Solitons and spin transport in graphene boundary

It is shown that in (2+1)-dimensional condensed matter systems, induced gravitational Chern-Simons (CS) action can play a crucial role for coherent spin transport in a finite geometry, provided zero-curvature condition is satisfied on the boundary. The role of the resultant KdV solitons is explicated. The fact that KdV solitons can pass through each other without interference, represent 'resistanceless' spin transport.

Wind Speed Data Analysis for Various Seasons during a Decade by Wavelet and S transform

The appropriate weather prediction is a challenging task and it can be feasible with proper wind speed fluctuation analysis. In this current paper daubechies-4 wavelet is used to analyze the winter wind speed fluctuations due to lesser agitated wind data samples of winter. In summer abrupt changes in wind speed occurs which creates difficulty for wavelets to keep proper track of wind speed fluctuations. So, in that case the concept of the S-transform is introduced.

Diagnosing Heterogeneous Dynamics for CT Scan Images of Human Brain in Wavelet and MFDFA domain

CT scan images of human brain of a particular patient in different cross sections are taken, on which wavelet transform and multi-fractal analysis are applied. The vertical and horizontal unfolding of images are done before analyzing these images. A systematic investigation of de-noised CT scan images of human brain in different cross-sections are carried out through wavelet normalized energy and wavelet semi-log plots, which clearly points out the mismatch between results of vertical and horizontal unfolding. The mismatch of results confirms the heterogeneity in spatial domain. Using the multi-fractal de-trended fluctuation analysis (MFDFA), the mismatch between the values of Hurst exponent and width of singularity spectrum by vertical and horizontal unfolding confirms the same.

Bell Soliton in Ultra-cold Atomic Fermi Gas

We demonstrate the existence of supersonic bell soliton in the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer-Bose-Einstein condensate (BCS-BEC) crossover regime. Starting from the extended Thomas-Fermi density functional theory of superfluid order parameter, a density transformation is used to map the hydrodynamic mean field equation to a Lienard type equation. As a result, bell solitons are obtained as exact solutions, which is further verified by the numerical solution of the dynamical equation. The stability of the soliton is established and its behaviour in the entire crossover domain is obtained. It is found that, akin to the case of vortices, the bell solitons yield highest contrast in the BEC regime.

Wavelet and Fast Fourier Transform based analysis of Solar Image

Both of Wavelet and Fast Fourier Transform are strong signal processing tools in the field of Data Analysis. In this paper fast fourier transform (FFT) and Wavelet Transform are employed to observe some important features of Solar image (December, 2004). We have tried to find out the periodicity and coherence of different sections of the solar image. We plotted the distribution of energy in solar surface by analyzing the solar image with scalograms and 3D-coefficient plots.

Loss of superfluidity in the Bose-Einstein condensate in an optical lattice with cubic and quintic nonlinearity

In a one-dimensional shallow optical lattice, in the presence of both cubic and quintic nonlinearity, a superfluid density wave is identified in a Bose-Einstein condensate. Interestingly, it ceases to exist when only one of these interactions is operative. We predict the loss of superfluidity through a classical dynamical phase transition, where modulational instability leads to the loss of phase coherence. In a certain parameter domain, the competition between lattice potential and the interactions is shown to give rise to a stripe phase, where atoms are confined in finite domains. In a pure two-body case, apart from the known superfluid and insulating phases, a density wave insulating phase is found to exist, possessing two frequency modulations commensurate with the lattice potential.

Generation of entangled channels for perfect teleportation channels using multi-electron quantum dots

In this work we have proposed a scheme for generating $N$ qubit entangled states which can teleport an unknown state perfectly. By switching on the exchange interaction ($J$) between the qubits one can get the desired states periodically. A multi electron quantum dot can be a possible realization for generating such $N$ qubit states with high fidelity. In the limit of $N \to \infty$, there exists a unique time $t=\frac{1}{J}\cos^{-1}(-1/8)$ where the Hamiltonian dynamics gives the $N$ qubit state that can assist perfect teleportation. We have also discussed the effect of the nuclear spin environment on the fidelity of teleportation for a general $N$ qubit entangled channel.
