Shortcuts to adiabatic passage for fast generation of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states by transitionless quantum driving

Berry's approach on "transitionless quantum driving" shows how to set a Hamiltonian which drives the dynamics of a system along instantaneous eigenstates of a reference Hamiltonian to reproduce the same final result of an adiabatic process in a shorter time. In this paper, motivated by transitionless quantum driving, we construct shortcuts to adiabatic passage in a three-atom system to create the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states with the help of quantum Zeno dynamics and of non-resonant lasers. The influence of various decoherence processes is discussed by numerical simulation and the result proves that the scheme is fast and robust against decoherence and operational imperfection.

Fast and noise-resistant implementation of quantum phase gates and creation of quantum entangled states

The "Lewis-Riesenfeld phases" which plays a crucial role in constructing shortcuts to adiabaticity may be a resource for the implementation of quantum phase gates. By combining "Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant" with "quantum Zeno dynamics", we propose an effective scheme of rapidly implementing $π$ phase gates via constructing shortcuts to adiabatic passage in a two-distant-atom-cavity system. The influence of various decoherence processes such as spontaneous emission and photon loss on the fidelity is discussed. It is noted that this scheme is insensitive to both two error sources. Additionally, a creation of N-atom cluster states is put forward as a typical example of the applications of the fast and noise-resistant phase gates. The study results show that the shortcuts idea is not only applicable in other logic gates with different systems, but also propagable for many quantum information tasks.

Efficient shortcuts to adiabatic passage for the fast populations transfer in multiparticle systems

Achieving fast populations transfer (FPT) in multiparticle systems based on the cavity quantum electronic dynamics (CQED) is an outstanding challenge. In this paper, motivated by the quantum Zeno dynamics (QZD), a shortcut for performing the FPT of ground states in multiparticle systems with the invariant based inverse engineering is proposed. Numerical simulation demonstrates that a perfect populations transfer of ground states in multiparticle systems can be rapidly achieved in one step, and the FPT is robust to both the cavity decay and atomic spontaneous emission. Additionally, this scheme is not only implemented without requiring extra complex conditions, but also insensitive to variations of the parameters.

Shortcuts to adiabatic passage for multiparticle in distant cavities: Applications to fast and noise-resistant quantum population transer, entangled states' preparation and transition

In this paper, we study the fast and noise-resistant population transfer, quantum entangled states preparation, and quantum entangled states' transition by constructing the shortcuts to adiabatic passage (STAP) for multiparticle based on the approach of "Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants" in distant cavity quantum electronic dynamics (QED) system. Numerical simulation demonstrates that all of the schemes are fast and robust against the decoherence caused by atomic spontaneous emission and photon leakage. Moreover, not only the total operation time but also the robustness in each scheme against decoherence is irrelevant to the number of qubits. This might lead to a useful step toward realizing the fast and noise-resistant quantum information processing in current technology.
