Quasinormal modes of a massless Dirac field in de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley massive gravity

The quasinormal modes of a massless Dirac field in the de Rham-Gabadadze-Tolley (dRGT) massive gravity theory with asymptotically de Sitter spacetime are investigated using the Wentzel- Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation. The effective potential for the massless Dirac field due to the dRGT black hole is derived. It is found that the shape of the potential depends crucially on the structure of the graviton mass and the behavior of the quasinormal modes is controlled by the graviton mass parameters. Higher potentials give stronger damping of the quasinormal modes. We compare our results to the Schwarzschild-de Sitter case. Our numerical calculations are checked using Pad$\acute{e}$ approximation and found that the quasinormal mode frequencies converge to ones with reasonable accuracy.

Rotating black string in dRGT massive gravity

One of the solutions of Einstein field equation with cylindrical symmetry is known as black string solution. In this work, the rotating black string solution in dRGT massive gravity is obtained and then called rotating-dRGT black string solution. This solution is a kind of generalized version of rotating AdS/dS black sting solution containing an additional two more terms characterizing the structure of graviton mass. The horizon structures of the black string are explored. The thermodynamical properties of the black string are investigated. We found that it is possible to obtain the Hawking-Page phase transition depending on the additional structure of the graviton mass, while it is not possible for rotating-AdS/dS black string. By analyzing the free energy, we also found that the stable rotating black string is bigger than the non-rotating one.

Thermodynamics and Phase Transition of Spherically Symmetric Black Hole in de Sitter Space from Rényi Statistics

Schwarzschild black holes in a de Sitter background were studied in terms of their thermodynamics based on the Rényi statistics. This led to thermodynamically stable black hole configurations for some certain range of black hole radii; namely within this range the corresponding black holes have positive heat capacity. Moreover, for a certain background temperature there can exist at most three configurations of black hole; one among which is thermodynamically stable. These configurations were investigated in terms of their free energies, resulting in the moderate-sized stable black hole configuration being the most preferred configuration. Furthermore, a specific condition on the Rényi non-extensive parameter is required if a given hot spacetime were to evolve thermally into the moderate-sized stable black hole.

A class of black holes in dRGT massive gravity and their thermodynamical properties

We present exact spherical black hole solutions in de Rham, Gabadadze and Tolley (dRGT) massive gravity for a generic choice of the parameters in the theory, and also discuss the thermodynamical and phase structure of the black hole in both the grand canonical and canonical ensembles (for charged case). It turns out that the dGRT black hole solutions includes the known solutions to the Einstein field equations, such as, the monopole-de Sitter-Schwarzschild ones with the coefficients for the third and fourth terms in the potential and the graviton mass in massive gravity naturally generates the cosmological constant and the global monopole term. Furthermore, we compute the mass, temperature, and entropy of dGRT black hole solutions and also perform thermodynamical stability. It turns out that the presence of the graviton mass completely changes the black hole thermodynamics, and it can provide the Hawking-Page phase transition which is also true for the obtained charged black holes. Interestingly, the entropy of a black hole is unaffected and still obeys area law. In particular, our results, in the limit $m_g \rightarrow 0$, reduced exactly to \emph{vis-$\grave{a}$-vis} the general relativity results.

Mass-Varying Massive Gravity with k-essence

For a large class of mass-varying massive gravity models, the graviton mass cannot provide the late-time cosmic expansion of the universe due to its vanishing at late time. In this work, we propose a new class of mass-varying massive gravity in which the graviton mass varies according to a kinetic term of a k-essence field. By using a more general form of the fiducial metric, we found a solution such that a non-vanishing graviton mass can drive the accelerated expansion of the universe at late time. We also perform dynamical analyses of such model and found that without introducing the k-essence Lagrangian, the graviton mass can be responsible for both dark contents of the universe, namely dark energy that drives the accelerated expansion of the universe and non-relativistic matter that plays the role of dark matter. Moreover, by including the k-essence Lagrangian, we found that it is possible to alleviate the so-called cosmic coincidence problem.

Extended DBI massive gravity with generalized fiducial metric

We consider an extended model of DBI massive gravity by generalizing the fiducial metric to be an induced metric on the brane corresponding to a domain wall moving in five-dimensional Schwarzschild-Anti-de Sitter spacetime. The model admits all solutions of FLRW metric including flat, closed and open geometries while the original one does not. The background solutions can be divided into two branches namely self-accelerating branch and normal branch. For the self-accelerating branch, the graviton mass plays the role of cosmological constant to drive the late-time acceleration of the universe. It is found that the number degrees of freedom of gravitational sector is not correct similar to the original DBI massive gravity. There are only two propagating degrees of freedom from tensor modes. For normal branch, we restrict our attention to a particular class of the solutions which provides an accelerated expansion of the universe. It is found that the number of degrees of freedom in the model is correct. However, at least one of them is ghost degree of freedom which always present at small scale implying that the theory is not stable.

Casimir Dark Energy, Stabilization of the Extra Dimensions and Gauss-Bonnet Term

Casimir dark energy model in five-dimensional and six-dimensional spacetime including non-relativistic matter and Gauss-Bonnet term is investigated. The Casimir energy can play the role of dark energy to drive the late-time acceleration of the universe while the radius of the extra dimensions can be stabilized. The qualitative analysis in radion picture in four-dimensional spacetime shows that the contribution from Gauss-Bonnet term will effectively slow down the radion field at the beginning time. Therefore, the radion field does not pass minimum point of the effective potential before the minimum of the potential exists. This leads to the stabilizing mechanism of the extra dimensions eventually.

Reheating in 3-form inflation

We consider the 3-form field, which has been considered as a candidate for realizing inflation, coupled to a scalar field which models the relativistic matter particles produced during the reheating epoch. We have investigated the stability conditions for this theory and found that introducing such a coupling does not lead to any ghosts or Laplacian instabilities. We have also investigated the reheating temperature and the production of particles due to parametric resonances. We have found that this process is more efficient in this theory compared to the result of the standard-scalar-field inflationary scenario.

Stability of the 3-form field during inflation

We consider the minimally coupled 3-form field which has been considered as a candidate to realize inflation. We have studied the conditions to avoid ghosts and Laplacian instabilities and found that some classes of potentials, e.g. the Mexican-hat one, will in general be unstable. We then propose other classes of potentials which are instead free from any instability, drive a long-enough slow-roll regime followed by an oscillatory epoch, and as a consequence, can provide successful inflation. Finally, we also provide stable potentials which lead to a small enough propagation speed for the scalar perturbations, giving a possibility for these models to produce non-Gaussianities.
