or asymptotic normalization coefficient (ANC) for the virtual decay $B\to A+a$ are derived for an arbitrary orbital momentum together with the corresponding location condition for the ($A+a$) bound-state energy. They are valid both for the charged case and for the neutral case. Combining these relations with the standard effective-range function up to order six makes it possible to reduce to two the number of free effective-range parameters if an ANC value is known from experiment. Values for the scattering length, effective range, and form parameter are determined in this way for the $^{16}$O+$p$, $α+t$ and $α+^3$He collisions in partial waves where a bound state exists by using available ANCs deduced from experiments. The resulting effective-range expansions for these collisions are valid up to energies larger 5 MeV.

Determination of the 3He+alpha\to 7Be asymp. normalization coefficients (nucl. vertex constants) and their application for extrapolation of the 3He(alpha,gamma)7Be astroph. S-factors to the solar energy region

A new analysis of the modern precise measured astrophysical $S$ factors for the direct capture $^3He(α,γ)^7{\rm {Be}}$ reaction [B.S. Nara Singh {\it et al.}, Phys.Rev.Lett. {\bf 93}, 262503 (2004); D. Bemmerer {\it et al.}, Phys.Rev.Lett. {\bf 97}, 122502 (2006); F.Confortola {\it et al.}, Phys.Rev.C {\bf 75}, 065803 (2007), T.A.D.Brown {\it et al.}, Phys.Rev. C {\bf 76}, 055801 (2007) and A Di Leva, {\it et al.},Phys.Rev.Lett. {\bf 102}, 232502 (2009)] populating to the ground and first excited states of $^7{\rm Be}$ is carried out based on the modified two - body potential approach. New estimates are obtained for the $^{\glqq}$indirectly determined\grqq\, values of the asymptotic normalization constants (the nuclear vertex constants) for $^3{\rm {He}}+α\to{\rm {^7Be}}$(g.s.) and $^3{\rm {He}}+α\to{\rm {^7Be}}$(0.429 MeV) as well as the astrophysical $S$ factors $S_{34}(E)$ at E$\le$ 90 keV, including $E$=0. The values of asymptotic normalization constants have been used for getting information about the $α$-particle spectroscopic factors for the mirror (${\rm{^7Li}}{\rm {^7Be}}$)-pair.
