Systematic investigation of channel coupling effects on elastic, inelastic and neutron transfer channels in 6^6Li+159^{159}Tb

Elastic scattering angular distribution for weakly bound nucleus 6^{6}Li on the deformed rare earth 159^{159}Tb target nucleus has been measured at energies around the Coulomb barrier. The elastic scattering cross sections for this reaction consist of inelastic contributions from low lying excited states of 159^{159}Tb. The pure elastic cross-sections have been extracted from the admixture of elastic and inelastic data. The optical model potential parameters for the system have been obtained from the extracted pure elastic scattering cross sections. Coupled channel calculations have been performed with this set of potential parameters, to compare the theoretical and experimental inelastic scattering cross sections. The work has been extended to obtain the spectroscopic factor for 158^{158}Tb+n configuration from the experimental 1n-pickup data.

Large back-angle quasielastic scattering for 7^{7}Li+159^{159}Tb

Quasielastic scattering excitation function at large backward angle has been measured for the weakly bound system, 7^{7}Li+159^{159}Tb at energies around the Coulomb barrier. The corresponding quasielastic barrier distribution has been derived from the excitation function, both including and excluding the αα-particles produced in the reaction. The centroid of the barrier distribution obtained after inclusion of αα-particles was found to be shifted higher in energy, compared to the distribution excluding the αα-particles. The quasielastic data, excluding the αα-particles, have been analyzed in the framework of continuum discretized coupled channel calculations. The quasielastic barrier distribution for 7^{7}Li+159^{159}Tb, has also been compared with the fusion barrier distribution for the system.

The determination of α-spectroscopic factors and ANC of 16O states using 12C(20Ne,16O)16O reaction at Elab=150 MeV incident energy

The 12C(20Ne,16O)16O α-transfer reaction at Elab=150 MeV is first time used to determine the ANC of the 6.92 MeV and 7.12 MeV states of 16O. The 20Ne+ 12C potential parameters are also obtained from elastic scattering. The direct reaction code FRESCO is used to determine the α-spectroscopy factor (Sα ) of the three states of 16O (6.92 MeV, 7.12 MeV and 11.52 MeV) and ANC of the two states (6.92 MeV and 7.12 MeV) of 16O. The extracted ANC and Sα are compareable to previous measurements.
